Summary: A blood-curdling, spine-tingling, hair-raising novel.
Review: Though Dean Koontz never fails with any of his novels, Intensity is, without hesitation, one of his best. And the best part is that the characters are not laid out for you. In order to figure out who they are and where they've been, you must be alert! As for the heroine, Chyna, she was absolutely wonderful, to the point of seeming real. Her hesitant attitude helped the reader identify with her and her quest to stop the killer. Koontz's killer was great as well. He fits the description of any next door neighbor in any town. After I read Intensity, Koontz made me wary of every "normal-looking" person I came into contact with! Wherever you are Dean Koontz, I have one word for you: Bravo!

Summary: A blood-curdling, spine-tingling, hair-raising novel.
Review: Though Dean Koontz never fails with any of his novels, Intensity is, without hesitation, one of his best. His heroine, Chyna, a young woman, who has led a controlled, somewhat sheltered life, is catapulted into action by the brutal murders of her friend's whole family by a "homicidal adventurer" who enjoys the more "intense" pleasures in life. Wanting revenge and rebirth, Chyna follows him (unsure of what plan of action she will take) into his realm where the darkness of his heart is shrouded by the necessity to be survive in society. Deep in his world, she discovers he has an even darker secret in his basement and this knowledge motivates her to continue in her quest for understanding. For Koontz fans and non-Koontz fans alike, this is an absolute must read. It will keep you awake at night, turning pages with shaky hands while praying that Chyna will get out alive.

Summary: Koontz's Hot Streak Continues.
Review: After the incredible streak of excellent novels he has released, including Dark Rivers of the Heart and Mr. Murder, Dean Koontz delivers his most suspenseful novel since Watchers. Filled with one gripping situation after another, Intensity doesn't slow down for a minute. This is one novel I could not put down. This ranks among his best work without any question.

Summary: WOW !!!!!!!
Review: I bought Intensity on the recommendation from a friend, "Dean Koontz is a very descriptive writer, It's almost like you're there. Excellent, excellent author." When I started reading, I put the book down a total of four times. A complete page turner. I'm now a hooked Koontz reader! This book is exciting until the end, which is totally unpredictable

Summary: The most interesting serial killer you'll never want to meet
Review: Its extremely rare for fiction to scare me. And its even less likely for a novel to educate me. Unbelievably, thats just what Dean Koontz has done. As a student of philosophy and psychology, I found Intensity to be one of the most "intense" literary experiences of my life. The description of the philosophy of Edgler Vess is so expertly written, one can't help but experience the mind of a serial killer; a person of pure will, free from all restrictions, including morality. He clearly is his own God. Nietzsche, who not coincidentally was Vess' dogs command, would have been proud of such a perfect example of individual freedom. Not only does Koontz expertly delve into the realms of the human consciousness few dare to even think about, he also has skill and style to weave it into a terrifying tale. This is a tribute to his brilliance. Read it!

Summary: Finally, Koontz is out of the rut
Review: I'm sure this book should become a major motion picture. It's got it all. I was getting a little tired of Koontz's usual quasi-supernatural evil bad guys. A real life blood and guts serial killer makes this book an "intense" read, to say the least. I won't give away the plot, but I liked it a lot

Summary: outstanding
Review: This book is a major page turner. I enjoyed it immensely and believe that this is one of Koontz's best. Although somewhat predictable, you couldn't help but turn the page to see what happened next

Summary: A lightning bolt of suspense that leaves you speechless.
Review: Not since Midnight has Dean Koontz really made me pant for more action and fright. The novel races at you with the strength and force of a juggernaut. The main characters are as three-dimensional as any that he's created; the marvel of this feat is that Koontz gives himself only twenty-four hours to make them real to us. The villain is by far his most scariest and his most thought-provoking; a super-hedonist if there ever was one. Not exactly supernatural, nor psychological, but the novel does carry a metaphysical twist that will tease the brain as much as shiver the spine. The finale is worth more then ten times the price of the book. A masterpiece from the monarch of suspense

Summary: Wow
Review: I just couldn't put it down - the first time I've ever wanted to read the last page just to kill the suspense!! The first Dean Koontz I have read but I'm not sure I want to read another - I don't think I could go through that again!!
