Rating: Summary: Captivating! Review: This was an excellent book! I could not put it down. It is a mystery and a ghost story all rolled into one. There were twists and turns all along the way. I have to say that this is the best book that I have read in a long time. I highly recommend that you read this book!
Rating: Summary: Deducted 3 stars, then put one back Review: Took way too long to get into the story - - then (finally) you start to think, "oh yeah, I see where she's goin now!" Way too many different names for a lot of the characters, had to keep flipping back to see who was who. Picoult put a lot of thought into this book - it got interesting when all the events came together. Strange ending, but over all, a pretty good book.
Rating: Summary: My favorie Picoult book! Review: Wow! This book is amazing! I am in awe of Picoult's talent for describing things and creating characters that inspire such compassion and pity. I am so emotionally drawn to the characters in her books and find myself almost crying for their heartaches. Picoult has the ability to make mundane things poignant just by the metaphors she uses. This book is a ghost story/mytery/history and is incredible! I was facinated by the history of eugenics (basically racial purifying) in America which was the model the Nazi's used when eradicating the Jews. I was also touched by the lives of the main characters and their own personal tragedies. In short: This book is EXCELLENT! Perhaps her best yet. Pick it up in a heartbeat and read it like a wolf eats. :o)
