Summary: Very enjoyable
Review: I really liked this book. Nora has really created a strong female character, one that I think is much more stronger than her previous heroines with abused pasts (except for Eve Dallas). Nell gets away from her abusive husband by faking her own death and is drawn to Three Sisters Island. We find out she is actually a descendant of the original three witches that created the island, and her coming there completes the circle. On the island, she grows and is able to become close with people and form relationships. She is able to assert herself and get a job with the local "practical" witch, and later on she starts her own business. The romantic relationship with the town sheriff is nice, but her realtionship with her sister witches is even more interesting. One is the practical witch Mia Devlin, who was hurt by love; the other is the sheriff's sister, Ripley Todd, who has turned away from her powers. I really enjoyed this book, and finished it in one day. It's a nice break from Nora's recent mysteries, with the surprise twist of who the killer is. this is a story of growth and renewal and I *cannot* wait for the next two books in the series.

Summary: Bewitching
Review: I have never written a review of a book I had not yet finished, but I felt compelled to do so this time.

Never is Nora more compelling than when she is writing about witches! "Dance Upon the Air" is no exception. Within a few pages, I felt drawn into another world. When Nora is at her best, as she is in this novel, one can see, smell, and become part of the world she is creating. I'm not on the noisy commuter train...I'm in New England, on a picturesque island created by magic, with wonderful characters like Nell, our heroine. I can see her. I know all about her past. I am already deeply involved with her future. I am hooked.

Like she did in "The Donovans," Nora manages to combine reality with fantasy in a totally believable and matter-of-fact way that makes one yearn to run out and buy crystal dragons. I haven't finished the book. I am trying to pace myself so it goes as slowly as possible. It's like the richest chocolate. I want to swallow it whole.

Thank you, Nora, for giving this reader so much pleasure! My recommendation: Do not pass up this book! Summer reads don't get more perfect than this.

Summary: Dance Upon The Air
Review: Very impressive. Nora roberts outdid herself with this book. I could not believe how I was kept on the edge of my seat. The book held my interest - and didn't let go. Not only did I read it in one day -- but I went back the next to reread it. One of the best books I have read in a long time. I cannot wait for the next in the series.

Summary: A worthy start to a new trilogy
Review: While I own every single book written by Nora Roberts, I have to say that I usually enjoy her paperback novels better than the hardcover books (Not that it stops me from buying every one of them!).

This particular novel tells the story of Nell, a woman fleeing from an abusive husband to a fictitous island off the coast of Massachusetts, Three Sisters. There she finds her first real feeling of home, friends that she has a mystical bond with and a handsome sheriff who is her soulmate.

The novel nicely blends the charm of a small town and the mystical events that we expect from Nora Roberts. It also is effective at setting up the two upcoming novels that will complete the trilogy. Packed with likeable characters and well paced, the novel is worthy of her "Born in" series.

I really loved this book. It was a surprising and satisfying read that kept me turing pages long into the night. I recommend it highly.

Summary: enjoying the magic
Review: this is definitely a nora roberts book and anyone who enjoys her romance novels as much as her mysteries will surely love this book. both the settings and the characters are charming and will, well, seduce you into reading more. as someone who buys her books the moment they hit the shelves, i can honestly say you cannot be disappointed with this first book of what will surely be a terrific trilogy.

Summary: Great story!
Review: I loved Dance Upon the Air. It combined romance and some neat witch craft quite well. I can't wait for Mia's story, and Ripley's too. Zack was an awesome hero and Nell, though a little weak at points, pulled through in the end becoming a very likable heroine. She was sweet. I enjoyed this story a lot. Any fan of Nora Roberts will enjoy it too!

Summary: Top of Her Game
Review: This is classic Nora Roberts, at the top of her game. Wiccans and secret pacts from millennia past, a complex and interesting heroine who grows into her new-found identity and, of course, the perfect man. Like millions of others, I almost always find a Nora book so involving that I can't put it down. "Dance Upon the Air" made a New York-Los Angeles flight go by almost too quickly! A great start to what will, no doubt, be a wonderful new trilogy.

Summary: Nora gives us her best, again!
Review: I stayed up till 4AM reading this book, and it was more than worth the sleep deprevation! Nell had the charm of Jude (Jewels of the Sun), Mia the confidence and attitude of Morgana (Donovan Legacy), Ripley the antagonism and Zachariah, well I'll take one of him anyday! Nora made me believe in the magic and beauty of the time, of the place and the community of Three Sisters Island without getting overly obsessed about spousal abuse or the "craft." Well written, well rounded characters and story, kudos! I'll be catching up on sleep and waiting (im)patiently for the next book!
