Rating: Summary: It is a reality I hope I never have to face. Review: I'll admit, the first time I got the book it took me a month to read the first chapter. I like getting into books right away. When I got to the second chapter, I could not put it down! I spent nights reading as late as midnight. I usually spend up to two days reading most 300+ page books. But I finished this one in a hurry!! I was a little disappointed in the ending, but overall I really loved the adventure that happened throught the book. I can't wait to finish Dean Koontz's Fear Nothing so I can re-read Intensity!! I hope Fear Nothing is as great as Intensity!!! I just could not put it down!!
Rating: Summary: Greatly and sadly dissapointed with Koontz Review: How many words does it take to convince me Edgler Vess is bad? Or that he is a sociopathic, wide eyed maddened killer. At times I forget the plot of the story by the time Koontz finished his ten page wordy description of how the moon hit the asphalt! I am a huge fan of Koontz works but this was the most absolutely frustrating of all his works for me to have to endure.
Rating: Summary: Intensity lives up to it's name! Review: As you read "Intensity" you become one with in the story. Koontz takes 24 hours and makes his heroin take a gut check. Although there were parts that dragged along, 95% of the book kept you guessing and hoping that Chyna receives her justice.
Rating: Summary: Intense indeed Review: Being set in a mere 24 hours naturally makes the novel fast paced. One of the eeriest things for me with this novel was the fact that I envisioned Edglar to look like Lucas Buck from American Gothic, so when the ending came up I was rather taken aback. Once you read this, try and come up with as many words as you can out of the words Edglar Foreman Vess, I think I've found over 100 so far.
Rating: Summary: A quick, exciting read, but flawed. Review: At a certain point I really thought the female protagonist ought to go to the police...this is one of those stories where the central character becomes so focussed on catching the killer herself that she acts foolishly. I also found her memory of her mother and her mother's boyfriend to be beyond belief in terms of their bloodlust and their rather vague political "causes".
Rating: Summary: BORING Review: The Intensity doesn't deserve to be a NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER. The plot is NOT intense at all though it has a surprising ending.
Rating: Summary: Dean Koontz at the peak of his prose. Review: As a loyal Dean Koontz fan, I can honestly say this is the book against which all of his others are judged. The whole story takes place in 24 hours and Mr. Koontz takes you through every sight, sound, taste, and smell throughout this exciting page-turner. His descriptive style makes this work's journey every bit as exciting as its destination.
Rating: Summary: BONE CHILLING Review: This is Dean Koontz at his best. Intensity did not have one boring moment, my palms were sweaty the whole time I was reading a real page turner.
Rating: Summary: best book i ever read. i got audio book after i read it. Review: if you want to read a book where the character is developed tothe max. READ THIS. edgler is a recreational serial killer who'seoff the wall. yet when he did something insane i found myself saying,"that makes no sense, but wait a minute...that's exactly what edgler would do." THIS IS THE BEST BOOK I EVER READ. GOOD WORK DEAN!
Rating: Summary: Intense! Review: Koontz at his best. Not quite as good as Watchers or Sole Survivor but very good.
