Summary: A must read in the dark tower series
Review: This is the book that shows how cunning and caring Roland can be. He travels through different periods of time to meet with his soon to be traveling companions, who really don't have much of a choice at the time but to come to Rolands world were all worlds seem to be at the same time.

Summary: Crazy
Review: This second part of "The dark tower" is even better than the first, although the story is completely crazy, maybe when King himself was mostly depending on his vice to do his work. The action takes place in a beach in the moved-on world, and Roland has to walk along the beach finding doors that lead him to OUR known New York, where he enters the mind of people he has to drag to HIS world and help him in the quest of his Dark Tower. The story is completely unbelievable, but one who buys any book of this series must know that this in fact is a work of pure fantasy, like "The eyes of the dragon". The book is packed with the usual King stuff: crazy unknown animals, one heroine-addicted, one woman with two different personalities, and a lunatic whose hobby is to push people to death. It's a very, very odd book. I regret the fact that the Man in Black has so little part in the story. For me, he's King's character I like best. This book has little to do with the first one in the series, "The Gunslinger". They share the main character, Roland, and his purpose in life, reaching the infamous Tower. Nothing else. There are some parts really funny, specially when Roland is in our world and has problems related to our language. I think King shouldn't have spent a whole book with this plot. It's an easy read, enjoyable. I just hope "The wastelands" is better. And I surely hope King has a REAL BIG surprise waiting his custom readers when Roland reaches the Tower.

Summary: The Best Continues
Review: This was an excellent book in the series. It was very thought provoking and took us from the world of The Gunslinger to a new world with endless possibilities.

From Eddie Dean to Jack Mort...A timeless piece

Summary: Great Book
Review: I truely enjoyed this book, and believe me I'm a true critic. King has never stopped amazing me with his writing ability. He claims to be an author, but I can't believe that. I think he is a true poet, of which there are few in this world.

Summary: A wonderful, though unnecessarily lengthy book
Review: This series is by far the best I have ever read. It flows seamlessly through the genres of fantasy and horror, which is no small task. The Gunslinger had me riveted from beginning to end, loving every minute of it. I was with Roland as he confronted Cort, and stood watching as the boy plummeted into the pit, Roland's sacrifice to the Man in Black. But the Drawing of the Three, though a wonderful story, seemed slow, plodding, and at some points, padded for length. If King had been able to cut down the story to the svelte, streamlined pace of The Gunslinger, I believe this book could have surpassed it's predecessor easily. But the monotonous pace just made me long for a new scene. The flashbacks to Detta/Odetta's memories, though a wonderful storytelling device, were far too confusing and long, as is this editorial, I'm guessing. So, to sum up, this is one of the best stories I have read in a long, long time, but in failing to recapture the pace of the original, this will only be looked upon as a weak second act in a wonderfully rich play.

Summary: A Necessary Step
Review: The Drawing of the Three is my least favorite Dark Tower Book to date. I have never found a series of books that could compare with the Dark Tower series, but this book really only filled the gap between one and three for me. Much like Empire Strikes Back, it is the low point in the overall quest. Unlike Empire, it is not endearing of the survivors. The trials of the book harden the characters and could have been better.

Summary: My absolute favorite...
Review: The Dark Tower series is my absolute favorite literature. It's just good entertainment. If you think you don't like Stephen King, try this series. It's not horror, it's fantasy, and even a bit of sci-fi. You may not like one or two parts, but the whole story is amazing. No matter how many are in the series, I will be forever waiting for the next one! That's the kind of hold it gets on you!

Summary: Imagery at its Best
Review: This book is incredible. The in-depth and visually stimulating descriptions put me into a state of awe. The description of the doors on the beach, the shootout at Balazar's and the story of Jack Mort were written with such detail and clarity I felt as if I was present during the events. In addition, the amazing ability to tie all the characters together and to explain fantastic concepts (i.e the whole concepts of the Beach doors, the relationship of Jack Mort to Detta Walker) made this one of the most enjoyable reads I have had recently. Although many people may not like it, I enjoy that we don't quite know what the Dark Tower Quest is and why it is so engrained in Roland. I just hope that Stephen King finishes the Novel before he passes on.
