Summary: Beautiful!!
Review: I loved this book!! During my senior year of HS.I decided to read it because I had read.. Interview, Lestat and The Queen of the Dammed....so I was morethan willing to read this one..even after I saw that it was well pass 900 pages!! I loved the myysterious feel of the book..the way it made you sit at the edge of your seat, and just made you fall in love with all ofthe characters. I read this book in one week...I just could not put it down. Although the genealogy was very long..and I had to turn back sometimes to make sure I knew who was being talked about..but I found it necessary for one to get the full picture. The book was very well wirtten and put together. I twas all tied together. It began with the young boy seeing a figure roaming the garden alone and so.mysterious...and basically the book came full circle. The boy had now become that figure..he had now traded places that that sad creature..a slave to that house ..and to his own pain. I thought the ending was very profound..yes it ended on a rather depressing note..but I think it was right to end it that way..plus it leads you right into the next installment..which was pretty great too. This book has remained on my top 5 list..it being #1..then comes The Vampire series.

Summary: good, except for the end
Review: I thought this book was very interesting and I read it in about a week. The reason that I gave it 3 stars instead of 5 is because the ending made me really mad. Now I have to read Lasher to find out what happened, and I don't really want to. If it has the same type of ending as The Witching Hour, I think I will burn these books at the stake. The Vampire Chronicles are much better.

Summary: Reading this book seemed like work.
Review: I found this book to be very frustrating. I felt like I was in a rat maze at times. The ending really stinks. Would have rather spent time washing socks.

Summary: The Best Ever!
Review: I just finished reading this book and i can't wait to read it again! I loved the way she brought the characters to life. A must read for devoted Anne Rice fans!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This was my first Anne Rice novel!
Review: I bought this book and it sat on my shelf for approx. 1-1/2 years. When I got around to reading, I couldn't put it down. Unbelieveable read, and although it was supposedly fictional, it has forever changed my perception of witches.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The immensity of this book is unbelievable.
Review: From the very beginnig, Anne Rice captures you and takes you on through the lives of the family Mayfair. She makes you believe everything she writes. From the starting point of the family in Donnelaith to the present holder of the Mayfair fortune, Rowan Mayfair, Anne Rice traps you in the world of the supernatural. The book will enlighten your senses and question whether this family truly does exist or not. The characters are truly alive, from Rowan Mayfair to her lover, Michael to the spirit,Lasher. She describes the different places the family travels through out the centuries and takes you to the plantations of Pourt-ou-Prince to present day New Orleans. Anne Rice goes into such detail that she creates non-fiction out of fiction. Her capabilities as a writer are endless. She will perpetually capture audiences with her hypnotic story telling of the supernatural.

Summary: An awesome read - but long & confusing
Review: I opened this book in the bookstore and the first sentence intrigued me so much that I had to buy it. I found most of the book entrancing. However, it spans so much time and so many generations, that I actually had to make a small diagram on the inside cover so I could refer to it during my read. The ending wasn't really pleasing, but the journey was still worth it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I didn't want it to end.
Review: This book has it all !!! I could NOT put it down. You feel like you are a part of the mayfair family. This book is unlike anything I have ever read. One minute you are relaxed and the next you are on the edge of your seat.I liked this better than Interview With The Vampire, and that was a good book.I would love to see The witching Hour made into a movie.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: You'll want to read it again and again
Review: Rice's best novel to date. I love this book. It is mesmorizing, romantic and beautiful. Full of spirit and charm. Don't judge this book by it's size. It's long but you will read right through it. My favorite Anne Rice book. It is beautiful

Summary: Absolutely Captivating!!
Review: I was mesmerized by this story. Although this is a long book, it was one I hated to see end. Lasher, the family ghost, was seductive, frightening, mysterious. The storie's content was disturbing, at times, yet always exciting and never did the story stall. I highly recommend this book.
