Summary: A GOOD BOOK
Review: It by Stephen King, is a good book. The last couple of pages in the Ritual of Chud chapter are pretty weirded up, but if you skip that part, or ignore it, it's PERFECT.

It is about a group of seven kids, entitled The Losers Club, discover a monster in Derry, Maine (where the story takes place) in the guise of a clown. The Losers: Bill, who stutters, Beverly, a girl, Richie, the class clown, Ben, who is overweight, Eddie, who has asthma, Stan, who is Jewish, and Mike, who is black. These seven kids join together to kill this monster. Twenty seven years later, Mike, the only Loser that stayed in Derry, calls the group back to Derry, once he figured out that they didn't kill It, only scared It, and it's come back. The Losers now have to defeat this evil once and for all.

Overall: It is a good book. Please don't let it's size scare you.

Summary: An Epic Masterpiece, One of the Best Books EVER Written
Review: I will cut to the chase as to WHY this is the BEST BOOK I have EVER read! I consider myself to be a well rounded reader, but this is my favorite by far. King's "It" is not only more horrifying than anything else ever written (flying leaches, anyone?), it is also more emotionally involving than anything else I've ever read. His portrayal of childhood friendship is powerful and realistic and the book's plot is masterful. The villan is a shapeless eternal force that King does an excellent job of portraying, considering its entity status. The only real criticism that most people have of this book is the orgy scene. While I thought it to be a little extreme, there may well indeed be good reason for it. I interpret it as King's way of saying that sex is the only thing CLOSE to childhood friendship in terms of intimacy and magic, and following the slaying of IT, the characters had become adults, conquering all their fears. Overall, an excellent book, one which will NEVER be forgotten. I've read "Crime and Punishment", I've read "East of Eden", but I didn't find any such classics to be as gut-wrenching and emotion-evoking as Stephen King's "IT"!

Summary: Scary?
Review: How can a clown incite so much fear? I admit I had to turn a light on.

Summary: Are you scared?
Review: I've always been a King fan. My Mom started me on his books at a young age. The first time I read the book I was fairly young maybe 10 or 12, so the story was not real clear then. I've read it and saw the movie since and feel it to be a very good story. Everyone has a childhood fear and a lot of people are very afraid of clowns. For the fear in this book to be a clown and be so utterly terrifying gave me chills. Since this is my genre of chioce I love to read this book when I'm in between books.

Summary: It
Review: I have read most of Stephen Kings books but It is by far my favorite. It is a thousand pages plus but is definitley worth the read. I'm reading it for the second time right now and I doubt it will be the last! I've never been afraid of clowns but this book will give you reason enough. It does not only take on the shape of Pennywise The Clown but whatever you fear! I find myself not wanting to be alone after reading. If you want a good scare and a great story this book is definitley for you. The movie is also pretty scary but nothing can top the book. If you thought Tim Curry was scary on The Rocky Horror Picture Show wait till you see him as PennyWise!!

Summary: Heartbroken...
Review: Sorry, I've tried...God knows I've tried...but I just can't like this book. There's a lot here to love, but King just throws it all away. It's that idiotic child gang-bang at the end; I just can't get over it. In the space of a few pages, King wipes out the thousand pages of goodness which came before, at least in my eyes. What the heck was the *point* of the scene, anyway? My God, an 11-year-old girl would probably be torn apart by something like that! To me, this book was like falling in love...and then being horribly betrayed at the end of the relationship. Without that little child orgy at the end, I would have given this book five stars, easily. Some people can get past it and still enjoy the book, but I can't. Call me a prude, but child sex ain't my thing....

Summary: Clowns?
Review: Stephen King, he is the undisputed heavyweight champion of horror writers. "It" does nothing to take away from him the crown he deserves. Anytime I read a Stephen King novel, I am transfixed into an alternate reality that will usually leave me scared out of my gord. "It" does this and more. I don't really want to give away anymore of what happens, but I highly recommend this book and you will not be dissapointed.

Summary: Mindblowing
Review: Quite possibly the best book i have read in my 14 years of life.. King manages to [draw] you into the story, and feel what the characters feel. This book will grow on you, and you wont be able to put it down.

Summary: just plain scary
Review: okay yeah, the characters were great and the book delved into some deep issues, like how the world began, and the plot was fabulous etc. etc. - it was also really SCARY! I don't usually get scared by books - movies are scarier when you can see it visually - but this book was just creepy, especially during the parts like - when Ben was in the library when he was an adult after coming back to Derry - and he saw Pennywise just standing there and threatening him with the mouth fulls of razors and so one and nobody else could see It. there were so many really creepy parts. the ending wasn't the best, but it was still a really cool book.
