Rating: Summary: Roberts never disappoints! Review: Nell Channing arrives on Three Sisters Island, running from her past, longing for a simple, quiet life. And though she finds a life that suits her, it's anything but simple because of her feelings for Zack Todd--feelings she thought she'd never have again.Zack doesn't know what Nell's running from, but he soon realizes that they can't have a future until she stops and faces her past. And he also realizes, a future with Nell is what he wants more than anything. Roberts first book in the Three Sisters trilogy is a beautiful tale of how love can overcome anything.
Rating: Summary: It's ok.... Review: Not Nora Roberts best trilogy, but not the worst. The whole witch thing was a little hard to believe.
Rating: Summary: To Dance Upon the Air Review: Nell Channing is running away from a dark past that almost killed her and left her self esteem shattered. When she ends up on Three Sisters' Island its like she has finally come home. Sure, her boss Mia is a bit excentric but she's beautiful and nice and very confident, and she also gives Nell a place to stay. But the longer she stays on The Sisters', the more she begins to wonder about things. Like maybe Mia is right and she is a witch. Like maybe she should let her guard down and fall in love with Zach Todd, sheriff and brother to Ripley Todd. Like maybe she doesn't have to worry any more about a man beating her so severely that she would rather die than live one more day with him. But then He finds her. One look is enough to crumble what strength she has, and if she doesn't overcome the curse of the Three Sisters' Island it will sink into the sea. And Nell would do anything to keep her beloved home safe and the people within protected. Even if her part of the curse means standing up to the very man that can break her once and for all. My summary was a little dramatic, I'll admit, but this book IS about mordern-day witches. Nora Roberts, in my opinion, is funny as hell. Some of the things she writes about happen on a daily basis, yet you don't notice how humorous they are until you read them. This is the first book by Nora Roberts that I've read, and it seems just beautiful. For the first time I am introduced to an author who REALLY makes the characters seem as if they lived in the real world, and through their eyes you can see the beauty of it as well as the ugliness. There emotions are certainly realistic. The only thing bad about this book is that it is never in at the libraries.
Rating: Summary: Fresh take on a familiar storyline. Perfect summer reading. Review: I bought the trilogy on a whim & liked them so much I am going to try the other sets she has published. "Air" is the first of the set and gives a lot of needed information. It truly sets the stage for the other two books, "Earth" and "Fire". The characters are pretty well developed, the romance is basic (not over the top), and the story is familiar (good vs. evil mixed with romance) yet original. If I only had a three words to describe the trilogy they would be: fresh, fast and light. Perfect for on the beach reading!! Grab all three for a long weekend.
Rating: Summary: Witches, islands, danger.... Review: What else couldd a girl ask for? I loved this book. It not only touched on some issues I felt relevant to society currently, it also involved fantasy elements as well. I found it very rewarding as well as I wished I had a local bookshop like the one they described. La sigh! Okay I admit to being a big fan girl of romance/fantasy. But I cared about the characters. It took one day to read it. I stayed up past my regular time to raed it because I could not put it down.I must admit when I was younger a lot of books could do that to me, but not often am I grabbed anymore like by books. This is definetly going up on my 'keeper shelf.'
Rating: Summary: Excellent Roberts trilogy with a Wiccan theme Review: The first in a wonderful trilogy set on a New England island. The characters are well developed (as they always are when Roberts is the author) and the story keeps it moving. The other 2 books are also great reads, bringing back characters from this first book.
Rating: Summary: Fun Summer Read! Review: I absolutely loved this book! Great characters, fast moving story, could not put it down. Typical Nora Roberts. Also recommend Shade of the Maple by Kirk Martin, romance from a man's perspective. It's better tha you may think! Looking forward to the next Nora novel on my pile by the nightstand!
Rating: Summary: Dance with joy as you read this book! Review: ...In Dance Upon the Air, we first meet Nell who is running from her past. Married to a wealthy but abusive husband she has faked her own death and has been on the move for the past 8 months. Cutting her hair, changing her name and always looking over her shoulder, she finds herself drawn to Three Sisters Island. It is as if fate has brought her to this safe haven. But Three Sisters Island is no ordinary place. Legend says it was created by three witches during the Salem Witch Trials almost three hundred years ago. And some day that even today, these witches presence is still felt by a few chosen women. Once on the Island Nell meets two other women who will not only become her friends but her allies as well. Mia, the owner of a unique bookstore not only Nell a job but a place to live while Ripley, the local police officer offers her advice and frienshsip, But it is Ripleys brother Zachary who is charmed by Nell and offers her the possibilty of loving again. As Nell becomes more and more comfortable on the island and learns about her special abilities, her husband has found out her whereabouts. Determined to bring Nell home to California he sets out to find her while Mia, Ripley and Nell will have to gather their special talents to destory this evil man. Once again as she 's done in her other books, specifically the trilogies, Nora Roberts spins her special brand of magic. For me, as a reader, there has always been something wonderful about a Nora Roberts book. But this title, Dance Upon the Air was just a bit more special. best part is that not onyl did this book end my slump but I now have the next two book in the trilogy to look forward to reading. Many thanks for this book, Ms. Roberts. And do keep writing these titles as I will be sure to continue reading them.
Rating: Summary: Nora Roberts is a great author. Review: When Nell Channing finds Three Sisters Island she feels like she has finally found a place that she can call home. After being on the run for a while she finds the people of Three Sisters kind and caring towards her. She makes friends with Mia who helps her out with a job, housing and just being a good friends. Mia starts to figure things out in Nells life and starts to ask questions. Nell is still to scaried to admit certain things in her life, but makes a special friendship with Mia. From there Mia shows Nell some things that she thinks Nell needs to know. When Nell meets Zack Todd she knows that he is a speical guy, but she isn't ready to full admit it. From there first meeting things with Zack seem to go into full swing and Nell finds herself in a different place then she ever expected.. This book kind of reminded me a bit of Sleeping With The Enemy and a bit of Practical Magic. Overall this was a great start to what looks to be a promising series.
