Summary: Did you ever have to finally decide? <g>
Review: Wow. One of the things I really like about this series is whenever I finish one of the books, I'm on this incredible emotional rush. Yes, they're pretty light reads, yes, they are your standard "tough-girl" fiction...but they're so much more. Anita Blake is the sort of person I'd like to be and yet would really hate being. Constantly in situations that require absolutely clear judgement, hers is oft clouded by her two boyfriends, both monsters. Richard, mild-mannered werewolf-cum-teacher, whom she loves desperately for his heat and "aliveness" or Jean-Claude, exquisitely beautiful Master Vampire, who has pursued Anita for the entire series, usually with something up his sleeve, but she finds herself lusting after him any way. Trying to keep myself from offering up too much of the story, perhaps Anita finds a way to love both of them and keep them in her life. Or not. This is a great series, and a wonderful book in it. Go out and buy this. It starts with Guilty Pleasures. Go. Buy it. Read it. You won't be sorry.

Summary: Sensual, action packed and leaving your wanting more!
Review: Laurell K. Hamiltons'(Anita Blake) is savy and hard hitting. When you pick up the book you can not put it down. Wild, wonderful, roller coaster ride you don't want to get off of. She leaves you wanting the next one in the series immediately. Exceptionally gifted writer!

Summary: Choices, Endings and beginnings
Review: This one is a little different, but it may just be that Ms. H is ready to take things in a new direction. I recomend this book for anyone following the series, but DO NOT read this if you haven't read the preceeding books. It will be hard to follow and ruin some of the suspence in the earlier works. I am curious to see how the next book turns out. If you haven't read the series starting with Guilty Pleasures, I strongly suggest you BUY IT NOW. ^_

Summary: Best Anita Blake Yet!!
Review: Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter Extraordinare, is back with another spellbinding adventure that is full of unexpected twists and some eye opening and jaw dropping turns! This time Anita is once again up to her ears in bloody bodies but in addition to her usual corpse raising and vampire slaying she's also being hunted down by the best Assassin money can buy. She's got to figure out who has put such a high price on her head and why. As if this isn't enough to worry about Anita's lovelife is a major mess. She's torn between her growing attraction and affection for Jean Claude, the sexier than sin Master Vampire who tempts her with his every word, and her loyal and gorgeous werewolf boyfriend Richard who wants marriage and a normal life. Unfortunately, neither is willing to share her on a permanent basis. I can't say enough good things about this sexy and witty series of books. They've got great dialogue, fast paced plots, fascinating characters and _incredible_ sexual tension. Instead of petering out and getting stale like some series do these books just keep heating up! I really love the way Ms. Hamilton is slowly developing these characters and revealing new surprises with each book. The adventures, magic, gore, and creatures are a big attraction for me but the reason I eagerly turn the pages is to delve into these fascinating characters lives and watch the new developments in their ongoing menage a tres <g>

Summary: Anita is fleshing out
Review: Great Book!!! Anita is becoming a rounded character complete with fears, insecurity, prejudice and a soft spot for a cute butt just like the rest of us. A very enjoyable read - can't wait until the next one

Summary: Anita really comes to life!
Review: This book has a return of all our favorite characters, Jean-Claude, Richard and Edward, from the previous novels and ties up some loose ends allowing for new characters to come and Anita to further explore her growing powers in both necromancy and love. Anita finally comes to terms with who she is and what she wants in life. But the decisions are not easy, nor cheap! All it took was a good hitter to remind her that her life is precious and not to be wasted. Now if she could just figure out who the monsters really are. I love the twist on vampires and a great heroine that even men can enjoy. Laurell Hamilton just keeps getting better! I cannot wait for the next book!

Summary: It is a big disappointment.
Review: If it had been any other book, and not from "Anita Blake--Vampire Hunter" series, I would have called it very interesting. As it is, it looses in comparison. First of all, there is no "horrible murder" investigation. There is a horrible murder, but no investigation. This book is simply a continuation of previous stories, and it is quite impossible to read it on its own, without knowing what happened previously. You loose too much of a context. I am also very unhappy with the transformation that happens to vampires throughout the course of this novel. Vampires are monsters, hungry for blood and power. If they are not, they are not that interesting. That is what vampires were in the series. Well, not any more! And what is happening to Anita herself? She is not only getting more boring, but also more stupid, or so it seems. I have waited for this book since last September. It was not worth the wait

Summary: The most powerful Anita Blake book yet!
Review: Someone has put a contract out on Anita and who would she turn to but the two men in her life? In a powerful and yet, sometimes, disturbing look into the world of the preternatural, Laurell K. Hamilton pulls no punches. She makes you wonder just who the real monsters are and where has the line gone between the good guys and the bad guys. Be prepared for the long haul because this is one book you will *not* be able to put down until you've read the last word

Summary: Laurell Hamilton cannot be stopped!
Review: For those who have followed Anita through all her adventures, I bet you keep wondering if Laurell Hamilton can keep the pace and the suspense. You're not the only ones, but I can tell you she has no intention of stopping now! Anita is once again drawn into the world of the lycanthropes with Richard in THE KILLING DANCE and her personal life is wreaking havoc. Torn between her desire for Jean-Claude and her love for Richard, Anita sooner or later will have to choose one before she explodes. A book you won't be able to put down until the very last page and you sigh your last breath

Summary: The most delicious one yet!
Review: These Anita Blake novels get better and better with each installment and Laurell K. Hamilton has outdone herself with The Killing Dance. What I love most about this novel is that it contains a particular unforgettable chapter. More on that later. The strong, independent, trigger-happy heroine's new dilemma is way out of her league. Someone has put a price on her head and it is up to her and her assassin friend (of sorts) Edward to find out who wants her out of the picture and why. Many people have wanted Anita dead, but this one's an unknown enemy, something that does not sit well with her. Seeking refuge from her two boyfriends, vampire master of the city Jean-Claude and alpha werewolf Richard, will give her enough time to investigate the murder of a vampire and a declared battle among lycanthropes before the hit man finds her...

The sixth part of the series is centered more on shape shifters, lycanthropes and whether or not Richard decides to be courageous (a sugarcoated way of putting it, really) enough to fight to the death with another alpha werewolf. His self-righteousness got irritating at times. Richard was fun and flirtatious in Circus of the Damned, but I no longer see anything remotely appealing about him. Why Anita loves him so much is beyond me. Jean-Claude on the other hand becomes sexier and more compelling in each installment. The love triangle between Anita, Richard and JC comes to a head in this one and readers will finally get some of the erotica that's been promised to them since Guilty Pleasures. But Ms. Hamilton makes us wait awhile until we get to read the juicy chapter I mentioned earlier. You can cut the sexual tension with a knife before said chapter comes along. But it was worth the wait. This is by far by the best part of the series! I cannot wait to continue to read more of these great characters, especially Jean-Claude. He's truly one sexy vampire! He can call me "ma petite" any time. :-)
