Summary: Pulse Pounding Story with a Super Heroine
Review: Chyna Shepherd walked out on her mother, a gorgeous junkie slut with a slew of violent and evil boyfriends, when she was sixteen. Ten years later she's studying psychology and she's going to spend a calm and quiet weekend with her friend Laura's family in Napa Valley. However psycho killer Edgler Foreman Vess, who believes that he can draw upon a person's vital life force at the moment of their death, breaks in and kills Laura and her family. Chyna, hardened by her past, wants revenge and she spends the next day and a half, stalking and being stalked by Vess in this pulse pounding story that is certainly one of Dean's best. In my opinion, you just gotta read this book.

Summary: Not for those with heart problems!!!
Review: Wow, this book is extraordinary. Read it with the lights on. I've read several of Koontz books before but this one blows the others out of the water. From the first page to the last page, your heart will be beating at twice its normal pace. This book takes us into the mind of a psychopath, and also into the mind of the unfortunate young woman who is trapped with him. Koontz has an amazing talent for making you feel like your really there. I've read few books in a single sitting, but this one was hard not to read straight through. This is by far, one of the best books I've ever read.

Summary: Best Koontz Novel Yet!
Review: In my opinion, this is the best Koontz novel yet. This book, as the title suggests, is an intense psychologial thriller. From the very start, it was engrossing. Not once did it have a dull or predictable moment. I had a very hard time putting this book down. The characters were very well developed. The suspense almost unbearable.

Summary: Great Thriller
Review: This is the first of Dean Koontz I have read and it's great.Just as the title: It's intense all the way through to the end. It's one you'll want to keep going back to.

Summary: The titles says it all!!!!
Review: A thrilling, page-turner the likes of which I haven't come across in some time. Dean Koontz, not unlike Stephen King, developed a penchant for overblown dissertations on society in the guise of suspense and horror. The situation wasn't helped by the resurfacing of earlier and rather weak efforts published under the pseudonym of Leigh Nichols ("Winter Moon," "House of Thunder," "Voice of the Night" etc.). Needless to say, I became increasingly disenchanted with his more recent work. "Intensity" has brought me back to the fold, if only for a short while. Deeply disturbing, thrilling and imbued with an almost unbearable sense of dread, this book will surely not disappoint those with a fascination for the gruesome and macabre. As I haven't read any of his post-Intensity" novels, I can't say whether this novel signals the return of the Dean Koontz of "Lightning," "Midnight," "Dragon Tears," "Hideaway" and the nail biting "The Bad Place" or if it's merely an exercise in nostalgia. Regardless, I'm grateful.

Summary: His best work
Review: Dean Koontz keeps me coming back because I like his quick tempo, suspensful plots, and most of all his main themes: Hope, Good triumphing over evil, and individuals triumphing over adversity. However, often times his character choices and plot devices get over used. For instance, in most of his novels that I've read (I've read at least 15 or 20), the main protaganists are either novelists, law officers or both. Almost all include dogs that save the day, and almost all have characters that develop separately and then meet in the end. The great thing about Intensity is that none of these plot devices get used. He boils down his main themes and his ability to keep you on the edge-of-your-seat and comes up with a totally fresh plot.

Summary: You don't need to be in tent city to find campervans
Review: This book is a real thriller and takes you into the mind of a particularly sick serial killer who likes his vacations driving his campervan across America and killing people along the way.

A young woman named Chyna Sheppard visiting her friend's family farmhouse witnesses him in action. Since he doesn't know she's visiting she wasn't on his to kill list. Hiding in his campervan she unwittingly comes along for the ride and decides she must find out who he is and tell the police. Can she accomplish this without being seen?

This is a great realistic book which with Koontz actually highlighting the only flaw it has in the story. What if a victim had a mobile phone? I respect him even more for that, this is a sensational read that you won't be able to put down. You'll never follow a campervan and think the same way again.

Summary: INTENSE!
Review: I am a huge Dean Koontz fan, he hasnt written a book I havnt loved, but this one has to be one of the top 3! As the title describes, this book is intense! I couldnt put it down! You have to find out what happens next. If you saw the cheesy tv movie made from this book a few years ago, do not let it sour you to the book. Bad acting can ruin any movie!!!
