Rating: Summary: Get ready for a treat! Review: Nora Roberts is one of those authors you could never get tired of. Most authors produce a new book every year or so, but this is not the case with Ms. Roberts. Every few months, she cranks out something new- to the delight of her fans. you will always find the bookstores full of her latest books, which are always well written and special. My favorite thing about Nora Roberts, however, is her ability to conjur up enchanting trilogies. Her previous triology was breathtaking and I was very sad to see it end. Ms. Roberts has started another fabulous trio, however, and book lovers everywhere will devour her latest offering. The mystical aspect of it is delightful and the Three Sister's Island setting very quaint and charming. Although I live on the wrong coast to know if her descriptions are acurate, they will make you wish you live in New England. _Dance Upon the Air_ is a little fluffy and there is no pressing need to read it- it won't change your opinions of the world or really make you think about something. But, it is the perfect book to read curled up by the fire and I thoroughly enjoyed getting lost in it. Ms. Roberts' prose is enjoyable and her ideas are creative. All in all, it is an enjoyable read that I would highly reccommend to book lovers. I can't wait for the next book!
Rating: Summary: A Recommendation from My Sister Review: This was the first time I read a Nora Roberts book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the romance combined with the witchcraft. Also the small town support, etc. was refreshing. My sister had suggested I read the book and I am now waiting for book 2 and 3 so I can send her the books.
Rating: Summary: Awesome! Review: I can't put her books down! Dance upon the Air allowed me to become involved in the lives of Nell, Zack, Mia and Ripley. I can't wait to read Heaven and Earth as soon as it is available!
Rating: Summary: a magical experience Review: This was my second book by Nora Roberts that I had read and it was amazing....It is a story of a woman and her journey to find a better life for herself....Roberts writes of a beautiful island with a magical past....excellent characters really have you hooked in....a fast a wonderful read!!
Rating: Summary: mixed feelings Review: Did you ever see that movie with Julia Roberts, "Sleeping with the Enemy"? Well that was basically this book, with a little witchcraft thrown in to make it a little different. While I liked the book, and it was an entertaining read, I felt a little disapointed in Ms. Roberts that she could not have come up with a plot that had not already been used. Having said that, I will probably read the next two books in this trilogy anyway.
Rating: Summary: Fan-tabulous Review: I have become a true Nora Roberts fan. I love sagas and she seems to do a lot of them. My first exposure to Ms Roberts was Dance Upon the Air. Once I started this book, I just couldn't stop. All of her characters came to life which made the reading much much more enjoyable. I was totally taken by this book from the beginning to the end. Nora Roberts is an engrossing novelist and I applaud her.
Rating: Summary: another winner Review: I found the book to be great fun. A very pleasant excape from this world's problems. The characters were funny and the mystery was enough to keep me turning the pages enen though dinner was burning the the family was hungry!I can not wait to get the next book in the series:)
Rating: Summary: Real uplifting... Review: I'm a BIG fan of Nora Roberts. Her books have served as true inspirations. "Dance upon the Air" was an uplifting read for me personally. The characters were painted with real intensity and form. It was as if, Nell the heroine, was in my very living room. I could actually feel her struggles and triumphs, as if they were my own. Mia, the town witch, reflected a character with true spirit and strength, especially with how she took Nell under her wing, adding the hope of trying to aide her in mending her own wing. Who wouldn't want a sister like that! Touching, and Mia's underlying sensitivity brought tears to my eyes. Ripley, Zach's tough cop sister, was also inspiring. Her take-no-sxxt attitude added a great balance to the mix. The male characters, Zach and Beast, really needed to be a bit more revealing, however, their characterizations offered highlights to the scars and colors of the THREE heroines! I am truly looking forward to this triology's progression. You certainly are my favorite Nora.
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK!! Review: This was the first Nora Roberts book I've read and I'll definitely read more of them. I thought this book was going to be all mushy romance, but it wasn't. It had a nice blend of romance and action that I couldn't put it down.
Rating: Summary: Trilogy lovers rejoice! Review: I love Nora Roberts' family sagas; she is a master at weaving secondary characters into the main story without it being artificial or pasted on. "Dance Upon the Air" is a perfect example of that rare ability. Nell Channing and Zach Todd would have been enough by themselves to fill out a very nice romance novel, but Nora is not satisfied with stopping there. Mia Devlin and Ripley Todd, not to mention the villain of the book, are all given their fair share of space to fascinate, amuse and horrify us, respectively. The plot is also typical Roberts in that it is rich and unhurried, yet every detail furthers the story to its inevitably dramatic conclusion. When Nora likes her characters and has the space to bring them to life, there is no one in the genre who can touch her as a storyteller. This book definitely fits in that category. Can any of us possibly wait patiently for the other two books come out? I doubt it!
