Summary: not your TYPICAL stephen king
Review: i have to admit right away that i never finished this book, but the reason WHY i never finished it was because i had to return it to the library. i just haven't been able to get it out again! it is a FABULOUS book so far, and i definetely recommend it. it has a cool and unique fantasy theme, probably because king didn't write it all by himself.

Summary: Do yourself a favor and read this book
Review: I read this book for the first time when I was a teenager and was absolutely enthralled by it. I have tried many times to share the wonder of this book but most people are put off by it's size.(Big Mistake...no pun intended!) Please don't let this deter you! This is an excellent book by many standards. I can't wait until my son is old enough to read this book. Once you start you become mesmerized by the events taking place. Well written and well loved!

Summary: Talisman, a great book
Review: This was a very good book. Not like anything i have read before. I don't actually like supernatural books, but this was something quit different. It grasps you from the beginning to the end. Especially captivating was the new world Stephen King and Peter Straub had created. A must read.

Summary: It was one of the most creative books that I have read
Review: I liked the book. I couldn't put it down at the end. I thought that the middle of the book got a little boreing, but all in all I would recommend this book for you to read. I enjoyed learning about all the different characters that he met, and all of the obstacles in his way. I feel that Stephen King and Peter Straub put a lot of thought into this book. It was one of the most creative books that I have ever read. This book also has a happy ending and that is what I was looking for as I read this book.

Summary: okay
Review: This novel was.... alright. By any other standards, I would consider it above average. But we musn't forget that this is Stephen King we are considering here - one of the most prolific and (in my opinion) most entertaining authors of this century. And I truly believe that much of his work will continue as true 'literature' (what a subjective term!) throughout the ages. But this piece would certainly not quality. I don't know if the Peter Straub collaboration had anything to do with it, but nevertheless - it is somewhat cheesier than his better stuff. Merely an opinion, but it's why we write these reviews.

Summary: Favorite Book
Review: This is probably the best book King has ever been involved with, and only the finished Dark Tower series may compare to it. It is a twisting plot, seemingly distant from this world but in a peculiar sort of way.

Review: I have read this book many times and my heart goes out to Wolf every time. The characters are so real it is a shock to come back to reality when I close the book. Best of all - a happy ending!

Summary: A Real Page-Turner
Review: I think that this is one of the best books by Stephen King. When he teamed up with Peter Straub, they created one of the best novels in history. Anyone who reads this book will begin on a horror filled adventure to keep you up all night.

Summary: I cannot sum this book into one line...
Review: I got the book for my birthday when I was nine, and since then (ten years) I have read the book to tatters! The cover was lost long ago, and masking tape is the only thing keeping the book from falling apart. So, why do I love the book so much? This is strange, but here goes. When I was nine, I read this story of how a twelve year old boy travelled across the country to save his mother' life. The book empowered me. I remember thinking "Sure, if I were twelve, I could do that if I had to." Over the years (and many readings later) I finished the book for the Xth time, and realized that I was twelve. It was really kind of a strange moment for me, because I remembered what I had thought to myself three years before. I reexamined my situation, and concluded that, yes, if I had to, I could still have done what Jack did as a twelve year old. Now, looking back, I am inclined to doubt whether any twelve year old could go through what Jack did and not die or go insane. Years of becoming an adult have led me down the path of underestimating the youth of the world. But, then I remember what I thought when I first read the book, and what I thought when I was twelve, and it's like I can reconnect with what it was like to be a kid, with the ideals I had at the time. Doing so has done a great deal for me; it prevents me from passing judgement so quickly on the "naive" youth of the day, and forces me to realign my current ideals with those that I cherished in the past. In short, I guess, it's helped me hang onto my childhood. I'm not sure if the book will do all of this for you, Potential Reader, but judging by the other opinions on this page, I bet it could. Buy it for yourself this Christmas, or for your kid or your friend's kid. This book is just as timeless as Tom Sawyer, and so much more empowering.
