Rating: Summary: This story will remain with me forever Review: First of all ..I have read this book over 50 times in the last 4 years, I lost my 1st copy when my bag was stolen and it was the ONLY thing in the bag that I could not live without ...I highly disagree with the reviewer who wrote that Swan was too sweet... Swan was Good and strong, she is the perfect example that innocence can survive anything that evil can throw at it. Out of all the wonderful characters in this book, Sister is my personal favorite, she is imprinted in my mind FOREVER and when I get to the end everytime I cry my eyes out ... never has any character had such spirit and courage. I can honestly say this book has changed my life..in many ways ... READ IT!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable read if you can suspend disbelief Review: I enjoyed this book, but I still like Stephen King's The Stand better. The main reason is that the characters in Swan Song did not have enough depth. They were either "good" or "bad." I would have liked to see some of Swan's bad traits and some of Alvin's good traits, for example. Very few people, if any, are either purely good or purely evil in real life, and I felt that this is where Swan Song lacked credibility. Sometimes I actually felt like cheering for the bad guys because Swan was just too sugary sweet. Other than that, it was a decent book, worth reading.
Rating: Summary: I would recommend this novel to everyone! Review: The only reason I don't give it a 10 is that there just might be (maybe!) a better all-around horror novel out there!
Rating: Summary: If you want to sleep tonight, do not start this book!! Review: Previous to Swan Song I had never even heard of Rober McCammon. What an injustice! The prose and content of this book are stunningly vivid. Unlike many books of the genre, this title tackles the taboo subject of nuclear war with remarkable effects. It is by far one of the best books I have ever read. READ IT NOW!!!!
Rating: Summary: A perfect 10 rating! Review: This book changed my way of thinking. I have read it numerous times and I'd have to say that it is the best book ever. Swan Song depicts the worst of evil and the best of human triumph. In a land changed forever you'll find yourself rooting for Swan and her friends. This epic journey gives belief in the human spirit and the will to survive. What would you do in the same situation? Read this harrowing novel and link into the minds of people just like us who have the will to live and the strength to fight evil.
Rating: Summary: This is the best book I ever read.McCammon write more! Review: This is a fasinating story of human kind at its best and worst. It is a remarkable story of servival. The charactors show the different approaches to staying alive and how they contribute to one another to live. It shows evil is its own destroyer.
Rating: Summary: OH MY GOD!!! Review: This is by far the best book that I have ever read in my life. It is about that little discussed subject of nuclear fallout. McCammon brings out the best of his skills for this one and I have never read a book twice except this one and it will still be worth reading a third and forth time. Get it, Read it, and Read it again.
Rating: Summary: McCammon's the man. Review: "Swan Song" changed my life. It made me want to be a writer. King comparisons are pointless. Like Van Halen vs. Led Zeppelin. Pointless. Pray to God nobody ever tries to film this book.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely one of the 10 best books I've ever read! Review: This book is so filled with emotion, it really makes you care about the characters and the tragedies of a post-nuclear America.
