Summary: Yet another great book by Jodi Picoult
Review: I have read all of Jodi Picoult's books and I must say that Second Glance was not a disappointment at all. Although this book, unlike her others, holds no court room scenes, the story that Picoult has to tell is just as rich. It's a ghost story that really makes you believe that there really could be such a thing as ghosts. There are also some small details that make the story extra great if you can catch onto them. I recommend Second Glance, as well as any of her other books to anyone. Once you read one you have to read them all!

Summary: Eerie and thought-provoking
Review: I have read all of Jodie Picoult's books, but this was not one of my favorites. I really enjoyed the main plot about ghostly happenings, and I especially liked the historical information about the eugenics project in Vermont in the 1930's. Her characters were well-drawn and interesting. However, I found the book getting tedious and too long after about 300 pages, and there was still over a hundred pages to go. I had to struggle to finish it, even though I found the first part of the book to be compelling reading. When I reached the end, I was confused about some of the events that happened. I'm not sure that I ever did figure out the final outcome completely. I guess I would still recommend the book to a friend because the plot was interesting and unique. I especially loved her earlier book, PLAIN TRUTH, because it was about the Amish of Pennsylvania. I will continue to read her future books, though, so hopefully she has another one in the works.

Summary: Picoult has outdone herself...
Review: I have read all of Picoult's books. I'm pleased to say that this is her best work. I encourage old fans and new readers to pick this book up because it is a fascinating story about characters who seem real enough to touch. Some of the relationships between the characters initially seem vague. However, keep reading - you will be amazed at how everything comes together. I loved The Pact as well as Keeping Faith. However, this is my new Picoult favorite. Happy Reading!

Summary: Second Glance Disappointment
Review: I have throroughly enjoyed every Jodi Picoult novel, and eagerly await each new release. Unfortunately, I am so extremely disappointed in the latest, Second Glance. There was something so definitely missing - I perservered to the end, thinking that surely something that had been missing throughout would occur to make it all tie in together, but it just didn't happen. I have been interested to read other excellent reviews of this book, but I am slightly relieved to find my friends who also have Ms Picoult as one of their favorite authors, are also very disappointed. The wonderful writing style is strangely still there, but the story line just couldn't hold me - as I mentioned earlier, I spent most of the book waiting for something to happen. An extremely far fetched story that is possibly best left to authors you would normally expect to write a 'far fetched' story.

Summary: This was a great work of fiction.
Review: I haven't been reading much fiction lately, but my mother talked me into this one that she had read from her book club. A ghostly story of sorts, which I love, I was immediately drawn into it. The main character is a man who is convinced he cannot die; he survived a car wreck that killed his true love and ever since then has been trying to reach "the other side". The plot takes so many twists and turns, you will not be able to put the book down, and you will be sad when it's done. The characters are very real and almost become your friends as you read. I would definitely recommend this book for some semi-light reading on a rainy weekend. :)

Summary: Loved It!
Review: I liked this book, because of the writing style and how every character fits together. You can't help feeling and falling in love with Ross. I couldn't help feeling for the characters and rooting for them. I took my time reading this novel because I really enjoyed it and wanted it to continue on with the story.

Summary: I loved this book!
Review: I only picked up this book because I love Jodi Picoult and was not expecting to like it, I am not into ghost books. However, as I read this book, I fell in love with the characters and I was captivated! I enjoyed the history and the love stories so much. I cried hard during one part and stayed up really late just to finish the book. Read it, its wonderful.

Summary: Jodi Picoult does it again!!
Review: I really love reading this authors books. I would have given this 5 stars but I found it a little slow getting into. I loved the part of the story that takes place in 1932 and follows Cissy (Lia's} life.

It is a marvelous story based on fact in the state of Vermont and the sterilazation laws that were passed. It is also the story of lost love and second chances. It is also a "ghost" story of sorts. I loved reading it and was sorry to see it end. This one will make you think and maybe even give you interest in your own history.

Summary: Ms. Picoult's Best Yet
Review: I really loved this book. I loved the characters, the subject, everything. The whole idea of this love/mystery/back in time story was captivating. This is one of Jodi Picoults best books I have read yet.

Summary: What a READ! Read it!
Review: I started this book on a Sunday afternoon, and after getting the characters straight (it doesn't take THAT long) I could not put the book down. The twists, turns, and surprise ending keeps you enthralled - Jodi's characters come to life! I thoroughly enjoyed Ross, who seemed to live a charmed life. And the kids - wow! It is so refreshing for me, as I am an AVID reader, to find an author who has the "gift" to keep her reader up till 3 a.m. to see what happens next! Great book! Read it!
