Summary: Boring as I've never seen before
Review: This is the worst book I've ever read in my life. The author describes everything with all detais, what makes everybody sick of reading. Elks, chairs, tables, everything deserves at least one page to describe. It seems that, if you squeeze the book, making all the useless comments flows out, you would be able to read the same history in 10 pages. The only good thing is the vocabulary. Very rich.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An Intense Novel! A MUST READ!
Review: This is INTENSE..(Pun Intended!).....the story takes place over a 24 hour period, but is a great character study of a serial killer and a woman who becomes the heroine. I could not put this book down! A must read for anyone who enjoys thriller novels!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: ONE OF HIS BEST!!
Review: Intensity is one of the best, if not the best Dean Koontz novel I've every read!!! I've read almost all of his books and this one just kept me hooked the whole time. It's very gory at times but it's a great read!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This has become one of my favorite books.
Review: This is the first book I have read by Dean Koontz and I'm already hooked. I really like his writing style. He does a good job of making one want to keep reading. This book inparticular is very suspensful. You keep reading because you want to find out what's going to happen to the main character, Chyna. You see both her point of veiw and the serial killer's in every scene which shows dramatic irony throughout the book. You know what the sick mind of the killer is thinking and feeling which at times disgusted me. This would be one of the only drawback I could see to the whole story. If you are disgusted easily you might not want to read this. I personally found it interesting to know what a serial killer might think. Koontz does a nice job of painting a picture through words. I can imagine every little thing that happens and is thought. I can see the deserted woods where the killers house lies and the large trailor that he drives. I know exactly how Chyna feels through what she says and does. Koontz also does a very good job creating unique and interesting characters. The one that stands out is the killer. He lives for the intensity in everything he does, hence the title. He thinks he can feel everything; the trees, the rain, music, the screams of his victims, and it rushes throughout his entire body. He savoirs every moment of everything he does. Honestly, this is unlike any book I've read so far. If you like to be kept on the edge of your seat this book is definataly the book for you. I would recommend it to both males and females. Even though the main character is a woman, the killer is male and it contains enough action to keep both sexes happy. Overall, this is one of the best books I've ever read.

Summary: INTENSE!! It just didn't have a slow page within it.
Review: Once again, Dean Koontz fails to disappoint me. I was never very sure about what was going to happen next, and when I thought I knew, he often proved me wrong. Chyna Shepard is a well written character, strong when she least wants to be with a past that would hinder most anyone. And no killer could be as fascinatingly brutal and ruthless as that of Edgler Vess, he's brilliant, but psychotic in the most insane way. A man who enjoys killing without reason or fear, but rather for the sake of experience and sensation. Because the whole story was played out in 24 hours, it moved fast and was practicully thrilling to the last page. Kind of follows the name. Intensity.

Summary: DON'T FALL ASLEEP READING THIS BOOK!
Review: This was the BEST OF THE BEST of the 10 or so Dean Koontz novels that I have read. I was on a plane reading this book all the way home, I fell asleep and thought that Edgar Vess was after me. You think Freddy Kruger was bad, meet Edgar Vess. This is a bone chilling, throat slitting horror story. You'll jump at every noise while reading this one. DON'T GO TO SLEEP!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Koontz's darkest hour!
Review: Intensity is by far the darkest work that Dean Koontz has published. With its implied and expressed violence, little is left to the imagination of the reader, who by the end of the novel gets into the mind of the demented villain Edgler Vess.

Like with many of Koontz's novels, the hero is a female and here Koontz spares little in the heroic deeds performed by Chyna Shepherd.

I look forward to more if this work from the "Master of the Macarbe" himself.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Hard hitting action from page 1 - Loved it!!!
Review: Koontz is unbelievable ! I don't even read Stephen King anymore - This book has no build up, the pace is hectic and nerve-wracking starting in chapter 1. Once started, you can't put it down. The title really does tell it just like it is.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Riveting and Action-Packed from Page One
Review: I cannot believe how utterly vividly he set the setting of this thriller. This is a must buy book and a great book for people who are reading their first Koontz book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Captivating, Brilliant and Truely Intense!
Review: I have read just about everything that Dean Koontz has written and this was the fastest paced, most brilliant and the most intense novel yet. Koontz grabs you from the beginning and will not let you stop reading until you have turned every last page. It took me a single day to tear through this novel. Koontz is the master of plot twists, and he never disappoints in character depth. He allows the reader to know the heroine's (or hero's)motivation, and doesn't allow his characters to come across as phony, or shallow. You are rooting for her every last second. I loved this novel. Some other Dean Koontz novels I enjoyed: Dark Rivers of the Heart, Midnight, Lightning and The House of Thunder.
