Review: With Armand, Ann Rice gives us another masterpeice of vampire literature, and the world can now read some more about a vampire who wants to live forever by sucking people's blood and killing some animals. As in her previous work, Rice presents the world of the vampire, where the vampire wants to live forever, sucks people's blood and kills some animals. But in Armand, there is a surprising new twist ...uh...well..I guess there's really nothing new here, come to think of it. But nonetheless, the world owes a great dept to Ms. Rice, our mistress of the dark from New Orleans, for her pricelss tales of vampires who suck people's blood and kill animals so they can live forever. Bravo!

Summary: One of The Best
Review: One of my favourites. I was thoroughly dissapointed by Memnoch and Pandora and this restored my faith in Anne Rice. I have not yet had the pleasure of reading Vittorio but I hope she keeps up the trend with this style of writing.I was not offended by the relationship with Marius bacause, unlike other people, I am apparantly able to differentiate between fiction and reality. If I had any grievances with the book, their names were Sybelle and Benji. I could not find a point to their existence, but Anne usually has her reasons, even if we aren't made aware of them at first. I wholly enoyed this book. More on Bianca please Anne!

Summary: Affecting, absorbing reading!
Review: What can I say that others have not already said on this forum? Simply this: Lestat used to be my favorite character. Armand was not much more than an intrigueing enigma to me until I read this book; now he has superceded Lestat in my favor :-> To those who would have a ragingly heterosexual vampire, might I suggest you read The Vampire Vittorio; he is the Italian Stallion of Vampires. As for myself, I read Anne Rice for the sense of decadence that only she can provide. Reading her work is comparable to biting into a dessert which I know has fat grams and calories in the stratosphere, and loving every minute of it :-)

Summary: GOOD BUT NOT THAT GREAT
Review: I couldn't wait to read this book. It was pretty good in the beginnign but then it got kind of boring. The part about Russia was okay, but let's face it Anne Rice's latest books (i.e. Memnoch, Pnadora) just haven't been as good as IWTV and TVL. The part about homesexuality and pedophilosm doesn't really bother me. I mena, come on, this was 500 years ago!!! People were different back then. They married when they were 12-13 years old. It's no big deal! Besides, any mortal compared to Marius would be young. One thing I DID NOT LIKE was the part about religion, God, Devil. It was boring and I didn't like reading it. This is supposed to be a SCARY HOROR BOOK!---not something about god or the devil. It wasn't even scary. Two other things I didn't like. Sybelle and Benji. They were boring and frankly they should have never been made vampires. And Claudia. Those awful Frankenstein-like experimanets that Armand did were just horrible. I cringe whenever I think about it. Anne Rice didn't have to write about that! Everything else was just fine. I really liked the book and it was a LOT BETTER that Memnoch the Devil or Pandora. It's a great book and you should read it!!!

Summary: an exquisite thread in the tapestry!
Review: I completely devoured The Vampire Armand in 2 days - and I wanted more. This book with its beautiful and romantic characters is an exquisite thread that weaves perfectly into the tapestry of the world that Anne has created for her readers. It is a book to relish more than once and though sad at times, it is completely refreshing. As with all her works, The Vampire Armand is not only an escape from the everyday world, but also a thought provoking trip into the realms of your own mind.

Summary: Immensly Satisfying!!
Review: After painstakingly finishing "Memnoch the Devil" I had started to loose faith in Anne. The Vampire Chronicles are my all time favorite. I don't just love them, I ADORE them. I found "Memnoch" to be so drawn out and lacking in excitement, I had to force myself to finish it. Then when I saw "The Vampire Armand" my hope grew anew. Not only did it live up to my expectations it exceeded them. It was exactly what I needed from her. Armand is so incredibly sexy in this book every woman and man will dream of being with him, I know I did. Reading this was like "hot cocoa on a warm winters night". It really hit the spot. It also gave me an appreciation for "Memnoch", without it some of the best content of "Armand" would not exist. The ending was PERFECT. I walked away daydreaming about it for weeks. Now I can't wait to read "Pandora" and "Vittorio", the only 2 I havn't read. Thank you, Anne, for restoring my faith in you and giving us back our beloved vampires.

Summary: A Wonderfully Viscous Page-Turner
Review: Though I finfished the book in 2 days I still enjoyed it thoroughly. The story of Armand and his many lovers intrigued me. Almost wandering why god did not create these beautiful dark creatures of the night. I recommend this book to anyone who has enjoyed teh vampire chronicles. A book that lives up to it's author.
