Summary: Bummer...This one isn't as good as the others...
Review: Well, let me get right to the point. I've thoroughly enjoyed all of the previous books in this series up until now. While this book was good, it lacked "something" that the others had. As a result, I didn't enjoy it as much.

Don't get me wrong, it's still good, but the story seemed to drag on a tad longer than it had to. In fact, at the very end, I started skipping paragraphs (notice I DIDN'T say pages) just so I could finish it.

The characterization is good, as always, and the plot was interesting. The action sequences were also good, if a little gory. I even enjoyed the introduction of a new type of "monster" that we can look forward to in future books. But even with all that, the book lacked the "umph" that the previous books have.

Maybe it's because I like Jean Claude and he didn't have as big a role in this book as in previous ones. Or maybe it was the lack of tension between Jean Claude and Richard, Ms. Blake's other beau. Whatever it was, it's missing.

Would I recommend the book? Yes, because it's part of one of the best vampire series that I've ever read. Besides that, it held my interest from beginning to end. Ms. Hamilton has an easy writing style that I like, and her books are always interesting. And besides, if this is as "bad" as it gets in this series, then we're still in luck because the author is good and she knows how to keep your interest.

Summary: One of the best in the Anita Blake Series
Review: Another fantastic read from Ms. Hamilton who always manages to give us a fast paced, exciting read with fun characters and despicable villians. Bloody Bones is right up there among my favorites. I especially liked the fact that we learn more about Anita & Jean Claude through brief glimpses of their past which show us a vulnerable side to these two seemingly hard as nail beings. It was a wonderful touch that I hope continues in future books.

Summary: bloody bones
Review: OK OK OK, so you're getting bored with me reviewing everything she writes positively; TOO BAD! This one's great too; she brings the fey into the mix! If you're reading this than you probably have never read one of LH's books; we(the readers) don't NEED reviews - we KNOW what we're getting into. Anyway, buy it, it's number 5. You'll want the others at some point though...

Summary: Just one of many great titles from Laurell K. Hamilton
Review: I've read all of Hamilton's Anita Blake books more than once--a sure sign of a good read. These books are to be savored. Her writing style is bare bones and gritty (and not for the squeamish), but her characters are compelling and her plot twists fascinating. I'm hooked. Anyone with a love of fantasy and an appreciation for the nastier side of all those fairy tales so many other authors are dressing up in painful ersatz British English (as if Tolkein and Lewis didn't already do that number as well as it might be done!) will love this stuff.

Summary: cremator that kills monsters&raises the dead
Review: Anita Blake gets a job to raise a crushed and disturbed cemetary over 300 yrs. old. At this same time a crazed THING is on a killing masacer and she must be the one to stop it. Anita faces all of the childrens classical fears in this series such as vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural beings.(I am 12 yrs. old and after reading this book i suggest to read this if you are 15 yrs. or older)

Summary: Anne Rice takes a back seat to Laurell K. Hamilton
Review: This is a book that take fantasy and makes it history. What Gene Rodenberry did with space travel in Star Trek, Laurell K. Hamilton is doing with Vampires, Warewolves and the Undead. Anne Rice could take pointers on vampire personalities from the cool but deadly Anita Blake.

Summary: Rockin Good Fun
Review: I love these books. I have already read 4 in the series and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am not happy about that. Hamilton slams the pedal down from the very opening of all her books. My only criticism is she really doesn't know how to end her stories. Bloody Bones is perhaps the best example. Anita Blake is scared to death of the female master vampire. She is almost killed many times and she is starting to realize she is as monstrous as some of the "real" monsters. Instead of taking a much needed vacation to sort some of that out, she goes back to St Louis and continues to date the vampire and the werewolf. Hamilton accomplishes this trick with one sentence at the end of the book. But I pick. If you are a vampire lover, read these books. You will not regret it.

Summary: Not one of LKH's Best, but still Great !
Review: OK, it seemed a little slow to me, but I got into it towards the end. I wanted to hear more about the fey, and I can't wait for Kiss of Shadows.

Summary: Kick a**
Review: I've read these books - the whole series and they help deal with a lot of things going on in my life - especially the identity crisis Anita suffers from the first book - Guilty Pleasures to Blue Moon - you grow with Anita and I can relate real well with some of her problems - althought I wish I had to choose betwen a werewolf and Vampire

Summary: Interesting diversion.
Review: I gave it 5 stars b/c an unpolished Anita Blake book is still the best reading around. It's too bad the really terrible villains don't hang around to show up in later books. I really enjoyed Anita going up against more than just claws and teeth; her struggle with the master vampire's temptations revealed more of her vulnerabilities than a simple helicopter ride. The faerie element doesn't really seem fleshed out. There is so much magic going on in that world, I'm amazed daily life is as mundane as it is.
