Rating: Summary: Fast paced, exciting, and horrifing Review: I am a 14 year old grade 10 student and I love to read. I read Michael Crichton and Stephan King, but Relic is by far the most suspenceful and exiting book I have ever read. The Museum is the creepeist setting fo this story of suspence and horror, (I have read it 3 TIMES!!!). The tale of a blood thirsty, evelutionary defect that is savagly and brutaly killing people is running lose in one of the scareist settings in the world. Relic first catches you with a brilliant begining, and keeps you hooked throughout the book, and then, (as if that wasn't enough), gives you a brilliant twist at the end. This is brilliant story telling!!
Rating: Summary: It's physically impossible to put this book down. Review: This is the scariest book I have EVER read. The suspense was brilliant, especially the part where Margo is being followed through the Superstition Exhibition by the unseen creature. We've all had nightmares like that! Outstanding book; don't be put off by the stupid movie.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! 100% better then the movie! Review: I read "RELIQUARY" first, the sequal. Since I had seen the movie I felt that I didn't need to read the book. But once I read Reliquary I noticed how much was missing in the movie. What an awesome book! Relic was not as good as Reliquary but it sure was worth every penny I paid for. The only problem with both of these books was the lack of inter-reaction between the characters of the book. I am a Dean Koontz and Stephan King fan and that is what makes or breaks a book. But these two books where so well done that it didn't upset the story line. GREAT WRITING!!!
Rating: Summary: Fast Paced and Chilling Review: I never read books twice but I picked this one up after having read it some time ago and got caught up in it again. The excellent character development is just enough to fill you in without slowing down the plot. The creature is absolutely terrifying as it hides in the bowells of the Mueseum only coming out to meet its special needs. The movie was a piece of garbage not following the book and portrayed in Chicago instead of New York. Several key characters are left out. Forget the movie and read this book.
Rating: Summary: Fun Fun Fun ! I loved this book ! Just the ending... Review: The Relic is the kind of book that makes u want more from gifted writters such as Preston & Child. "Absolutely Stunning" I loved this book until the end. It all comes out perfect, the research, the killings, nothing can top Preston & Child when it comes to Horror/Thrill. I'm 15 and got through this book in 3 days. Nothing could make me put it down..My parents were not happy with their child staying up everynight tell 3 :) The charactors are perfect and my "Fav" FBI Agent Pendergast, so perfect in his part..The ending on the other hand left me hanging just a tad nothing bad..they just could have made so much more..The movie, well dont see it :) Complete waste of time. This is the book u are looking for if u want a good scare, good fun, good reading. <---Thumb's Up
Rating: Summary: Reads like a movie...a bad one Review: Relic is a simple, mindless story that probably appeals to those who like those books that are written after a successful movie. The dialogue is unsophisticated and the plot distasteful.
Rating: Summary: Exciting an amazing reading, this book rocks! Review: I started to read this book at morning but at night, when I was reading the part under the museum I couldn't stop reading. An undesacriptible way of get the reader in action and in ambient. The terrorifimg atmosphere of th e museum lower levels, and the exciting way of describing the guard die at guard's turn end, was amzaing and terrorifing. I just want to read more, so i'm going to buy Reliquary now! To everyone who reads this, I say READ IT!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: This Book is TERRIBLE! Review: I read this book expecting to be entertained by an exciting story. Unfortunently, I was wrong. The book is filled with boring characters, overused cliches, and ridiculuos dialouge. The plot is far fetched and unrealistic. The two main characters solve the entire story based on guesses and conjecture. The ending is abrupt, unsurprising, and so stupid I would have returned the book had I not borrowed it in the first place. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!
Rating: Summary: Spectacular. The 90's version of Jurrasic Park Review: This marvelous book uses the terror and suspence introduced in Jurrasic Park and takes it, not one step, but a giant leap further. This is the supreme horror/thriller. If you have ever read King or Koontz and enjoyed it you'll love this book.
Rating: Summary: A gratifying, enjoyable read. Review: It is a rare occasion that I find a book so enjoyable that I feel the desire to reread it in order to savor the rich description and intricacies of the plot. This is one of them. The storyline is fast moving, and the characters offset each other perfectly. Almost any reader will find himself endeared to at least one of them. Scientific information and the details of the investigation are presented in such a manner as to make the reader more interested instead of losing him in technobabble. Finaly, the 'climax' of the story is richly described and satisfyingly long enough to build up and hold the suspense, never allowing the enthralled reader time for pause. It is one of those books that draws you into its world, and does not release you until it is complete.
