Rating: Summary: Worth all the days it took to read IT. Review: I was lost in this book. I only wish that the Turtle had not died. Very, very, scary.
Rating: Summary: A Stunningly Wonderful and Terrifying Masterpiece Review: Stephen King just may be America's greatest writer of the later half of the 20th century. "IT" is one of many of his numerous novels to prove my hypothesis. "IT" is frightening (I'm sure people couldn't sleep for weeks, or look down the sewer), but if you look past some of the superficial blood and gore, there is a exquiste world of wonders that King creates in most of his novels. It may sound overused, but you are in Derry, and you are the missing character because you feel for everyone, even Pennywise, who may be one of the most evil villians in Fiction. King is a brilliant genius, and "IT' helps my theroy.
Rating: Summary: a book to be read over and over Review: "IT" was one of the first king books I read,he described so vividly the awe and spirit of a childhood. The age when using your imagination and creativity was such a large part of growing up. The whole story in general was excellent, but I think the part I liked the most is remembering how simple and adventurous a childhood can be without video games and T.V.
Rating: Summary: An awesome work Review: This is probably the best horror novel I have read for one simple reason - it MOVED me. It not only gave me many good scares but I actually found myself getting emotional towards the end. It's subtle sub-themes on friendship and childhood are what make the book work, and the horrifying clown doesn't hurt either!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely fantastic Review: There is slight bias in my review - I am an avid King reader, and I love his work. However, I feel that this is above and beyond his best. It is most likely his most famous work, and justly so. It tells you all about Derry, Maine and the dark secrets locked there. Buy this book!! :)
Rating: Summary: "Hey, Georgie..." Review: I jsut wanted to say that this book was the first " big" book I ever read. I was young at the time, i have always been a horror buff, and it was the only book that has ever made me afraid of something. Ughh, clowns! If you do not usually read King's books, or if you do then you will understand that he always adds more to a story by interludes and in depth history. That is what makes him great. But if you liked this one, then also try BAG OF BONES, it is a reminder of the older books that he wrote, such as IT.
Rating: Summary: It was an exelent book! Review: The book was about these kids trying to stop a monster called Pennywise
Rating: Summary: Pretty Good, but not King's best Review: I have read most of King's books. I have to say that It is pretty decent. I enjoyed the character developments, both as children and adults, as well as the events when the children came back to Derry as adults. The only thing I did not like about this book is the interminable Derry Interludes. I felt these sections of the book were too long and dull. When I read the book now after my initial first reading, I skip the interludes and just continue with the rest of the story. I feel the interludes could have at least been shorter, and that would have made it an easier read.
Rating: Summary: Loaded with Promise, Loaded with 300 Extra Pages Review: This could have been the defining book in King's resume, the be-all, end-all horror tale. And it does show flashes of genius. Unfortunately one quickly gets bogged down and wonders just who edited this book? It could have been trimmed by at least two hundred pages and would have retained all the essential, brilliant elements.
Rating: Summary: No words or reviews can express what this book does to you Review: If there is any book that is worth reading 1000 pages, this is it. if you dont know stepehn king's writing, then you dont know what your are missing. this is definitly THE most interesting and fasanating book i have ever read, and i do read alot. this book will force u into reading for hours without even feeling u spent 5 minutes ! if u like good scary, mind-twisting book, this one is for you !
