Rating: Summary: Must buy, especially if you've ANY attention span. Review: Stephen King has corrupted my ability to put up with the so called entertainment found on TV. I cannot really enjoy a book that is less than well developed. "IT" is satisfying on so many different levels that it continues to amaze me. At the risk of sounding abnormal, I will admit to having read this novel many times over the years, falling in love with all the characters. As my education has progressed, I have found that King has added so many references to things historical, mythological and theological that I wonder he has time to both write and acquire his knowledge. He has done a wonderful job of explaining the terrors of both childhood and the greying of dreams as we pass into adulthood. I have three copies: A hardback which sits on a shelf, a hardback I use to read, and a paperback that I basically read the covers off of. I hope to get all three signed by Stephen King one day. The thing is, Stephen King makes you SEE his places and characters....so I'll stop now. Buy the book, and buy it in hardback as you will want to read it again and again.
Rating: Summary: A chiller, churns the stomach :it's a perfect horror. Review: IT, is an incredible book about a strange clown that terrorises a small town named Derry, killing mostly childern and teenagers by ripping apart their bodies. The clown seems to already know it's victims names before it kills them. Some of the people that had grown up in Derry and experienced this haunting disaster come back to be rid of IT forever. The book tells how once normal children were turned into mentally scarred, unstable, paranoid adults which face their much forgotten memories of IT. I highly recomend this book for people that are in for a scare. However, IT would not be recomended for younger children because of it's brutal and graffic descriptions. This book is full of excitement and will surely blow your mind. The book also includes comedy and emotion which highlight it's terror and set you shivering from it's frightening tales. IT can also be seen in a movie, but if you are the type of person who likes details, the book is much better. It is a story giving extremely graffic details which can often make the stomach churn or the heart jump. The book is written so that each person's backround story is told first which I must admit became confusing at first. Believe me, you will not want to put the book down once you start. If you are in search of a scare or a thrill, read IT.
Rating: Summary: It was a great book. Review: This book was able to hold my intrest all the way through the 1,000 + pages. It keeps you reading on to find out what happens next. The book let's you understand what true friendship really is, because the main characters stick together the whole way through the book. If you like Stephen King as an author, and you haven't read this book, you must. The age group this book was written to, would be about a high school level. The reason that I said a highschool level was because it is long and it has mature content in it. So,if you saw the movie, read the book, It's twice as good...
Rating: Summary: SCARY - HORRIFIC - SPELLBINDING Review: I've been reading Kings book for quite sometime now... the shining and and Cujo but IT is the BEST! IT combines absolute horror, true friendship and dynamite courage all in a 1000 page book! I promise you, that you will leave the lights on after the first chapter! If your in for a scare ITis the best!
Rating: Summary: The best book I have ever read Review: All of Steven Kings books are good but this is probably the best. I love this book. A true depiction of what true friendship and courage can overcome.
Rating: Summary: IT Will Make You Cry ........"Mama"!!! Review: After reading this book you'll be jumping at the drop of a pin, or better yet, you probably never want to see another clown for the rest of your earthbound days. I read this book in 3 days and savored every moment. Stephen King is the master when it comes to horror. I just can't understand how he comes up with these ideas. Pennywise makes the Boogy Man look like Little Red Riding Hood. Read it and see what I mean. You'll be sleeping with a night light for quite a while.

Rating: Summary: The boy reached and the clown's face changed Review: Loved it....the beginning hooked me in. Two boys float a paper boat in the gutter, when they lose it in the storm drain, they see a clown down there....I whipped through the next 1000 pages to see what happened next!!!
Rating: Summary: Stephen King at his best! beep beep if you don' think so! Review: They float! They all float! And when you get your hands on this one, you'll float, too! This is by far one of the best books I've read. I hesitated for a long time on buying it, being 1090 pages long, but now I wished it was longer! It's one of those books you just can't stop reading. Hats off to King: he'll really make your spine tingle.
Rating: Summary: King's crowning achievement Review: I would begin by hailing IT as the greatest horror novel ever written, except that to label a piece of literature with such a depth and range of emotion a "horror novel" would be similar to refering to " The Godfather" as a "gangster movie." What makes this, and much of King's work so successful are the characters he brings to life. No other writers understand the fears, dreams, and mysteries of childhood like Stephen King. In IT, King skillfully weaves the past into the present in telling the story of seven now successfull individuals who must confront the ghosts of their childhood outcast selves in order to confront the embodiment of evil. The closet is cleared of skeletons as King makes it painfully evident that we must all come to terms with our past and our childhood before we can get on with the business of being adults. If Stephen King's style has been dismissed as shlock, one need only to read IT in order to see that along with a knack for sensatsionalistic horror, King's true genious lies in his storytelling and his understanding of human nature. Finally, as for those who criticize King' s wordiness, I offer you a quote from William Blake: "The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom."
