Summary: Intensity
Review: I loved this book. Intensity was the first Koontz book I have ever read and it got me hooked. The characters and situations are very realistic. I cannot say enough good about Dean's work on Intensity. I ask that anyone interested in being kept on the edge to read this great suspense novel.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Too Little for the Title
Review: This is a truly good book, BUT...the rhythm of the story could well have been improved upon had Mr. Koontz embellished upon the nature of the madness not only with the character, but the madness involved with the dog attack. There is a lack of descriptive detail involving the person under attack, or the abductees thoughts as she sat captive. This is good suspense, but it lacks true horror quality in leaving out the darkest sides of the characters for the imagination. I find the book to be a four star read because of this. If it had delved into the extremely dark and twisted side of human reality on a deeper level, then it would have gotten the extra star to make it a smash hit novel.

Summary: Intense!
Review: I lost 5lbs the first half of the book. My heart was racing and my blood pressure was sky high. Intensity was so riviting I could not put it down without wondering what was happening while I wasn't reading. The suspense was chilling. Koontz's main character was incredibly valiant or just plain obtuse, but very believable. Definitly someone I would want on my team. Intensity, a book I couldn't put down.

Summary: definitely intense!
Review: I cannot see how anyone dislikes this novel. I listened to the tape and that might have made the difference. But still it was the best book I have ever read or listened to. It was my first book by Dean Koontz and I love his work. It kept me so interested that I couldn't do anything else and I had to listen to the whole thing in one night. One of the best parts that made it so riveting was the fact that is all in 24 hour period. I can't stand books that last years and have so many different characters that you can't tell who is who. Faresq, I don't know where you get your taste from or if you have read too many books to keep them straight. But I have to say that you are WRONG on this one. Chyna Shepherd and the killer, Edgler Vess was so well developed that they seem remarkably real! I would recommend this book to anyone! It has the prefect name........INTENSITY

Summary: Show-nuff Intense
Review: This novel was the greatest, one of the best, that I've read by Koont

Summary: Speechless
Review: This is the most riveting novel I have ever read

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Couldn't Stand This Book
Review: Alright, I tolerated it but I certainly couldn't stand it. Chyna Shepard got on my nerves, why not just call the police when she had several opportunities to? Hey you can spell "BORED" out of the letters in my name which is what this book caused me...lots of boredome.

Summary: The definition of tedium
Review: I have read about 12 Koontz novels. They range from outstanding to mundane. This book did not live up to its reviews or praise. It also did not live up to Mr. Koontz declaration that it was the most intense novel he has written. The plot is nothing new, so you would expect infusion of some twists and turns in the story to keep you going. However, he belabors the same points over and over. It is hard to write a riveting story about a 24 hour period of murder and killer and this book certainly does not dispel that fact. I definitely would not recommend this book even to die hard Koontz fans. Read or re-read Phantoms, Icebound, or Strangers if you want to read some of the best Koontz. Don't waste your time with this one.
