Review: Love and hope is a common thread in Koontz' books, but it is never done better than in this one. Koontz is a master storyteller and wordcrafter of the first order.Koontz weaves an interesting read about government conspiricies, a dog that can type on a keyboard, romance, and thrilling scenes of action and witty repartee. Words don't do Koontz justice!!!

Summary: I couldn't put the book down!!
Review: I rarely read books over 200 pages because I simply just don't have the patience to. But this book, every page is filled with suspense!!! It simply captivates you and gives you chills down your back! Seriously, after reading this book, I bought tons of other thrillers by Dean Koontz, but I never finished any of them because they all had boring moments, but not Watchers. You will definitely enjoy reading this book and you will regret not buying it sooner!!

Summary: Best story every written, and read well too
Review: This has to be THE book of all time. Of course, being a dog lover helps. I've read this book many times, and always enjoy it. I had to look a long time to find the tapes, but they were well worth it. The reading is very well done. Dean, you really SHOULD reissue this. I would sure like a copy that didn't need balance control changes like this one.

Review: This book is a must read for any Dean Koontz fan. If you like animals (dogs in paticular) you will love this! It captured my imagination like no other book I've read. It will make you scared but also make you laugh and most of all cry!

Summary: No Comparisons. A Must.
Review: This is by far the best book I've ever read. Period. I'm not yet 20 years old, but this is the best book I've read by any author in my life thus far. My dad's got lots of Dean Koontz books on the bookshelf, collecting dust and gaining a fine yellow tint to the pages. I've read most of them, and one night I had nothing else to read; until I moved away some of the paperbacks stacked up in the front. Behind all these, was this book, as if out of harm's way.
I picked it up, read the main idea of what the story entailed, and decided I'd give it a shot. Good Idea #1.
I read about 80 pages that night, and I could hardly put the book down until I was through the good parts. But that's just it! That's not possible. You tell yourself that you're going to read 5 chapters in one night, then go to bed. But then on the fifth chapter, the story just leaves you hanging, wondering what will happen next. It's near impossible to read two or three chapters and then just put the book down. It's that good.
Two things happened that I've never experienced while reading a book:
1. Extreme emotions surged through my veins while in the midst of the story. I was thouroughly immensed in the story, and I HATED for it to end. It's a shame there wasn't a sequel. And by sequel, I don't mean one modeled after the movie series.
2. I now want to re-read the book. I've read some good books in my life- believe me- but nothing quite like this. I've read the Harry Potter series thus far, and I've enjoyed each book tremendously, but I've never had the urge to re-read any of them.
The phrase, "There are no words to express how I feel", does not quite pertain to this particular book, as you can plainly see, but take my word for it. It's well worth it.

Summary: Good dog, Bad dog
Review: This is most definitely Dean Koontz's best book I've ever read! The way he has one dog being the hero and one being the enemy is different and surprising. The dogs are in place of a human and play the human job. You get more involved with the smart dog, Einstein, who is even more loving and smart than some humans. The dogs are examples of humans advanced technology, which can turn out worse or better than ever imagined. There is another creature that was created, the Outsider, who is the total opposite of Einstein in personality. Although he is just as smart, he is full of anger and jealousy, and is willing to destroy anything in his path to get to Einstein. The dogs are experiments from government labs that went extremely well and at the same time, very wrong. Both of the dogs were as smart as intended to be, although one did not posses the looks and kindness of the other. Einstein had it all, while the Outsider grew to hate Einstein more and more everyday. The Outsider knew how ugly and disliked he was, and this caused him to want to destroy Einstein more than anything did. Einstein did more than the creators even thought he would do. He could sense things normal animals or people could not. Bringing people together was normal and easy for him. The Outsider despised these qualities for he did not possess them. Even if you do not enjoy reading, this book is almost impossible to put down. It has non-stop suspense and before you know it, you are almost done with the book. The way Dean Koontz constantly has a piece of knowledge hidden makes the reader keep reading until the answer is discovered. Reading this book is only a positive experience for there are many messages about life. Read this book and you will be inspired! It's an awesome read, and will not bore you from the very start!

Summary: Watchers
Review: This book is REALLY good... no its unbelievably good! So many stories in this one book, all tying together and revolving around the most unique character (in my opinion) you will ever find, Einstien (the dog). I would recommend this book to those who dont read on a regular basis, or just havent read dean koontz... it will win you over and crave for more! I truly became excited, worried and, yes, on several occasions almost came to tears! READ IT!!! I never knew a book could be THIS good, and if you watched the crummy movie, forgot about that [movie], read the book.

Summary: Classic Koontz...yet again
Review: Sometimes saying "classic" is supposed to mean good things. Not in this case. This is the typical Dean Koontz theme. Bad government labs create mutant good and bad creatures. Overly intelligent dog that somehow is as insightful as humans. It was nice the first two times I read Koontz but frankly he is just too much of a formula writer to be read often. On the rare occassion that he goes beyond this formula it seems ok. Unfortunatly he is pretty much stuck on this theme. God forbid that there were never government labs, Dean would be out of a job.
