Summary: A legendary thriller.
Review: The Relic is, without a doubt, FANTASTIC! This beastly thriller has everything a scarry novel should have: great characters, a strange setting, and one heck of a monster. The middle section gets into a lot of scientific detail, but don't get frustrated. Stick with it. The closing moments will send a chill up your spine and make you look under the bed just to make sure nothing is there. If you were disappointed with the film, read this book. Its 10 times better. The final scene will make you sit and wonder for hours on in

Summary: Excelent, couldn't put the book down!!
Review: Was very intense and inteligently writen. As some parts from the monsters point of view was a great writing style. The movie was also superb. Great acting plus many scary and starteling parts. If i would have to rate the movie I would give it a No Doubt 10

Summary: Thanks for the raves! Watch for RELIQUARY...
Review: We began RELIC with one idea in mind: that there's no slicker, more intriguing, or more sophisticated haunted house around than a natural history museum. We wanted to write a book that would combine elements of techno-thriller with just a touch of horror. In our own search for entertaining literature, Doug and I have always looked for a writer that treaded some middle ground between Michael Crichton, Thomas Harris, and H. P. Lovecraft. In RELIC, we tried to write the kind of story we'd like to read ourselves. ..And, yes, the sequel is coming out shortly, thanks for asking! It's called RELIQUARY and should be available in May or June of this year. Many thanks for your kind comments and your support

Summary: Leaves Jurrasic Park in a cloud of fiction and mystery!!!!
Review: This has to be one of the best books I have ever picked up. Preston and Child have written a book that will leave you guessing until the very end. They draw from a variety of topics that are sure to interest almost anyone. The development of characters is superb, and the plot made it impossible for me to put down. A must for anyone that even remotely liked Jurrasic Park. I can't say enough about Preston and Child, other then I am counting the days until the sequal, Reliquary, is to be released. If you can't bring yourself to read the book, I would recommend at least seeing the movie. If it is as half as good as the book, no movie goer will be disappointed.

Summary: A great book for Science fiction/mystery lovers
Review: I read The Relic before I saw the movie. As it goes I enjoyed the book just as much as the movie, and maybe a little more. The characters were well done. I enjoyed reading about one character in particular. Agent Pendergast wasn't in the movie, but I think that he is the best person in the book. You never knew what he would do next and I was always surprised with his knowledge. The Relic didn't use gore and violence to carry its plot. The interaction between the scientists, and the way that each induvidual reacted to the beast, was very interesting. If you are the type who likes science fiction you will love the way that the scientists piece together the mystery. If you like horror you will enjoy the way the monster kills people. I don't want to give away the end, but DON"T skip the Epilogue. You can't help but gasp when you read it. All in all this was a great book and I can't wait for the sequal

Summary: A dual-author masterpiece
Review: The focus of being on a team is to pool the talents of two or more indiviuals. Preston and Child are the best team I have ever read. As a book, The Relic is a skilled rendition of ficton that could be reality. Many fictions are to be interpreted as possibly truth, but The Relic could be interpreted as realiry told as fiction. I have not yet seen the movie (released Jan. 10), but if it is half as good as the book, it will be the new best all-time film. Write a few more Preston-Child, your last was a masterpiece

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Superb fictional thriller
Review: Preston and Child weave an enthralling story of mysterious violent murders in a museum just prior to the open of an exhibit on supersitions. The development of the main characters and detail provides a spell-binding tale with a Crichton-esque style. Excellent twist in the end, do not skip the epilogue

Summary: A VERY NICE BOOK
Review: I was fully impressed to see a book of mammoth and intersting plot as this book in a scholastic book order. Although in my opinion it had a sort of press cricis (Under going a press crisis with three covers.) Still good.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Almost better than sex!!
Review: As a staunch Crichton fan, when I was told this book was as good or better than anything he'd written, I was admittedly skeptical. Was that concern misplaced! This book will keep you home from work, off your feed, oblivious to the house burning down around you! Did I mention it's fun and engrosing? And, unlike some of Crichton's books, the ending is satisfying, with a twist that'll have you counting the days til the sequel.

Summary: One great read! Incredible!
Review: This is, plain and simple, the best read I've ever had. I had been looking for a book that would give me all of the satisfaction of Jurassic Park for four years, and I found it and much more in RELIC. Preston and Child have a winning combination on their hands! With equal parts of science, suspence, terror, action and great characters, this is not the book to start late Sunday night - trust me on that. I can't wait for the sequel! And be sure to read their other book - MOUNT DRAGON. You won't be disapointed.
