Summary: Libraries have always freaked me out!!!
Review: LOVED the library policemen...Libraries have always, for some reason or another, given me the creeps - strange people work there, and they always have a hissy-fit if you forget to return your books on time. Library Policeman really hit home for me. LOVED the Langoliers also. I saw the movie before reading the book - and after reading it, I rented the movie again. Book is alot better, but definatly see the movie also. Now, I can only hope that Library Policeman'll be made into a movie! Wouldn't that be great???

Summary: S'okay book, but....
Review: I have read just about every book SK has ever written. This is not one of the more memorable ones, but I did thoroughly enjoy "The Langoliers" and "Sundog."

Summary: I've read The Langoliers, and i hope its all this good
Review: I just finished reading the first story in the book, The Langoliers. I was totally blown away by this, for at first, it seems like a relatively predictable, even slightly boring book, nevertheless, I (being a flight instructor) picked it up and started reading...and as I did, the story got continually more complex with each page; judging the content at the beginning of The Longoliers, i would have NO CLUE as to what the end would be like...King weaves a horrific science fiction plot that expands human horizons on such subjects as time travel, space, and the general universe. There are absolutely NO loopholes in the plot of this novel...everything from the very accurate information on aviation, to the intriguing aurora borealis study, to the eerie clues that the illfated passengers of flight 29 recieve (indicating that something is terribly wrong), is perfectly rendered by the author, and is BY NO MEANS TRASH! I wish to stress this point! One should at least read the beginning of the story rather than deciding that the context is "uninteresting," and putting the book down. I think, however, that the previous statement is almost not needed, for in my opinion, other people will see the genious in the story too, just as I have. I sure hope his other novels and stories are as good as this!

Summary: Nice variety, but....
Review: "The Langoliers" was the best story in this book; it's almost science fiction, but, of course, still has a frightening edge. "Secret Window, Secret Garden," with the ominous Shooter and the determined main character (forgot his name), was pretty good. "The Library Policeman," however, was repulsive and perverted. The librarian (forgot her name, too) was detestable and disgusting, and the main character was wimpy. "The Sun Dog" was DUMB. The story didn't even start to MOVE until the end, where it faltered and fell with a freaky (and dumb and slowly-moving) ending.

Summary: Ranking: (best to...) Langoliers, Library, SunDog, and SWSG.
Review: The Langoliers, very interesting story. Wasn't as predictable as I thought it would be. The Library Policeman was very excellent. Great characters in both of those stories. I'd recommend the Library Policeman to any younger reader, for it has gore but not as much as the others. I've only recently gotten the book, so I haven't read the Sun Dog yet, but it has to be better then then SWSG. Don't bother reading that one, it's not very interesting and has an awful ending.

Summary: If you enjoy descriptive ficton, King is the man
Review: He is a very discriptive writer with many talents. "The Langoliers" and "The Library Policeman" were excellent. I had no problems getting involved in the story, or envisioning the characters. I have read most of his stories (excluding the fantasies) and thoroughly enjoy them.Thank God he's a devilish, twisted man. It keeps me going in this insane world :) ps: I agree.."Sun Dog" has a cool ending.

Summary: Mediocre. But what do I know? Nothing, I tells ya.
Review: I'm no Stephen King fan. I don't claim to have sophisticated tastes in reference to novels. I like my technical manuals, I do; fiction and I fail to mix like so much alcohol and Benadryl. Whereas the greater majority of readers found this collection "impossible to put down", I found it relatively easy to put down. Several times. In one sentence. I would often pick it up only to find myself putting it back down in the middle of the pick up. Yes, put it down I would. But that's just me. I can do without the lengthy, predictable TV-readiness of "The Langoliers". "Secret Window, Secret Garden"? Kathy Bates to star. Gee, every story seemed prepared to jump from the pages onto the television screen. Still, 3 stars seems fair. Fair because I didn't feel the need to burn the book when I finished it. Fair because, after all, I read all four stories without skipping 30 pages here, there, and over here again. Entertaining frivolity, it was! I don't need to recommend Stephen King to anyone; his fans seem very angry, defensive, and loyal. So I'll be quiet now.

Summary: The Langoliers is the best I've read yet
Review: The Langoliers has to be my favorite short story. All about a pilot who is flying to Boston to see his dead ex-wife's funeral. On the way, the plane goes through the mysterious aurora borealis and somehow a time rip. Everyone awake evaporates and the remainging 11 try to figure out what is wrong. A pyschic blind girl hears the langoliers who the mad business guy, Craig Toomer says are the Langoliers who feed on the lazy people of yesterday. There is romance and death and they try and escape before the Langoliers come and eat up the world of yesterday.

Summary: Excitement entirely
Review: A book of four short stories that will capture your imagination. Nonstop thriller will take you to the edge of your seat and back. A perfect picture of all the abilities and creativity of Stephen King.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: I loved 75% of this book
Review: Well, I agree with another reader; 3 out of four ain't bad. The Langoliers in first, The Sun Dog in second, The Library Policeman in third, and somewhere (way back there) in fourth is Secret Window-Secret Garden. But don't let that defer you from buying this book. Three of the four afore mentioned stories are absolutely unforgettable!
