Rating: Summary: Easily one of the best books I've ever read! Review: Relic is one of the most interesting, suspensful and intelligent sci-fi\thriller books out today. I picked it up and I couldn't put it down. Every page was suspensful and very well written. Bravo to the authors!
Rating: Summary: What were your views on the movie? Review: This is more of a question. How close was the physical version of the movie monster to the book version, and have you ever considered asking McFarlane toys to create a collectors toy version of the Relic? If so, I would make the toy version more like your original creation unless of course the movie version IS the original. P.S. I am a HUGE fan and enjoyed Reliquary but missed the Museum Beast.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down! Review: I got this book at the library to read while on my vacation. I intended to have the book last for the entire week, but it ended up only taking me two days. I have read many horror and suspense books and this is one of the best. The computer parts were a little unrealistic, but they didn't take away from the book. I was actually scared in a few parts. A must read.
Rating: Summary: Best of the Best, out classes the rest Review: I would have to say that this is one of my most favorite books of all time. No matter how many times you read it you still can't put it down...the "gotta" as Stephen King would say. This book reads more like a movie. Extremely exellent.
Rating: Summary: Nail-biting edge of your seat action! Review: This book was superb. Not one dull part in the entire book. The first chapter was good, scary and original. The second chapter couldn't match the intensity of the first with its scientific mumbojumbo. But the third chapter let it all out! Horror until the last page. Great! This is one of those books that Stephen King and Dean Koontz couldn't match. A one sit thriller that will chill you to the bone. I can't wait to read Reliquary.
Rating: Summary: This is the best book I have ever read! Review: I am not one who reads books. I have bearly any time to read. But when one of my friends told me about this book I said okay. I read it in two weeks! That is a record for me. This is the best book I have ever read. With out a dought! If you like horror books you will love tihs one. I promise!!!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent science thriller Review: I'm not one to normally pull paperbacks from the bestseller list. The content of these is usually the same banal trash designed to feed the impotent minds of the masses. However, after much encouragement from a friend whose opinion I trust, I gave "The Relic" a shot, and I am certainly glad I did. Preston and Child have created a riviting thriller with enough science involved to ground it somewhat in reality, creating a believability factor that actually gives the book some scary moments; that's _scary_, not merely a cheap blood-fest for sales value. They also managed to incorporate the science in such a way that it is keeps the story interesting without going into the excruciating detail of authors like Tom Clancy. As in most novels, a few of the tricks they try with the computer system are hoaky -- I could probably name the authors who can write accurate technology fiction on one hand -- but they obviously did enough research to get most of the computer concepts fairly close to reality. All in all, a good read. I would recommend this book to a wide variety of readers.
Rating: Summary: Thank God, or whomever, there is sequel !! Review: A true masterpiece .... I've been reading "horror" for 25 years and this book is one of the best. It is a ture pleasure to see an honestly outstanding novel that isn't written by the horror factory authors. BRAVO !! The movie was good ... the book is GREAT.
Rating: Summary: A must Read!! King and Koonz eat your heart out Review: This was an amazing book! It will keep you on the edge of your seat. A one sitting read, that is gripping and chilling.
Rating: Summary: Chillingly scary. Review: Awsome book.Scary, graphic, fun, and partially educating this book has it all.The creature is creative but in my opinion the movie version is much more creative and scary. The movie compares with the book, but the book just kept me reading. There were times when it got too wordy and long but this was one of the best books I have read.
