Summary: Haven't read it yet but I know what happens
Review: Just a friendly reminder; when you are giving your review of a book be considerate of those who haven't read it yet and don't give away any big secrets especially the end of the book. I have not yet read The Green Mile but I know the ending thanks to a reader from the US comments. Thanks.

Summary: You won't be able to put it down!
Review: I had given up reading Stephen King some years ago after a slew of what I considered redundant and shallow horror novels, however when my husband starting raving about this book I decided to give it a try. I loved it! The characters are true, the story compelling, the emotions stark. This book has you rooting for the good guys and hating the bad guys, although part of the message here is that life is not always fair (on the surface). I laughed and cried out loud while reading this -- this book made me FEEL a lot more emotions than many I have read lately. I hope King writes more novels outside of the horror genre. This one is definitely worth it!

Summary: Very close to the movie.
Review: I'm not into Stephen King's work, but I adore Tom Hanks and so saw the movie. The movie was great so then I had to read the book. Green Mile is a very entertaining book with some characters you'll fall in love with (like the jail guard portrayed by Tom Hanks, and the mystical death row inmate "Big Boy" Coffey). As always the book is much better than the movie, and was an easy, engrossing read.

Summary: A Compassionate Adventure
Review: Not only did this book have a well thought out plot line, but it sent a valuable moral message to all that read it. Though this book has recieved critisizm for being choppy as are many serial novels, I found it to flow quite gracefully and smoothly. The character of Wild Bill Wharton was a wonderful minor antagonist. Percy was easy to hate, as he should have been. My only problem with this novel was that the protagonist, Paul Edgecombe, was not well developed. What I mean by this is we never really knew enough about his younger years and I never got a sense for what drove him and motivated him. I found him to be slightly bland and I wish King spent more time filling him out.

Summary: Couldn't Have Been Better
Review: I must admit, I do not like horror books, which is why I am excited when King writes books about life, not horror. Last year, I read Different Seasons, King's collection of novellas, which includes Shawshank Redemption, Apt Pupil, The Body (Stand by Me) and the Breathing Method. The Body is one of the best works I have ever read, but after reading The Green Mile, I will have to add another book to that category. The characters in this book are extremely unique. The guards prove to be anything but typical prison guards and the prisoners actually make the reader hope that murderers go free. Steven King a true master of words and he has created yet another masterpiece.

Summary: Absolutely Perfect! Beautifully read by Frank Muller
Review: I love all Stephen Kings' audio books. I am blessed with a 64 mile round trip commute to work and I have listened to alot of books on tape. The Green Mile is by far my favorite.(before that it was Bag of Bones). This book is hauntingly beautiful, the characters so real, the emotions so strong. This book moved me, captivated me like no other. Frank Mullers' narration was flawless. If you have never listened to an audio book, I highly recommend The Green Mile, it is superb!

Summary: I LOVED THE GREEN MILE!
Review: The Green Mile was among the best books that I have ever read. I absolutely lived the story line. The end of the book, when John Coffey was executed, I was so touched that I cried. This is definately among King's best bokks, and I would recommend The Green Mile to everyone who is an avis Stephen King reader.

Summary: why see a movie?
Review: I was hesitant to read this book. I didn't think I would like a serialized book. How wrong I was! This is a side of Stephen King I've never see before, and I've read all of his books. I had the movie running through my mind the entire book and don't think a movie could be better.
