Rating: Summary: great book! Review: Dean Koontz is a great author. I love the way he puts detail into his stories and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Now, I'm onlly 14 but i still know a good book when i read one, and this is a very good book and I reccomend it to anyone who likes detailed, "cool" books.
Rating: Summary: It was a chilling novel and i could not put it down! Review: This book talks about a young lady who is trapped in a killers footsteps and she tries to find outhis real secrets.
Rating: Summary: Riveting!! Couldn't put it down Review: I don't know what's the matter with all the other reviewers I've seen here. Disappointing, this book is not. I read one 'reviewer's' comments on Dean's metaphors. They are plentiful, yes. But, they really put you in tune with what's going on and what feelings are being experienced. Expand your vocab. will ya?
Rating: Summary: Too much monotony Review: It was alright I guess. The only problem is that Dean Koontz spent too much time speaking of the same thing. It gets a bit boring. But it is not too bad.
Rating: Summary: A very suspensful read. Review: I have been very disappointed in some of Dean Koontz's books as of late. However, Intensity has restored some of my confidence in him. This book was very good. The Serial Killer, Vess, is increasingly creepy. I loved the way that we got to see his point of view and hear some of his twisted thoughts. Perhaps the best part of the book is the suspense. There is tons of it. Koontz does a good job at leaving us hanging at the end of chapters and wanting to read on. In addition to suspense, the characters are surprisingly good. The main character, Chyna, was very well developed. I liked the way that her past was integrated into the story. Although it was slightly annoying that she acts like a superwoman at times (fighting off attack dogs with cleaning solution) it goes with the territory in such a book. All in all, a great read!
Rating: Summary: Way to bland, there was no plot. Review: For the first time, I couldn't finish a Dean Koontz book. I just couldn't rationalize the choces she was making. Not to mention that Dean needs to do some research and realize there is no such thing as a basement anywhere in the Fl Keys. So I was forced to give it a one and have it feel like money lost.
Rating: Summary: Metaphor....Metaphor...and did I say Metaphor? Review: My first Koontz book. Wow. The story line popped up between zillions of metaphors....like weeds popping up through flowers that blow gently like a mother's kiss to her baby. UGH. Interesting plot - great to be in a 24 hour period during the book, but my gosh, the metaphors. Really made it hard to plod through. Disappointed.
Rating: Summary: disappointing thriller Review: Intensity is a dark thriller that just lacked suspense. Not to mention the ending was hasty and rushed. Koontz should just stick with writing about the supernatural. For a real scary novel, read Phantoms, Fear Nothing, or Seize the Night.
Rating: Summary: Good, but he's done better Review: This one's somewhat unique in Koontz' catalogue: very compressed in time and space (only about 24 hours), which does give it a certain "intensity" of pacing. However, at the same time it's too limited in scope to be counted one of his better efforts.
Rating: Summary: INTENSE!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This book definately lived up to it's title! It's one of thise books that you read while you're eating! Fast-paced, heart-stopping, amazing! Koontz is THE master of suspense!
