Rating: Summary: I could'nt put it down. Review: I first saw this book in the library and checked it out.I didn't get past the first few pages before I had to return it.I saw it again later in the library and checked it out again.Once I got into the book I could'nt put it down!It was really good and I thought it was a very interesting and original plot.I plan to read all the other books in the series.
Rating: Summary: MY FAVOURITE BOOK!! Review: I read this book at the age of 13 and I couldn't put it down for one second. I just kept reading and reading and reading.... It was the first book that I had ever read by V.C. Andrews and I am now collecting them all. If you are looking for a book that is not only realistic but is suspenseful, I would definately recommend this to anyone that is 13 and up!
Rating: Summary: I'LL NEVER FORGET IT Review: Flowers in the Attic is one book I will never forget. I saw the movie first. It was nothing compared to the book but something about just intiegued me. I forgot about it for about six months and then I was in the book store and Flowers in the Attic suddenly appeared. It took me two days to read it. I have read all the sequels, which were quite good also but nothing compared to the first one. V.C. Andrews has become my favorite author and Flowers in the Attic my favorite book.
Rating: Summary: Flowers in the Attic is a must read book. Review: It is hard to believe that a mother would do what Corine did to Chris, Cathy, Carrie and Cory. The children in this book are true survivors. It makes one think about what is more important, love or money. Even though the Grandmother was cruel and strict, in her own way she was trying to warn the children about the event that was to happen in the end, which ended in death.
Rating: Summary: ohhhh my gosh they made such a book Review: helllo i have read this book and it is so great i love it so much it has made my day i am noww reading the reast of her books and so far my favoriet one is petales on the wind read this book
Rating: Summary: The Best Book I've Read! Review: First of all, I would like to say that FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC by V. C. ANDREWS is the best book I've ever read(and i've read ALOT!). This book is about a family that is perfect until the father is killed in an accident and the mother is forced to bring her four children to live with her millionaire parents. But the children's dreams of a new life are soon shattered when they meet their grandparents. They are sent to live in an abandoned wing of the mansion and face many challenges including the harsh whip of their grandmother and starvation, just some of the many repercussions of their "work". As the weeks stretch into years, they fear their mother no longer cares for them and can only cling onto what is left of their love to survive. But soon they find out something more terrifying than reality. Virginia is an absolutely wonderful author. The way she writes is very unique and has a lot of sensory language and details. This story creates suspense and keeps you turning the pages pretty quickly! I really enjoyed this book becuase the story the author creates is so realistic it really makes you think how we would survive without love... i would definately reccommend this book to anyone who loves suspense.
Rating: Summary: READ IT AND ENJOY IT Review: My friend was the one to intruduce me to this great book at first I thought I wasnt going to read it because it seem so long, but I decided to give it a try and I loved it so much that I finish the book in 2 days and Im here to order the next sequels.
Rating: Summary: Don't see the movie! Review: This is V C Andrews best!! The movie was not worth the gum under the seats, but it probably got some people to read the book. It is important not to read to much in to the book, it is, after all, JUST A STORY. It is meant to spook you, not to make you lament on the state of the world today.
Rating: Summary: Read on, and suspend your notions of love and trust. Review: As a child, one of my punishments was being locked in a cellar to atone for my sins. Therefore, I can relate to the predicament of the four Dollanganger children locked in the attic. My punishment pales compared to theirs. I could not put this novel down. My main criticism of it, however, concerns the dialogue. People -- much less children -- do not speak as eloquently as the characters in this novel. The speech has a false ring in many of the conversations between Cathy and Chris, and also in the conversations between the Twins and Cathy. Too often, the dialogue sounds like the author's description and analysis, rather than a natural conversation. Nevertheless, I was curious enough to buy the sequel, "Petals on the Wind," just to learn what will happen to Cathy, Chris and Carrie. I must admit, I am fascinated.
