Rating: Summary: Loved "IT" Review: This is the best one of Stephen King's novels yet. All of them are great, but he hasn't beat this one yet.
Rating: Summary: "IT" Is a superbly written book. Review: "IT" is simply the best book I have ever read. I have read many other horror novels, including more by Stephen King, and they do not come close to "IT". The quote on the book states that the characters are so real you'll feel like you're reading about yourself: absolutely true. There are some parts when it felt like I was Ben Hanscom or Bill Denbrough or Richie Tozier. READ THIS BOOK!
Rating: Summary: A Fabulously Gruesome Funhouse Ride Review: The best. DANSE MACABRE is the theory, I think, of horror, and in IT King shows us his mastery of that theory in practice. Just Awesome. The suspense level is incredible, especially since we all fear for those kids even though we KNOW they survived. The imagery shows amazing mastery of the both popular culture and the secret language of kids. I can't believe how much King's writing about kids hits all the right echoes and rings so true about their experiences and fears. He is indeed the master, and this book is superb. I think only THE SHINING chills me more.
Rating: Summary: IT is the absolute best horror novel of all time!!!!!!!! Review: IT is an enchanting and thouroughly scary story of seven kids whohave to go up against a monster that nearly every child has feared in their deepest sleep. Stephen King writes from a child's point of view in a completely believable fashion. I have read my copy of IT so many times that pages are falling out and both covers have fallen off. I think that everyone should read IT at least once.
Rating: Summary: truly the author's best - he KNOWS children! Review: I didn't want this book to end. It was so much more than just a horror novel; his understanding of childhood, and what it means to grow up thinking you're a "loser" makes the story so touching and believable. Ben, Bill, Bev, Richie, Eddie, Stan and Mike are all so real and so human. I cry every time I get to the part in the barrens when they build the dam together, and when they form the circle in the water. Also, when Mike realizes that his writing is beginning to disappear at the end - it is all so nostalgic and loving and sad at the same time. Stephen King's "IT" is his best work, and shows that the author is truly in touch with what childhood means.
Rating: Summary: It is a really good book, so far. Review: I have reached Book 2: " June 0f 1958", and so far, this book is greater than most of the other Stephen King books ever! I watched some of the movie, but my aunt taped over it. When I see the movie, I hope it is as good as the book (or even better) ! Also, the clown is really freaky when it rips off George Denbrough's left arm. That part was HORRIFYING!!!!
Rating: Summary: a great horror story and a hell of an ending Review: One of King's best books ever. It makes even adults think about what happened when they were growing up and had very strong imaginations. It makes you wonder if your magical imagination you had when you were a child still has the same power.
Rating: Summary: Simply the BEST Review: This is the best of King's work. Period. THE STAND doesn't even approach IT in terms of greatness. If you can only read one King novel, this is IT! I'll always feel like I grew up with Bill, Ben, Eddie, and Bev. What a great author!
Rating: Summary: One of the most masterful books i've ever read Review: When I first read It in the fifth grade, I could not put it down. I've made it a habit to read It every year or two, because every time I do read it, I seem to discover something else. In addition to being scary as Hell, it is also touching and extremely human to watch this group of reject children bond together to fight an evil in their home town and an evil within themselves. Super.
Rating: Summary: It is the most interesting book I have ever read!! Review: I loved It, it is the first Stephen King book I have read. The best part of this book is how IT and the town, Derry exist togther, like the way Pennywise the clow was present at all the horrible events that happen in the town throughout Derry,s history. The reason I only give it four stars is because I found having the kid Bev have sex with all the little boys was unneccisay and gross
