Summary: Greatest horror I have read to date
Review: I was walking through a store one day looking for horror and I saw this book. I had never heard (or maybe slightly) of HP Lovecraft and now that I have read this book I am astounded. This is the BEST book in the horror section that I have read. I plan to expand a library of HP Lovecraft titles soon. GREAT BOOK, I recommend it to anyone.

Summary: A fantastic intro to one of the greatest horror writers ever
Review: This was the book through which i was first introduced to the chilling, and often bleak world created by Lovecraft. As far as I can tell, no other author has come close to capturing the dread and despair conjured by Lovecraft. He was a genius who died far too early, and recieved far too little credit in his own time. This book is a must for all true horror fans. It contains some of Lovecraft's most potent writings, including a sizable selection from his famous "Cthulhu Mythos" series of stories. This book is one of the best general overviews of Lovecraft's short career. I recommend it to all readers intersted in learning what horror truly can be.

Summary: Simply Amazing
Review: This is probably the best book I have read in years. I was itroduced to H.P.Lovecraft through my love of Fantasy games(Call of Cthulu). I was curiouse to learn about the stories that the game was based on. I am amazed at just how great this book is. I'm 1/2 way through Shadow Over Innsmouth and loving every word. My only regret is not having heard the name Lovcraft sooner. Anyone that reads this document please tell the nearest person just how good Lovcraft is. Maybe one day soon he will receive the recognition he deserved.(R.I.P.) I also wish to give a warning to anyone that is interested in Lovecraft: avoid The Watchers Out of Time. Every story in the book is actually by August Dereleth despite the fact that the cover says Lovecraft. Dereleth did study under Lovecraft but in my opinion he was not nearly as good a writer. Finally I would lik to say READ THIS BOOK!!!!!

Summary: Truly Chilling
Review: This is the best anthology of Lovecraft I have read. It is a good cross-section of his work, and culls the ranks of some of his less inspired works. The two best stories in my opinion are "Rats in the Walls," and "Pickman's Model," or perhaps "The Outsider" is one instead of "Pickman's Model."

Summary: Your Standard Lovecraft
Review: Contains most (though not all) the same selections as Arkham House's hardbound "Dunwich Horror and Others", the standard volume of Lovecraft's best, as well as Robert Bloch's essay "Heritage of Horror."

For horror readers who merely want a good read of Lovecraft's best, this is the book to have.

For serious fans, this is your reasonably priced, well produced reading copy, to keep your Arkham House title less chewed. Be aware, though, that these stories may NOT reflect the mid-'80s corrected texts, if this is important to you.

Summary: Look no further!
Review: I read lots and lots of horror. I like to jump from author to author, and from one book to the next. But, the one author that I always come back to is Lovecraft. I will get on a binge of his work for months on end. I never hold on to any of his books longer than a year, though, due to the fact that I loan them out and never see them again!

Summary: One of the best horror writers of this century. . .
Review: The works of H.P. Lovecraft are among the best horror writings ever written. His works inspired hundreds of modern authors, some of the most famous being Clive Barker, Robert Bloch, and Stephen King. I think that anyone with any interest in horror literature should check into the works of H.P. Lovecraft, because he was one of the original founders of the horror genre. Without him, the genre probably would never have reached the popularity that it has achieved

Summary: The Best of the Master of Horror
Review: Howard Phillips Lovecraft is truly the Master of Horror. His writings surpass the genius of Poe, and the dread terror evoked by his words leaves King far behind. Lovecraft preys upon the deepest fears of mankind... eldrich horrors of unfathomable evil. Enter the world of Lovecraft, but check your sanity at the door. "Ia, ia Yog-Sothoth!"

Summary: THE MOST AMAZING STORIES OF TERROR
Review: WHEN I FIRST STARTED READING HORROR, I STARTED WITH THE KING OF HORROR, STEVEN KING. FROM THAT, A FRIEND SAID THAT THE TRUE MASTER OF HORROR WAS H.P. LOVECRAFT. ONCE I READ THIS BOOK, I WAS HOOKED. HE IS THE TRUE KING OF HORROR
