Summary: A MUST READ!
Review: This is truly one of the best, most enthralling books I've ever read. It rivals "The Stand" in originality, plot twists and imagination.

Don't even think of passing this one up. King, Koontz, Rice, eat your hearts out!

Summary: Very well done
Review: Swan Song is an extremely well written novel. It grabs you from the start and keeps you hanging on for the duration of the novel. The nuclear scenes are chilling and the character development is second to none. Aside from a lackluster, somewhat unbelievable ending, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This novel will continually be compared to King's masterpiece the Stand. Although it does not beat the Stand, it definitely comes close.

One criticism I have is that of McCammon's two gems- Swan Song and Boy's Life, if that he seems to have drawn upon and even mimicked King's work in the Stand and the Body.

Purely as a writer, I really enjoy his work, and look forward to reading other works by him. Swan Song was excellent and worthy of five stars. I strongly recommend it.

Summary: As Bright as a Nuclear Blast
Review: The ABSOLUTE best I've ever read. Civilization is lost and the reality is that most everything civil is lost with it. Survivors like Macklin & Sister would most likely be the people to weather the storm in real life. Let's face it.... This is GREAT fiction!!!!!!! Underline Fiction.

Summary: Non stop action
Review: This book gets interesting at about page three. From there, the action doesn't stop until close to the 910th. For a full length novel, at age 12 I read this book in three days, while attending school. If this book captures the immagination of a child for three days straight, it is a very good book. Its easy to understand, yet very vivid in description of detail. None the less, Mr McCammon has done a WONDERFUL job of going into character description and haveing the characters move at a pace fast enough to keep interest at a peak througghout the book, yet slow enough to be detailed.

This starts out with character introduction yada yada yada as with any book, then the events leading to the nukes are done... then we get to see one of our heroins in the book avoid a flamewave and dive under some water subway in NYC. Meanwhile, out in the Rockies, a child has to cut off a Colonel's hand to free him from the debris of what was NORAD. All the meantime, the mystical portion begins as a piece of equipment that acts as a translator at one point in time shows its face. This piece is where the book gets a good draw on imagination from. The ring hums and glows, and does wonderful helpful things. Eventually, all this comes to a head, and all I can say is amen. Very good book, one of the best I have read, and I am 27 now.

Review: This is the first book I've read by this author - I can't get it out of my head. Subsequent books pale in comparison. Great read!

Summary: You won't put this down
Review: I started reading this book before spending a month in Fort Lauderdale. The intention was to read it over the month, a couple of pages at a time.I could not put it down.Heavy going at first, but once the characters become established and their lived intertwined, you just want to keep on going.Yes,some of it is predicatable, but one of the only book I have read, which has (almost) made me cry,and I was gutted when I did read the last page. Highky recommended,

Summary: Say It Ain't So!
Review: What can I say that has not already been said about this incredible author and fantastic book? I've read everything by RMcc and this book in particular screams to be a movie! If you loved Swan Song then go out and get They Thirst and Bethany's Sin both out of print and both literary gems.

Unfortunately, according to my sources, Robert McCammon has put down his pen and retired from writing. If this is true then the genre has lost a true storytelling master.

Robert, if you're out there; Pleeeeaaaasssse GET BACK TO WORK!

Summary: Move Over Mr. King, Robert McCammon Is Here
Review: Fantastic! From the first page to the very last you will not be able to put down this book! Its like 'The Stand' on an adrenaline rush!

Summary: Where is the movie?
Review: I'm not sure if this can be made into a movie and still come across as good as it is in print, who could play Swan, or Sister? If it (the movie) could come across as good as the book, look out The Stand, but Stephen King didn't always come across on the screen as good as his books, so I wouldn't want to see that happen to this story. I have passed this book on to many pepole who liked this kind of story and where beyond pleased. So now most of us search in earnst for something that might fill our hunger for a story such as this, read it and get hooked!!!

Summary: Swan Song
Review: I have read many books by many authors, and all of a different variety. I often find it hard to relax and concentrate on a good book after being wound up from a long day. But this book kept my interest throughout it's entirety. I loved this book and could not wait until I could get a minute to myself to continue reading. One of the best books I have ever read. I would recommend it to anyone.
