Summary: THE BEST
Review: This is one book that I could read over and over and never stop. Truly one of his best.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A real thriller by Koontz
Review: I really liked this book. Koontz captures the true intensity of the the situations in his novel. Edgler Vess is one of the most mysterious villains I have ever read about. The only other novel by Koontz that I have read was Tick Tock. So I do not really know the way he writes, but if his other books are as interesting as this one, I am going to read all of his.

Summary: Intense as Intensity can get
Review: Dean Koontz "Intensity" lives up to it's name. By the name you can tell what the book is about-INTENSITY. And intensity is what you feel by reading this book. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and keeps you reading. I couldn't believe how much psychological, emotional, and physical realism King could put into the book. It's an excellent thrilling/horror book and I recomend it to any mature reader because of violent content.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: The book is better then the 1997 TV mini series
Review: I wish I had not seen the TV mini series before reading the book. I think knowing what's going to happen takes a lot away from the book, but even so, this is a very good read. It never drags and the characters are great! All Koontz (and/or King) fans should read this book.

Vess (main/only bad guy) is one sick puppy, but you will love to hate him.

"GOD FEARS ME" -Vess

Summary: An awesome thriller
Review: I thought that Intensity was a great book for any reader. I couldn't put it down, and usually I have trouble keeping interest in a book. Koontz didn't leave any room for boring chapters. Intensity is his best work.

Summary: Intense!!
Review: This book was one of my most favorite! It is amazing how Koontz keeps you at the edge of your seat. I have read many of his books (22 of 'em) and I have been hooked since the very beginning. You just have to read it!

Summary: Intense at what price?
Review: Being a Koontz fan, yet digressing for a few years, I found this one of the most difficult of his books to get into. The very beginning was very interesting, but as time went on, I tired of the book and read it only to see what happened to the exciting Chyna Shepherd. It got better as it went along, yet there were way too many unresolved issues in this book, or issues that could have been expanded on but were shuffled to nil for the sake of prolonging the reader's intense suspense during those twenty four hours. I feel that the end was rushed to the point of insanity! The reader could have enjoyed the five pages, which consisted of two years in the lives of who survived, if Koontz would have turned those five pages into fifty. I admire description, but they play into a story, they do not comprise it fully. The end could have been better than the entire first 400 pages, but perhaps that would not have been intense enough. Still, a good read considering I had no idea what was going to happen! I really liked that aspect of the book.

Summary: Unabashadly Predictable
Review: I've read several of Koontz's books and never have I felt that one of the movies based on his books actually lived up to the text. However, after reading Intensity, I can only think that it would better as a MOVIE than a book. The premise is provocative, if not entirely original, and the action scenes are written well. Several times throughout the book the plot lagged and was redundant. It seemed more as filler between action sequences; the parts where the reader gets a glimpse into Chyna's psyche are excellent, but they too become repetitive. Too many descriptions of dobermans, gleaming knives and cellophane wrappers overwhelm a plot that could have been resolved quicker and more satisfying.

Summary: great suspense
Review: This is the first novel I have ever read that puts the reader INSIDE the twisted mind of a crazed killer, and ...it's scary in there. Koontz' desriptive writing style sets a series of hauntingly real scenes, moving fast towards a remarkable climax. This book has lots of disturbing images and gore, ( which I don't actually care for) but it is nonetheless captivating. Do not begin reading "Intensity" until you have cleared your schedule, friend, because the thrilling story will consume your time and concentration until its very end.

Summary: Incredible page turner!
Review: I have to say that of all the novels I have read by Dean Koontz, this one tops them all. I read this book, my heart pounding, without putting it down once. Only a rare few have I read in one sitting, eating up the words as fast as I could, enabling me to get to the next page. Anyone who picks up this book will finish it to the last word ... and love every minute of it!!
