Rating: Summary: this review is totally inadaquate... Review: but i'm going to try.People say that this book is the bomb. It's more then that. It's more then anything. Pennywise is actually the ultra evil.It can do anything it wants to.It can assume whatever shape it wants to, and if It showed you it's true form, you would go instantly mad. But It has one weakness that It dosen't know about.....It bought into hate, fear, pain, and anger because It thought that they were the strongest ways of bringing a child to It, along with releasing a certain taste that made it taste good. But it forgot - or else totally didn't know about - the strongest emotion of all - love. And I believe that It has another weakness, too - it relies on FAITH and BELIEF. If you are an adult, then It is only a silly fantasy - such things don't exist outside of faity tales. But to a child, such things are all too real...and it takes what shape you BELIEVE and FEAR it would come in, if It came for you...but belief is a two-edged sword.
Rating: Summary: An irresistible chiller from the mind of a horror genius Review: For those uninitiated with King's work, 'IT' is possibly not the place to start. The unaccustomed should start with something small. Why? Because Stephen King's 'IT' is as deep as his work has ever been. After reading a single page of this novel, one can be under no disillusion; the man has a gift with words, and a gift for their craft. The story is disturbing and sinister. A child-killer, lurking in the shadows, living off fear, thriving on terror. The form this shapeless killer assumes is a seemingly innocent and harmless manifestation - a clown. Every kid loves a clown, right? Not Pennywise. Right from the outset the book grips you. I was never sure whether I couldn't put IT down, or whether it wouldn't put ME down. Either way, not a single moment was wasted. I cannot speak highly enough of this novel, nor of the man behind it. It took me a month to read cover to cover. It is singularly the most enthralling and powerful horror novel I have ever read, and I recommend it to you without reservation. Take a month off your life...I guarantee you won't look back.
Rating: Summary: And you thought you didn't believe in the boogey man. Review: This book is a rare gem capturing the spirit of the time and the innocence of youth. This is one book where I truly lost myself in the world these brave young pre-teens live and breath in. Wonderfully written. Guaranteed to keep you up all night.
Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE EVER READ Review: Steven King is the best horra writers there is. They scare you to death yet they draw you in and are so well written and believible that you wont be abble to put it down. The big orrgy that went on at the end of the book in the sewer kind a got to me though. Also I live in maine. So it just made the book that much better. When he talks about places you live and places you have been. I recommend this book to any body who likes long books, and can apprecate steven king.
Rating: Summary: The scariest page turner I've read by Stephen King Review: This book is truly scary. The character development in this book is unmatched and I loved the idea of a group of misfits who take a stand and fight back for once. Truly, Stephen King is the greatest. I read this book about six years ago and I still love it.
Rating: Summary: ITs a hair raiser! Review: I first saw the movie when I was 5 when I first saw the movie, I didnt think it was scary untill the seen when PENNYWISE pops his head up and starts talking to Georgy. Oh God it gave me the creepiest nightmares. In one nightmare I could here that demonic laugh in our bathroom. The book which I read up untill the Georgy part gave me more nightmares. Stephen King combined so many scary things in that book, clowns, sewers he even scared me from taking a shower for awhile! If anyone can tell me WHAT really is pennywise I dont think hes human maybe alien.
Rating: Summary: The story holds you in it's grasp until the last word. Review: The novel "It" was by far the best book I have ever read. It is a powerful epic that takes you on a tour through the horrors of childhood and adulthood. The Characters are extreamly well developed that by the time you finish the book you feel as if you have lost a best friend. As the plot unfolds you learn of terrors that one town must face every thirty years. Although It is a rather lengthly story it remains excellent from begining to end. I highly recommend this book to all, even if you are not a King fan.
Rating: Summary: Astounding. Review: I just finished reading this definitive novel of the horror genre for the 4th time (and I'm only 16). I only half-understood it at age 7, but it still remains the root of all my childhood fears. I'm still afraid to look down the drain when I go into the bathroom at night. Those who complain about King's incredibly natural, realistic writing style, there is a certain passage in the book that you may find interesting, that quite clearly states King's opinions on those "pseudo-intellectual" literary critics who poke fun at him...try and find it, if you can handle reading this book, which I doubt.
Rating: Summary: This book RULES Review: This book is the best book I've read in my life and I'm 11 years old. IT rules once i opened it it just wouldn't close.
Rating: Summary: There should be an extra star option for this book!!! Review: I first read this book when I was in seventh grade . I am now in my twenties and have read it four times since. IT is the greatest book i have ever read. And to mister "WAY TO LONG" at the beginning of the reviews I have compiled a list of books that may hold your short attention span: See Spot Run, Fox in Sox, Miss Piggle Wiggle, and if it is the eternal war of good against evil you want there is the epic, Butter Battle Book.
