Summary: THE BEST DEAN HAS WRITTEN (AND THAT I HAVE READ)
Review: This is the book that got me reading again. I just could not put it down until i had finished it. A friend actually lent it to me so when i returned it to him, i had to go out and buy my own personal copy. This is dean's finest work and i have converted many a reader to him through lending it to them.

Summary: Great book one of the BEST I've read so far
Review: Most books can be put down not this one. Once out of your hands you must pick it back up and continue reading. A gripping story which is to say the least thought provoking.

Summary: I WANT A GOLDEN RETREIVER!!!!!
Review: OK, so maybe I was a cat lover before, but after reading this book I definitely want a Golden Retreiver now!

I first read this book a few years ago when I was a freshman in high school. Even then I absolutely loved it. This is one of the few books I own that the bindings are falling apart because I've read it so many times (the others, in case you're interested, are Koontz' Lightning and Dark Rivers of the Heart and Crichton's Jurassic Park). Every time I read it, it gets better. I pick up on a plot detail that i missed the first (or seventeenth) time around, yet even the same old scenes retain their appeal -- I laughed at Einstein's scrabble-written notes, shivered with Travis when he was escaping from the Outsider in the very beginning, cried when I though Einstein had died -- both times. Even though I still have many more books to read in my lifetime, Watchers is and will continue to be on my list of my absolute favorite books.

Summary: Hollywood, come on!!
Review: This book is too good for words. There have been THREE Movies based on it, and NONE of them have touched what this book is. Of course, I rented them all in hopes. All I can say is, Moviemakers........ MAKE A MOVIE THAT IS THIS BOOK. Quit screwing around with it. Quit making the characters into teenagers.... quit making them into jungle commando's (who came up with that?). Make them who they ARE. Make a mini-series, it needs more than a couple hours. I read like crazy, but there is no book like this one. Of course, I also have dogs.

Summary: Phenomenal! A triumph of emotion and spirit!
Review: A truly amazing book! Koontz blends a wonderful storytelling style with his amazing ability to animate his characters. By the end, you will know and love all of them! Travis and Nora overcome all odds in their improbable relationship, the Outsider struggles with his "killer/soldier" genetic makeup, and Einstein...well, Einstein will take your breath away. He's a companion and a buddy like no dog you've ever seen. Take a trip on the "Watchers" train; the ups and downs will make your head spin, and I guarantee that this is one book you will never forget!

Summary: A gripping story that doesn't let go!
Review: I am an avid reader and this is definently one of the best books ever to have been written. The idea of genetically enginereed animals makes you wonder if it may be happening for real. The plot is suspenseful and the characters so real you can almost touch them. If ever someone wanted to enjoy a very wide range of emotions I would definently reccomend this book. I just don't see how you can not like it.

Summary: My favorite Writer
Review: My favorite of his books - full of his upbeat style, and best of all, Einstein. A must read for all dog lovers! If you liked this one, try Midnight also, which has another great dog character.

Summary: EXITING, SAD, UPLIFTING, GREAT!!
Review: A great book, the best by Koontz I have read yet. There are a few small parts in the book that drag a little, but other then that a MUST READ BOOK....

Summary: Simply the best
Review: This was by far the "BEST" book that I have ever read. I must say that I am not much of a reader and this was possibly the first book that I have read word for word. I am only a Junior in high school. I am male with lots of other things on the mind (girls and sports) but this book was not put down, Basketball shoes were put up and the phone was not answered. This book was by far the best.

Summary: Yeah, it's okay. WHAT, WHO AM I KIDDING, IT'S AWESOME!!!
Review: DO NOT READ THIS NOVEL IF: 1) You hate dogs; 2) You have no soul; 3) You despise books that make your heart sing and your blood race. This is far and away Dean Koontz's finest hour. The funny thing is, this book ought to suck. It features a Disneyesque premise (intelligent golden retriever), characters out of a romance novel, and a government-conspiracy/psycho hitman subplot that has been done ad nauseam (mostly in Koontz's own work). BUT...somehow it doesn't suck. It sings. It made even this jaded, cynical reader laugh, cry, and root for the heroes like I never thought I could. It's a story about how love, courage, friendship and hope triumph over despair and loss -- it's unabashedly sentimental, but it's not dishonest in its emotions. The gradual courtship between the hero and heroine is enchanting -- they are a charming couple and it's fun watching them grow to trust and love each other. The dog Einstein is perfect -- he is exactly the way you would imagine a supersmart dog would be. There's an undercurrent of pain and despair in the book, and Koontz doesn't sugarcoat it. It's what makes the heroes' victories so satisfying. Even the monster of the book -- Einstein's dark counterpart -- is given a "human" side (in one of the book's unexpectedly touching moments, we find out that the vicious monster has a weakness for Mickey Mouse). This is a special book, one that you will remember and cherish. Read it on a rainy day, when you're feeling blue and alone in the universe.
