Rating: Summary: Simply amazing. Review: I just finished reading this book a couple of minutes ago. Although it is a chilling horror story, quite frightening, this book meant so much more to me. The beautiful reflections of what childhood and innocence are throughout IT truly touched me. King has a writing style that I feel is so unique: He succeeds in both terrifying you and making you think deeper about things; about life in general, I suppose, for want of a better way of putting it. (I hope that didn't sound TOO trite.) At any rate, this is an absolute fantastic book, extremely well-written and meaningful, thoroughly enjoyable and chilling, with nary a dull moment. I can't wait to read another King novel.
Rating: Summary: The GREATEST book I have read in a long time Review: This book is one of King's best. It had me up all night reading it, I just could not put it down. It brought up childhood fears and made them very real. By far the best book I have read in a long time.
Rating: Summary: Mediocre at best..... Review: I have to say, I'm quite shocked and disturbed that so many people find this book "the best they have ever read". The whole thing is floppy and needs a good tuning to tauten up those strings. I won't dwell on this review; make the mistake that King made on his book. So that's it. Average. Horribly, horribly average.
Rating: Summary: One of the best Stephen King books ever! Review: It is an amazing story. Don't let It's length disapprove you from reading this novel. Though not my all time favorite King book, I think that King still did an amazing job of writing it. The part that I found to be the most impressive about this book was the way he would go from telling the story in 1958 to 1985. He would start one sentance in 1958 and finish the sentance in 1985. Also, as always, King does a great job with the character development. I also thought that the book had a good ending. So skip the movie and read the book! Also recommended are the books The Stand and Bag of Bones.
Rating: Summary: My favorite King book Review: This is by far my favorite Stephen King novel. If you don't read the book and decide to watch the movie instead because the book is long, Your missing alot. In my opinion the Book is by far better than the movie, and the ending in the book is much better. Do you have Prince Albert in a can? You do better let the poor guy out! Would you like a Balloon? They float, we all float down here!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Review: This is my 2nd favorite King book ever, next to the The Stand. All the characters are well developed. The only drawbacks are that when you first read IT, the format is a bit odd where it constantly switches between the 50s and 80s. But that also helps it in the way that you sort of read about both Rituals of Chud almost side-by-side. The ending was kind of depressing, the way that they start forgeting about each other. But it's a great book, and Pennywise the Dancing CLown is teh best villaine ever!
Rating: Summary: IT..... Review: ...is awsome. IT is terrifing. IT is magical. IT is one of the best books ever to hit the print press. I read this book (all 1,000+ pages of it) in two days! I couldn't put IT down. Buy IT. Read IT. Enjot IT!
Rating: Summary: IT is the best book ever written! Review: This is the best book i have ever read in my life im only 13 years old but this is the book to buy.I have read this book twice and i would read it again if i get it back from my friend. This book is so realistic when it comes to childhood,I wish this book went on forever but unfortunately it can't.The begginig may be slow but it really picks up and when it does you can't put the book down and you are always thinking.I liked the parts when they were children and they are digging an underground fort.Near the end it gets really spooky, the way stephen king describes the town how it is empty and all 7 kids know this is when they need to put an end to the horror that lies beneath. It is sad near the end when they all start forgetting about each other and you start growing attached to the characters that you don't want to let go.This book is the best thing to ever happen to me.It is depressing to finish because that ends all the joy and fear and surprise. You must read this book i know 1,000 pages is alot but you will understand why childhood is so important.
Rating: Summary: The book is absolutely brilliant. Review: Stephen King is the most brlliant writer of our time, and his most brilliant book (so far) is IT. First of all, when you read about the characters, you fell like you could be reading about yourself or close personal friends. Second, this book is genuinely creepy and uses different styles of writing to add effect. For example, in the section "One of the missing: A tale from the summer of '58", King sets up the murder of this young boy who had a bad homelife by creating newspaper articles. since the population of the town in general has no direct knowlege of the evil existing under the town, the articles are written by ust stating the facts of the dissapearance that they've been able to unfold by the investigation, leaving the reader to infer what happened. This mysterious atmosphere created by this section really enhances the creepiness and makes you really feel the terrifying evil.
Rating: Summary: PERFECT! Review: Couldn't be better. One of my favorite books ever. Loved it all the way through!
