Summary: Last King Book I Ever Read
Review: Ok, there's one thing about Stephen King books that I've always tried to ignore, but this book... [made me way too angry]. This guy really is terrible at writing women. In King's books women are always 1)rescued by the man, 2)protected by the man, 3)whiny and irritating, 4)treated like dirt by the man, 5)of subnormal intelligence. Men always think of women in a condescending way in these books. I'm not a radical feminist, but I'm an independent girl who can defend herself and it annoys me that there are no female characters that I can relate to in any way. This book has one female character whose main purpose is to have sex with the six guys. Come on, Stephen, get with the times.

Summary: Great Book.
Review: This book is a masterpiece, It really shows the depths of Kings imagination. It is also very similar to the book "Ghost Story" by Peter Straub, which I think is where IT originated.

Summary: IT
Review: great book nice start everything you look for in the book. I also seen the movie and its scary and mystery, but like in the 8th page they talk about this turtle but the turtle gave me clues to if the turtle came out in diffrent horror books. Great book.

Summary: Moby Dick of Horror
Review: Just like the blurb in the beginning of the book, this really is the Moby Dick of Horror, hands down. I was apprehensive to start this book, listening to family members that have advised to stick to his "older" books. I'm glad I gave IT a chance. What a story. Unbelievable attention paid to detail, and great characters, as always.

What I didn't understand was the ending. What was accomplished by group sex? I'm lost. Nevertheless, the ending didn't spoil its prior pages. An amazing book.

Summary: Unbelievable!
Review: I'll tell you, Stephen King novels usually take awhile before they really get into the story, but not this one. "IT" will grab you within the first ten pages of the book and make it very difficult to put this one down. I have also never believe that a book could leave you terrified until I read this one. My advice would be to read this book in a well-lit room and not at night if at all possible. There are several nights that I had to sleep with the light on after reading this. "IT" is just an overall outstanding book!

Summary: Great, terrifying...
Review: This is only the second Stephen King book I've read, and I can tell you it is Great! It is not merely a horror story, it's much more complex than that, and drives you to so much thinking, I spent three nights unable to sleep. When you get to the really scary parts, I suggest you sit in a well-lit room and have some company. I was terrrified of using the bathroom for quite some time, I'd rush in and out, no showers! This book has high levels of horror, gore, violence and to an extent sex. Therefore I really don't reccomend it to anyone below 13.
But the missing star is for the pace of the story. The book progresses very slowly at the beginning, too many subplots, and uneccesary detail. But the last third of the book gives you the impression that King was finnally tired of this, and decided to finish it now and there. The ending was ....weird, a tiny bit dissapointing, and a trifle confusing perhaps. And too many ends were left unraveled.

But all in all, just read this book and have fun!

Summary: I need more closure!
Review: Like all of Stephen King's books, I had to plow through pages of description to finally finish this book last year, when I was in grade nine. Do we really need all those pages devoted to listing the items in Eddie's medicine cabinet?? Ok, ok, we get it Mr. King...
When I was done, I sat there and asked myself if I truly liked the book. I'm still not quite sure. I liked the characters, they were well developed (possibly overdeveloped!), but the ending was SUCH a disappointment to me. But, so was the Shining... and then again with The Long Walk. (hmm, it's like there's a pattern). I felt like after reading alllll those pages, he tried to finish the story too quickly, and left to many ends untied. Plus, I was really peeved with how King chose to display It in the final scene. Was I the only one totally confused with the climax??
In my opinion, I'm glad I read it. It had it's terrifying moments!! But if I was going to recommend a Stephen King book, I'd suggest Carrie instead. Great novel!!

Summary: where King deserves his name
Review: this is the first King book I ever read, and it made me fall in love; I have read many others since, but still think It is his masterpiece, because most of the other disappointed me. This one is masterfully plotted and organized, leading smoothly and excitingly to the climax, and does not suffer from king's trouble with bum endings. one of the few Stephen King books I can read again without getting bored

Summary: A Great Read
Review: I'll start off by saying this, I'm a lower middle schooler and I just finished the book last night, and it was my first Stephen King novel. Second, actually, my first being The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. It was a long book, but length doesn't usually throw me off, it entices me. And when I finish a book the length of this one (almost 1100 pages), I get a fully satisfied feeling, and this was no exception.
The book itself is terrifying, sometimes gruesome, and it makes you think a little. But that's not what It concentrates on, It is rather centered around friendship and love, and the power that gives. The characters are remarkably believable up to a point, which happens to be the infamous adolescent sex scene. To me, that didn't have as big an impact on the rest of the book as other scenes did (Stan cutting their hands at the end was more solemn and meaningful), so I kind of mentally cut that part out, and if you're offended by that kind of stuff I suggest you do the same thing.

The book is about seven friends who fought an inexplicable evil when they were young children - my age - and have come back to fight it again. The way King writes is excellent, and the transition from 1958 to 1985 was perfect and seamless. The length is long, but although I yearned for more at the end, I didn't have a feeling that I had been missing out on something. It didn't really scare me, well, it did a little, but not nearly as much as I expected it to scare me. But that's my feelings, my mother on the other hand was terrified when she read it in her 20s. But I still loved it, because of the richness of the characters (Stuttering Bill was my favorite) and the complexity of the plot. Yes, it made me wish I had friends as good as that.
My only peeve is that I think I should have waited a little longer, until I was older, to read this book. Just because I read it doesn't mean other 12 year olds should read it, there are some adult scenes throughout the book and there is strong language. It didn't offend me too much, but it certainly can be offending to many other people.
The movie, which I unfortunately saw before I read the book, was good, but it was unfaithful. They left a lot of parts out, and got a lot of things wrong. The kids were great actors, but they sadly were not like the characters in the book in their physical looks (Bill, Bev, and Richie all come to mind). Which, I suppose, was better for me, as the movie hardly ruined the book, except for some parts. I still wish I could have read the book first.
