Rating: Summary: Finally ORIGINALITY Review: I can't say how much I enjoyed Night Pleasures. Sherrilyn Kenyon has not trotted out the old tired cliches of the vampire novel as so many authors do. She has tossed a new spin on an old premise and made it fresh. And I'm more thrilled than I can say that again we have an author who has actually read Greek mythology and not just watched Hercules, Zena or Clash of the Titans for their facts.Kyrian of Thrace is a hero that I would personally love to wake up handcuffed to, and never find the key! An ancient dark-hunter (not a vampire!) who protects humanity from things that go bump in the night. He is both strong and tender, a great combination. Amanda Deveraux is a heroine after my own heart. She's just trying to find a nice guy (not a psycho loser) and live a simple life. When these two meet the sparks fly and the chemistry is fabulous. I can't recommend this book highly enough. If you are looking for something fresh and original, look no further. Can't wait for the next book in the series. Keep up the good work Ms. Kenyon, you are now an auto-buy for me!
Rating: Summary: A Great Start To A New Series!!! Review: I loved this book! I am not a huge fan of vamipre stories but this one book has totally changed my mind. We briefly met Kyrian of Thrace in Fantasy Lover. In this story he is a Dark-Hunter that goes after the really bad guys. He has traded his soul to seek vengence on his wife, but unable to kill her he now walks the world in the shadows of night. Amanda has powers that she is unaware of or unwilling to admit too. She does not believe in the supernatural, or dark things. She is an accountant and feels that she is not a part of her wild gypsy family. (Selena from Fantasy Lover is her sister) These two unlikely people get paired together in a very unlikely situation. As a result there are laughs aplenty, great romance, and a lot of the supernatural! These two characters are perfect for each other. Hunter does not give his trust easily, and Amanda is not even aware of her appeal. You will not be let down by this fast page turning read. Plenty of the trademark sensuality and humor that is Sherrilyn Kenyon can be found in this book.
Rating: Summary: It was good Review: This book was not a disappointment major or otherwise. I look forward the rest of the series quite eagerly. It has taken a common story and turned it into something quite unique and thrilling. I can't wait till she eventually does Ash's story.
Rating: Summary: MOOOOVE OVER CHRISTEEN FEEHAN Review: I LOVED THIS BOOK!! This is my first review to write that's how good this book is. I am a big fan of Ms. Feehan's Dark series and love them all. My "guilty pleasure" if you will. I stumbled on Fantasy Lover and was completely swept away and couldn't wait until Night Pleasures. There is not stop action. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and couldn't put it down. The smart and refreshingly witty characters brought lots of laughs and don't forget.....lots of steamy sex. Kyrian ("yummy leather guy") is a larger than life character and you completely feel every emotion he and Amanda go through. The uncommon characters are based in Greek/Roman mythology which I found very refreshing. And tying the characters of Fantasy Lover back in to let you know how they all were doing was another plus for me. How will I ever live until 2003 for Talon's story. I loved this book and look forward to hearing more of the Dark-Hunters as well as the Dream-Hunters and Were-Hunters as Ms. Kenyon builds her universe.
Rating: Summary: 3 & 3/4...? A quick, interesting, & sexy read Review: This book is both funny and touching. Kyrian, if a little too perfect physically, is both tortured and very likable. Certainly all his co-workers like him. He is torn between protecting both himself and Amanda and his overwhelming attraction to her. Kenyon writes truly tortured heroes. Amanda tries so hard not to be like her wacky family, and then she finds herself handcuffed to a vampire--worse, she falls in love with him. Her unlimited accaptance of him is the key to both their relationship and the evil they face. Still, Kenyon's female leads are less well-developed than the males. I happened upon "Dance with the Devil" first, so I had a major learning curve getting into Keyon's Dark-Hunter world. This book, at the beginning of the series, is much clearer about creatures who inhabit this imaginative world. I was quite impressed with Kenyon's ability to take Greek myths and morph them into this paranormal world. My complaints are a heavy preponderence of gratuitous sex scenes; only a few truly further the relationship. More damning is that the sex overshadows the love rather than verifying it. We know the love is there, but it is rarely shown in any fashion other than sex. The relationship could have been richer. Finally, except for being told briefly about the rest of her family, we're never given clues to Amanda's supernatural powers until Kyrian says she has them. Then, at the crucial moment, they suddenly appear. It's a good if imperfect read. Kenyon is not Teresa Medeiros, but she's interesting enough and her Dark-Hunter world is a fascinating creation.
Rating: Summary: Stand in line for Yummy Leather Guys! Review: Have to have pointy Teeth & Leather? Well Kenyon's books are for you!! Her Dark Hunter Characters are Lovable & Unique..Unlike Many of the other "vampire" themed Novels I've read which seem to have the "Same" character, but with a different Name, background and Girlfriend....LOL! Kenyon has a knack for mixing the Modern with the past w/ a Somewhat Spunky & Punky Twist!! In this Book, our Yummy Dark Hunter find's himself Handcuffed to a Woman who Tries to Deny the reality of Who & What she is. Her family consists of Witches & Vampire Hunters :) Who could have guessed this of a Straight laced Amanda Devereaux. Again, Sherri greats us with a mix of Laughs & Steamy Love scenes. If you Love guys in Leather...You gotta read her books :)
Rating: Summary: Where can I get one??? Review: Oh man - when Amanda called Kyrian "yummy leather guy," that was only the beginning of describing the newest of the Dark Hunters. WOW! Sherrilyn Kenyon certainly knows what she's doing. She is able to consistently deliver quality reading material in all of her writings. Even if you aren't much of a fan of vampire stories, give these a chance. They are wonderful romances, well written with plenty of action. Sherrilyn spends much time with character development as well, so you begin to feel as though you "know" the characters as real people. Definitely check out her website - you won't be disappointed. You will be treated to introductions to all the Hunters - photos included ;) - along with treatments for upcoming books. And if you're really lucky, you might get to chat with a Hunter! One of the wonderful things about her writing manner is that you don't have to read one book in order to understand another (but why miss out???), nor do you need to read the books in any particular order, but the references from one story to another keep the thread of the Hunter universe alive. This is one series for which I am anxiously awaiting each new installment. Now, if only her website included ordering a Hunter ...
Rating: Summary: Responding to the French Teacher's Review Review: I loved the book. I thought that it was as well-executed as the other Dark Hunter books. Each book stands alone but, together, they form a complex puzzle of mythology, legend, and romance spanning centuries and beyond. If you like romance books, vampire books, mythology books, or are just looking for something different, give this book a try.

Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: I really like this book. I thought it was the first one but Fantasy Lover has Julian and Grace in it. I thought it was different and I loved the twist it had. To set it in New Orleans was great. I have read all in the series and can't wait for the rest.
