Summary: Amazing characterization
Review: I've been an avid Koontz fan for years, but this book tops the list for me. The characters were so real; I felt like I knew China. I finished the book at 4:00a.m. and couldn't go to sleep after that! The story was captivating from the first few pages. A definite "must read!"

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: 1st Koontz I read...I'm hooked!
Review: The character of the killer was quite entertaining and interesting. I thought the book was a good read

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Metabolism Shifter!
Review: The written version allows the imagination to take "Intensity" to atmospheric highs for the reader, even surpassing the TV Screen Movie.

Koontz allows the individual reader to somehow enter the incredible journey of suspense, catatonically observing events in a dream and unable to prevent the slow creeping fog of terror

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A real page turner.
Review: Man, oh man. Words cannot describe the intenstity of this novel. (This book was aptly named.) You will find yourself yelling at Chyna Shepard and hating Edgler Vess. You will get thrown into this book whether you like it or not. Edgler Vess IS NOT your average serial killer

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very Good but Not the Best
Review: Despite the slow start it turned out to be a fairly good book. The strong point of the story was not Chyna, but Edgler Vess. Koontz's descriptions of Edgler's sensations and emotions were amazing, it kept me coming back for more. A first person look into the mind of a serial killer is a refreshing change to the media or some psychologist. On the flipside Chyna was too unrealistic and downright stupid at times. A little more thought process was needed to go into the making of her character. The "strength under stress" thing was just a little TOO MUCH

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Intense!
Review: An avid Koontz reader, I can honestly say that Intensity really "got to me" in a way none of the other books have. I was haunted for days by the book, which I had read in its entirety one evening because I couldn't put it down! After reading this book you will never look at a "perfectly harmless-looking stranger" the same way again!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Best book he's ever written!
Review: The title is very descriptive - I read it in one sitting! Very intense, keeps you looking over your shoulders, and jumping at every bump in the dark! Absolutely the best one he has ever written

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The ONLY book I've read repeatedly !!!
Review: I've read probly 2/3 of Koontz' published works. This is my favorite to date. Read it for yourself ! And if Dean is out there ..... how about releasing a book of the verses you say is from "The Book of Counted Sorrows"

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The title is worth a thousand words!
Review: The first Dean Koontz novel I read. I read the first line, as a stranger to his work, and the last, as new and devoted fan. INTENSITY will cling to you from start to finish, even during those times when you dare put it down. A note of warning - Don't be in the house alone while reading it

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: good book, one of koontz's best
Review: I really enjoyed this book, I have never read one of his books faster than I read this one. I loved the characters. I really hated the villian. Chyna did make a few stupid mistakes that contradicted how she was protrayed in the early portions of the book but she was still an excellent character. I like the happy ending, usually that is the case with dean koontz, but if I notice a book where he had it end on a sad note I will definitley not read it. Only one real stronge criticism I have for this book is that Ariel should not have been so drawn in, had she been as unbreakable as Chyna, she would have made an excellent partner in Vess's undoing
