Rating: Summary: Fun to read, but predictable Review: I read this book bouncing along on a boring drive in a Honda Odyssey from Connecticut to Atlanta, Geargia (obviously it didn't take me the entire time). It was a fun novel to read. It is a "leisurely" novel. It wasn't especially interesting and an observant reader could make a pretty good guess at what was coming next. An excellent book to "pass the time." Definitely not your usual King and not better (in my humble opinion(then again, he was doing it for his daughter so I have to cut him a little slack)). Nonetheless, an interesting twist to King's writing style and one that should be read if for no other reason than that it is "fun".
Rating: Summary: Another classic from the King Review: I've just finished reading "Eyes" for the second time and it just seems to get better the more you read it. The evil that is Flagg is portrayed so effectively, as is the innocence and manliness of our hero, Peter. Although there is never any doubt how this story could end, you still seem to be so involved in this tale of fantastic proportions that the ending somehow sneaks up on you. Keep those magical novels for the younger reader coming Mr. King.
Rating: Summary: The best Steven King book written Review: One of my favorite authors is Steven King. Only sometimes his work can start to sound the same from book to book. This book changed the mind set I had. Steven King's readers have criticized the book for leaving the normal horror realm in which King normally writes, and moving into a "fantasy world", but the story continues to speak for itself in my mind. The story of a royal family in Medieval times, plagued by an evil magician named Flagg, conicidentally the same name King used for the devil in "The Stand". I don't want to give away the story, but it remains one of my favorite books.
Rating: Summary: It's Great Review: This book takes place in the castle named Delain. What a great book. It's a fantastic fantasy novel.
Rating: Summary: King proves he can stretch Review: One of the best fantasy novels of all time. Well plotted, brisk, without the diahrea of character background characteristic of many of King's other works. One point to quibble with the other reviews, I just can't shake the feeling that the Flagg portrayed here is NOT the R.F./ Walter character from The Stand and the Dark Tower series. That character had a sarcastic, ironic tone this Flagg seems to be missing. Also, I can't see this one putting on jeans and quoting rock lyrics. Given how good King is at character development, well, who knows. It's too late at night to care about this sort of thing.
Rating: Summary: dragon eyes Review: This book needs a sequel! Well done, Mr. King
Rating: Summary: This book is very excelent! Review: I feel that this bok is riveting and very suspensful. There is never a moment where the reader is left wondreing "what happens next?" he/she just keeps on reading and is so cuaght up in the story that they might as well call in sick to work.
Rating: Summary: This book is about a young prince being put on trial. Review: The book The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King takes place in the Kingdom ofDelin. The story is about the wrongful imprisonment of the heir to the throne. peter was accused of murdering his father and was sentenced to imprisonment at a cell at the top of a tower. Know he must be able to prove that he did not murder his father (Roland) and to be let free and to claim his place as the rightful ruler of Delin. This is one of the best books I have ever read. This book takes place in my favorite time frame: the middle ages. I recomend this book to all people that like fantasies and Stephen King's novels. This has almost everything in it: magic wizards, dragons, swords, action, and treachery I would like to award Stephen King for writting this awesome and wonderful book. Reviewed by John Neeley
Rating: Summary: something completely different from the "King" of horror... Review: I bought this book approx. 7/8 yrs ago for my daughter. King had written it for his own children. I couldn't get her to read it, so I did..it became and remains one of my all time favs..and lo and behold when my daughter FINALLY read it 2 yrs ago..it became one of her favs!
Rating: Summary: His absolute Best Review: I read this book about five years ago, and have been trying to find a copy of it ever since. I dind't remember the name, and since it's such an unpopular King book, it was very hard to find. Why is it so unpopular? I highly recommend it to people of all ages.
