Summary: Sex shouldn't be the focus
Review: First of all, I don't care who Anita ends up with. I was a Jean-Claude fan, but after this book I dislike both options. Richard and Jean-Claude both changed dramatically. Richard got a physical make over and Jean-Claude was forced to get a new mentality. Positive for Richard, negative for Jean-Claude. I wish Anita would just die sometimes. The situation she put herself in is entirely hopeless. Of course, the god-like Anita can probably withstand the end of the world, so she'll make good with a hopeless situation. And this book was entirely horrible. I kept on wondering what the point was and then it dawned on me -- there wasn't one. Yeah, yeah, the focus was getting in bed with Richard. The way that was executed was just hilarious and entirely obscure. Why were they going to rape her again? What was the point in that? Yeah, we can always ignore the fact that Raina was taking over her body and making her do things that

she wasn't willing to do, but when it comes right down to it, who cares? This book was so unbearably bad. The wereleopards have become so dull, but they were annoying to begin with. The only point in them being there is so Anita can learn to be touchy-feely and not worry about it. I just wish someone would put an end to it all. It was such a good series but now it appears to have degenerated into something much, much less.

Summary: Excellent Read
Review: This was a very good book. The conflict between Anita and Richard was steamy and hot. Anita's feelings about Jean Claude and Richard are summed up by the song "What I Have To Do" by Sarah McLaughlin on her "Surfacing" album. It is really cool how the song reflects Anita's conflicts.

Summary: I am totally addicted to these characters
Review: My brother has given me the books to read. Totally Awesome!!!! Can't wait to hear whats happens to Jean-Claude and Richard. And if Anita is able to control her new found powers. Please don't make us all wait for the next book!

Summary: The best one yet.
Review: I couldn't put it down. I gave the first 3 books in the series to a friend and now she is going through withdrawals wating for the next. I can' t wait for the next one. It better be soon !

Summary: I have read this book at least ten times since december.
Review: I love this book and the entire series because it is much like a fantasy book but Anita,Richard plus Jason and the furballs make it so believable.

Summary: Welcome back Richard
Review: Even though this book was pretty frenetic and disjointed, I can forgive all because Richard is back. I am not a fan of Jean-Claude and could not understand why Anita had so much trouble getting over Richard's changing on top of her. She sure can handle other really weird stuff. Richard is the one! Dump Jean-Claude.

Summary: don't want it to end!!!!
Review: Anita Is such a bad a** I love her I do hope that her Jean-Claude and Richard will be getting back together soon in another series. I love Hamiltons work no one eles can compare to her!!!!!

Summary: I Loved this book, we need more Anita Blake Books
Review: I loved the interplay between Anita and her so called boy friends... But I especially like the fact that she is a strong female character and we need more books like her and less...wimpy women...

Summary: Hamilton keeps us worshiping a character we love to hate
Review: Anita's world continues on its merry, scary, twisted way in the eighth book of the series we all love. The only problum I had with this book was the sudden introduction of an entire Zeeman clan within the first few pages of the book. How does he instantaniously get an entire family that we've never heard of before in the 4 books that we've known him? I truthfully don't particuarlly like Anita, but the books themselves have their own shrine in my house. It takes an amazing author to create a main character you can hate and at the same time love the series.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good, but not as good as the rest of the series
Review: I have read and enjoyed all of the Anita Blake series. I highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in something outside of the run of the mill (if there is such as thing) Vampire Slayer books. Monsters are people too is an interesting perspective, started probably by Anne Rice. Laurell K. Hamilton takes it in a different direction by adding on a female lead, who starts as a licensed vampire executioner, who also happents to be able to raise the dead for money (her "regular job" - got to pay the bills).

Can't go wrong with any of them, but for the first time reader, start at the beginning of the series "Guilty Pleasures" - - you'll get to see Anita Blake's change in perspective from killer of monsters to eventually, . . . well, I don't want to give it away.
