Rating: Summary: The book is much, much better! Review: This audio is very abridged. Many key scenes were left out. The section where Laurent tells Beauty about serving Lady Elveria is completely left out, and Lexius is left in the garden when Tristan and Laurent are taken to the ship by Nicholas and the Captian.
Rating: Summary: a good (not great) ending Review: this is a good ending to a wonderful series of erotica. its not great for the fact that one would wish Rice/Roquelaure would have gone into many a detail to what was just dismissed in this book(the mutaltion of the women of the foreign land, more of beauty's feelings, and a maybe a bit on how lexuis went through). however, it was a great read. i truly like the last four chapters. like the first 2 books, this is full of S&M, but it is still a good story. im glad a bit was taken away from the ways of the european/white society, and have a taste of something foreign & exotic. i really like the fact of everyone bisexual! a good book and series (overall).
Rating: Summary: Compelling Conclusion to Exquisite Erotic Fairy Tale Review: This is the last of the beauty series, though definitely not any less in excitement or erotic thrills.Once again, Anne Rice takes the reader on a sensual tour of sexual fantasy, which leaves them gasping for air. The story remains intriguing until the very end, daring you to put down the book before you find your own satisfaction. True to form, this is well-written, exciting, and just generally good fiction! It is, however, written for the over eighteen crowd as its sex scenes are VERY graphic in nature.
Rating: Summary: Submission is never released it's Dominated! Review: This is the third and final installment of Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty Series of Erotic Fantasy. Beauty has been kidnapped by enemy soldiers; along with Tristian, Laurent, and a handful of others. They are taken across the sea to a Sultan of great power and his palace of numerous slaves. I found this final book to be rather tame but then again perhaps I was sufficiently shocked in the two previous books that all the sexual escapades seemed boring. I am glad I read this series, it definitely opens your mind to a different mind set of acceptance and desire. Through out the book its characters decide what is their desire to be a slave and submit or to rise above submission as a dominator. The bottom line is to be a true dominant you have to have submitted to everything to understand the dynamics of Submission. I enjoyed the conclusion to Beauty's Journey of Submission but I do think it could have been better. Better character development and perhaps a different style of writing. girldiver:)
Rating: Summary: Anne Rice's erotica at it's best! Review: This is the third and last instalment of the Beauty series, and, by far, the best. If you have gotten this far in the series, graphic S & M discriptions have probably gotten a bit less shocking and now it's time for a really good story. This is the book for that. Oh, you won't have to miss your quota of intensly-worded erotica, but the story is compelling enough not to have to skip pages of yet-more-sex to find it. And this book wraps up the series very nicely. It's a keeper, as are the other two books. But, be warned in advance, if hardcore erotica isn't what you're into, move on to her more recent offerings because this series isn't for the faint of heart or easily offended.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good way to end Review: This one was not as good as "Claiming of Sleeping Beauty" but better than "Beauty's Release." After all the hardcore stuff, the ending is really sweet (I'm not going to give it away if you haven't read it). I love it when Beauty finally makes a temporary slave out of her suitor, and when she makes him stand on the stool--naked--and examines him all over. Laurent's character was great too.
Rating: Summary: Amusing more than anything else Review: Time to get out the paddle, you bad, BAD girl! When I first read the first book of this trilogy I disliked it: I thought it was abusive and ugly, and my feminist peers would generally agree with me. Eventually, years later, I came to realize that the author's fantasy life does not equal anything in the real world. It seemed more like comedy, though there are places within the trilogy where Beauty is moved to compassion and tenderness that makes turns away from the comic to the endearing.
Rating: Summary: Oh my! Review: Well, Sleeping Beauty was never told like this before! If you go for this kind of thing, I guess you'll like it, but it's way too much spanking and kind of silly groveling around and subjugation that I can't take seriously.
Rating: Summary: Review Question Review: What is the targeted educational level of the audience Anne Rand is writing for in Beauty's Release? As this is adult material we can ascertain that readers are expected to be 18 or older; but in order to comprehend the material in all it's complexity, what would the minimum developmental age of the reader be? This is a pertinent question for us as we have an 18 year old reader who may be considered developmentally delayed, and she is thoroughly enjoying this novel. We'd appreciate any input. Thank you.
