Rating: Summary: Not anything like King's other books (negatively) Review: This book is so not-King. I unconsciously checked the author's name many times before I really realized it. There was nothing left from the real King, the master of story-telling. It was just another unimaginative fairy tale.
Rating: Summary: I love it! Review: I reaad this book yesterday and couldn't put it down. I don't read much Stephen King, in fact, the only other King I've read is the Dark Tower series. (Those are excellent too)
Rating: Summary: An Interesting Departure Review: I thought this book was an interesting departure for Stephen King. I loved the way he told it in a fairy tale manner. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who has read The Stand. It is interesting to revisit Randall Flagg and learn a bit more his background. I thought this book was good, but not quite as good as King's usual horror.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful! Review: I was looking for a book to read, and came across the 1987 printing of this novel in the family study. Not joking, it was dusty, and old, and the pages were very torn, making it look very fantasy-like. I read it, and I loved it at once! The plot, the characters. All the time I felt I was there in Delain and watching everything unfold before my eyes. Today the book not only bears my three sisters' names on the front page, who read it long before I did, but my name as well. Now I keep it by my bedside and pick it up whenever I'm bored or before I sleep! One read is never enough!
Rating: Summary: An enjoyable fantasy novel Review: This was a quick and easy read, but "Lord of the Rings" it ain't !!! The story is superficial and the characters rather one-dimensional, but it was sufficiently fun to keep the interest. It falls way short of the best of the Stephen King horror novels and is inferior to the "Dark Tower" stories. One for the King completists...
Rating: Summary: Extremly interesting if nothing else!!! Review: The polt was suberb. It really was. I didn't care much for the person it was written in. At times it was down right corny. But Stephan King as always can tell any tale and make it great. (I live only 30 minutes from him by the way). I like his characters, they were well developed and Peter was the perfect King. Thanks for all you're wonderful work, King!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: WONDERFULLY WRITTEN!!!!!! Review: I have never read a Stephen King book before, because I thought they were gross and scary. After reading this book I was totally wrong. This book is full of magic, and fights between good and evil. This was one of the best books I have ever read.
Rating: Summary: Not bad for younger readers Review: More of a teen's first fantasy, lacks the drive of King's horror plots. Readable but not something I'd recommend to a regular King buff but would to more of a sci-fi addict.
Rating: Summary: One of his best, and one of my all-time favorites Review: While reading this book I sometimes had to stop and check myself and skeptically raise my eyebrows and say "Is this really a Stephen King book?!" It is a refreshing departure from his usual works and is an astounding, exiting, breathtaking and yes, even frightning look at future ruler Roland and his brother's future as kings of(England?) I found myself staying up night after night, held captive by the seductive spell this novel had over me. I hope there's a sequel or something that tells us the brother's further adventures and what happens to Flagg.
Rating: Summary: First King novel I read! Review: This was first Stephen King book I read and enjoyed it. I am not a great fan of horror but enjoy fantasy so I read my sister's copy when I was a teenager and was pleasantly surprised. Great character development and a real adventure. it was quite a journey..
