Rating: Summary: *Dance upon the Air* lifts you higher Review: There is so much written about two of my favorite subjects, love & magic that is silly or overly dramatic. Nora Roberts book 'Dance upon the Air' was thouroughly enjoyable, indeed I didn't want to put it down! The hero Zack, was believable and yummy, made me feel a flutter for his honesty and true spirit, his strength and groundedness. The magical ladies in the book reminded me of friends that grace my life, and lifted my spirits while gently reminding me not to give my power away . . .
Rating: Summary: A super summer read!! Review: I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one! As a true Robert's fan, I knew I would enjoy this. Ms. Roberts has a wonderful gift of using words to draw the reader into the world she has created. I felt the despair and fear that Nell lived with concerning her husband, and the determination she had to start her life anew on the Three Sisters Island. I was glad to see that Nell was not all wimp where her husband was concerned - she definetly had a backbone!! It also touched a cord in me to read about Nell's experiences in making a place for herself on the island - I think we all dream about what that would be like every once in a while. The other characters in this book are also written wonderfully! I truly can't wait for the next in book in this series in order to learn more about them. In all fairness, however, there are no real surprizes or twists in this one. Roberts knows what works and she's sticking with it. She again uses her tried and true "formula" with this beginning book: there is a problem to be solved (just like there was one in her recent Irish trilogy) that only three of the characters introduced in this book will be able to solve (and probably not until the final book) and she again delves into the mystical realm, this time with the element of witchcraft. Even though this "formula" is apparent, it did not detract from the pleasure I took in this book. I believe that all fans will adore it, and all new readers of Roberts with this book will want to try her other works. It is simply a good book to sit outside in the sun with that will take you out of your world for a little while.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT Review: This is an absolutely fabulous beginning to Nora Robert's new trilogy. I read it cover to cover in one sitting! These women are enchanting. The heroine is just like your best friend and the hero is to die for! The love scenes had my heart racing and the dialogue had me in stitches! Run, don't walk, and add this to your collection.
Rating: Summary: Not her best Review: Though Nora Roberts is one of my top ten favorite authors I did not enjoy this book. Part of the reason for my personal lack of enjoyment was the excessive use of magic and witchcraft throughout the book - in fact this trilogy is apparently about three witches. If she continues to write in this vein I will reluctantly quit reading her books. Even if the witchcraft was not an issue. the book itself was just not as fresh, nor the characters as well formed as many of her other books.
Rating: Summary: Bewitched Review: I inevitably buy any book written by Nora Roberts and Dance Upon The Air celebrates her return to trilogies. Nell Channing, the heroine stages her own death and went on the run, ending up on Three Sisters Island where she assumes a new identity. Hired as a cook at the local bookshop cafe, she cooks up a storm every breakfast and lunch. With the help of Mia Devlin, her boss, Nell explores her talents in witchcraft.Struggling to keep the secrets of her past at bay, she falls in love with the local sheriff, Zack Todd, a sensitive and thankfully persistent soul. All is well until a chance sighting brought the long arm of her abusive and demented husband. Deputy Ripley Todd (Zack's sister),a very reluctant witch finally join forces with Mia and Nell to overcome evil.If you like to read and experiment with recipes like I do, you would appreciate Nell's niche at the 'Cafe Book', the quaint little bookshop cafe where she enjoys dishing up the goodies and have the islanders coming back for more! The magical spells are whimsical rather than dark which would otherwise be discordant in a love story. I am now waiting impatiently for its sequel, Heaven and Earth!
Rating: Summary: A disappointment to say the least Review: I love Nora Roberts but this book does not reach me at all. I have read every N. Roberts book written, but this book is disappointing. I much prefer her Seaswept Trilogy where there is realism. Lately, she's on this mystical thing similar to the book, Enchanted, that I cannot appreciate at all. Please Nora, if you read this... I'm begging for a change.
Rating: Summary: Very Good! Review: This isn't that suspenseful (like Carolina Moon) but the character's are very well developed and you really begin to care about them right away. It's a lot like the Born in...series and the Tides series as well, in that since she knows it's a trilogy she can do a lot of fore-shadowing which definately builds up the anticipation for the next ones in the series. A great summer read....it used to be VC Andrews was who I'd take to the pool for entertainment (but now that someone else is writing those books) Nora Roberts is my first choice!
Rating: Summary: A good summer read! Review: Nora Roberts enters the world of the Wiccans again in this book. We are introduced to the characters of Nell, Mia, and Ripley. I loved this book. It reminded me of "Sleeping With the Enemy" with a nice supernatural twist. Recommended to all Nora fans. I am looking forward to reading Ripley's story and reading about what exactly happened to Mia in her past. The start of another great series!
Rating: Summary: Another great story Review: She's done it again. Dance Upon the Air is great. Nora jumps right in with characters that you like from the first chapter. She paints such vivid pictures with her writing that you're right there on the island with them. Already I can't wait till the next one in the series comes out. Nora Robert's is such a prolific writer that you'd expect some of her books to less than 5's but not this one. Are we sure there isn't 2 or 3 of her??
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Review: I loved this book, I just finished reading it and can't wait for the next one. The power of this book reaches out and grabs you. Witches, love, and a great setting, it has it all. The characters are alive, and you can feel thier longings. It's fast paced and impossible to put down. Nell Channing left her abusive husband and ran, far and fast. She reached the Island of Sisters and knew she was through running. Sherrif Zach Todd is strong but not silent, a man of most women's dreams. I loved it.
