Rating: Summary: Screw the raptors, this monster rules Review: A hard hitting monster story, full of facts so you learn, but full of blood so you stay. The mystery stays until the very end and then has a suprising ending. It's scary, and cool. These two authors could be the next Stephen Kings
Rating: Summary: Simply put . . . one of the best! Review: Reading Relic was a joy! You don't need to slice your way through the author's ego and prose to get at the heart of the story. Preston and Child show a rare talent they entertain their readers with a compelling story line, fast-paced action, interesting turns, and a great finish
Rating: Summary: read it! Review: stupendous, exciting, awesome! reads like a crichton movie, very vivid and taut. i read it in one sitting, couldn't put it down! read it
Rating: Summary: Keeps you UP all night and hiding UNDER you covers. Review: This is a pure, 100% adrenaline rush. Preston and Child has done a superb job to focus on the little things that make this book so great. There is so much attention given to the details that you feel surrounding you is the dark and gloomy corridor of the New york Museum. This book is such a page turner, it is as if the authors put a curse on it, and when you start reading time and reality quickly slips away and minutes turn into hours, by the time you remember to check the time it is 3:00 am. Make sure you tell everyone to wake you from the trance when it comes time for your daily feeding
Rating: Summary: This is a great book!!!! Review: I have read many books during my lifetime and I have long been under the impression that modern fiction is not nearly as good as the ficiton of the past. Well, Douglas Preston and the Relic have proven that belief wrong. This book is intense and enjoyable while it keeps you thinking. What if Dr.Frock's theory is right? What if creatures like the Mbwun really exist? The Relic is an outstanding book, and I would highly recommend it to anyone
Rating: Summary: The bloody animal in the jungle makes a vapire thirsty. Review: What makes this animal kill so much doesn't it have any limits. Guess not the countless of deaths shows this beast to have no mercy. All the blood and flesh described so clearly makes a vampire want to be his side-kick. How can a beast kill so much. This book just makes you never want to go to the jungle for any reason. "The Relic" is better than the "Predator"
Rating: Summary: This book kept me on the edge of my seat!!! Review: I rated it a 9 because it was very suspensful and I never wanted to put it down, but on the other hand, there was a lot of computer jargon that I didn't really like or understand. Since I am a 12 year old girl, it was nice to read a book with a smart female heroine. It was a mixture of a mystery and a thriller, which makes for a very interesting, fun, cool book
Rating: Summary: A book that makes ya Think! Review: I personaly found that this book was a great way to release yourself into a storyline that is enriched with depth and meaning. While you may have seen the movie that was produced from this story, the book is vastly better. It goes further into the development of the characters, oyu will find that you can identify with them all. This author/editor team has accomplished pure and utter greatness with this story. While this book is good in many aspects it lacks in this one single way, you may have to end up re-reading it, because of the complexity of the situations within the twisting and great story line. But re-reading, I have found, is profitable for you can look even more deeply into the story line. I would recomend this book to anyone that is looking for a suspencful story with well developed characters
Rating: Summary: Best book I've read in a long time!! Review: This was just the kind of book I've been looking for for a while. I couldn't put it down and I found the suspense killing (literally). I especially enjoyed
the end with the exhibit. I can't wait for the sequal to come out. Until then I'll just reread the first book.
Rating: Summary: Terrifying until the last page Review: This book is great. It is just what a horror book is supposed to be. Their are classic characters that all represent classic character traits like greed, courage, and cowardice. When the mystery that surrounds the story is finally unvailed my you are still begging to read more. I have read both Jurrasic Park and The Lost World and I would say that this is easily better than both of them. This is a must read for any Crichton or King fan, and is a good book in general for those who just want to scare themselves silly
