Rating: Summary: The best book I've bought all year! Review: What can I say that hasn't been said already, it was a great book. Like all the books in this series, theres lots of blood and monsters to be killed. I read in some of the other reviews that the romances dulled the edge some what, speaking for myself I thought that it was handled really well, after all Antia does need a break sometimes. This book contained all the things I like so much about the series, it is funny, fast and the speed at which the killing blows are delivered is amazing. I think all her books would make great films and I can't wait for her next instalment to be delivered in May(how do you find out these things?). I hope Laurell Hamilton continues this series for a long time, as I can't get enough. Great title and art work too, don't you think!
Rating: Summary: Two thumbs up!! Review: I loved this book. Finally, Anita chooses Jean-Claude and what a love scene. WOW!! I've read all 6 Anita Blake books and I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Rating: Summary: It was the coolest!!!! Review: I thought this book was great. I can't wait until the next book comes out. May seems to far away. I read the other reveiws and I'm glad I'm not the only one who imagined Edward and Anita together. I didn't really like the twist the story took with Jean Claude and Anita as lovers though. I don't really care for Richard that much, but he's better than Jean Claude. The book was still great though and Anita still kicked the bad guys' butts before the end of the story. She's a true woman of the 90's. I'm still rereading the three books I own about Anita and I love every one. Laurell K. Hamilton is a wonderful writer and I hope she continues for a long time.
Rating: Summary: Coolest series ever!!!! Review: I've read all six books and loved um. I read them all in two weeks, I just couldn't put them down. At first I wanted Anita and Jean-Claude together, but by the end of the sixth book I really wanted Anita and Richard to be together. Have Jean-Claude play the "better monster" as he once put it. I can't wait to see what the next books will be like. Sometime Mrs. Hamilton will have to tell us Dolph's big secret. There also is the triumvirate, something really exciting is going to have to happen with that. Anita also owes Edward for Harvey, I wonder what kind of things they will get into next. I guess we'll find out around May. I know I can't wait. Can you
Rating: Summary: A nice dearture from the others Review: This is probably the best in the series so far. We thankfully don't have to deal with Anita's job, and can focus on her relationship with Jean-Claude and Richard.
I'm glad that Jean-Claude gets "fleshed" out into a more complete character, and that Anita finally makes her choice...
In all probably the best in the series, however, it is a departure from the styles of the previous books (very, ah... sensuous).
Rating: Summary: From monster-hating redneck to a more open minded person. Review: I've been hot for Jean Claude since "Guilty Pleasures", and six books later, finally, sex! The anticipation was killer, but it was well worth the wait! I enjoyed Anita's metamophasis from monster-hating redneck into a more open-minded person. As an ex-policewoman, I appreciate the gritty, authentic details in weoponry and gore scenes, so many other books as rather vague in that area. The battle scenes come off as real to me also. I've re-read all six books several times, and I can't wait to find out what happens next...I have the feeling things are not over with Richard! Go girl! Go girl
Rating: Summary: I grabbed it as soon as I saw it on the shelf! Review: I might be slightly biast to this book becauseI was very unhappy at Anita's choice between her two guys. I had her future with the other one all planned. . .well sort of. I just hate it when it doesn't work out the way you want it to. Oh well, this book was still pretty good, but Anita has really lost her edge because of all her self doubts. What originally got my attention in this series was Anita's strenght and her will to get up and go. Now it's just a love triangle and am I a monster? Don't get me wrong there is no way that I am going to pass up the next one when it comes out.The story really picked up though when Edward joined the sceen. He hasn't changed and brings back the original flare of the story, and action sequences
Rating: Summary: A sassy butt-kicken Vampire Huntress Review: Though Anita lost a little of her edge in this book by love, who wouldn't? I believe Edward would be next. Just found out her next book is finished and it's at the publishers. It is coming out~May '98
Rating: Summary: Vampires, and werewolves, and executioners - oh my... Review: I do love Ms. Anita Blake. Funny, Sassy, take no prisoners kind of woman. Yet, there is a part of her that is a monster too, and in part six of this series, she finally realizes this, and comes to a somewhat stunning but somewhat anticipated conclusion.
_The Killing Dance_ is just what you expect from Ms. Hamilton, fun, a quick and easy read, full of hunger and sex, blood, vampires and bad guys. Tho, I wonder where her side-kick from Bloody Bones went in this novel. He's myseriously absent. Two thumbs up, especially if you are a fan of the series, the ending is the worth the price of admission.
Rating: Summary: HATE IT OR LOVE IT Review: As a devoted reader of the Anita Blake series, I was a bit hurt at her choice of bed partners. I was really rooting for the other guy, and I'm ready to
get this over with. Enough love triangles, get on
to the story! As always, Anita's spending most
of the books killing people and filling the place
with the best gore! I love the characters, especially
Edward. And I LOVED Harley!!! Too bad he's dead.
Just when you think Mrs. Hamilton can't come up with anymore good characters...still, this book
was a bit boring. Anita's losing her edge. What
attracted me to this series was that Anita was cold-hearted, and wasn't afraid to kick butt. Now
she's so confused about what's what, am I one
of the monsters, blah blah blah. Oh, of course, I'll
read the next, but it still won't be the same (Food for
thought: I know Anita'll never have time for this
with this love triangle, but ain't it a great thought?
Edward and Anita! Imagine trying to mug them
on a date!!!
