Rating: Summary: GREAT DISCRIPTIVE WRITING Review: Ms. Rice certainly has the capacity for creative, discriptive writing. I had no idea there were so many ways to spank a person. As with the first novel in this trilogy, the idividual reader must make up their own mind as to whether or not this is true erotic literature. I suppose if you are into bondage, S&M and the like, then it truely would be. If not, then it is rather scary stuff and could, to some, be quite offensive. Ms. Rice certainly has a wonderful imagination. I did enjoy her writing and am not sorry I read this work. I cannot truely recommend it to everyone, as I feel it would not be everyones cup of tea...it certainly was not mine...but hey, that is just me. I do feel that Ms. Rice was rather brave in publishing this work, that alone would take nerve. Readers should be warned though, there is some hard stuff here. This is one of those books that probably will not become a first run movie anytime soon...well, on second thought, the way things are going, maybe I am wrong here.
Rating: Summary: Beauty's Punishment Review: Not as good as the first in this series but it will keep your interest. Would recommend reading The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty first since it is the first book in the series.
Rating: Summary: It is the 2nd best in the series Review: Of the three books in this exciting series, this is the second best. The third, by far is much better, and more interesting story-wise. I found I got tired of the same ol' S & M discriptions, over and over, and even began skipping pages at a time to find the story in this book. After the initial shock, giggling, and "can they really do that?" it's the story that propels the reader on. In this book, the story is ok, but not great.
Rating: Summary: an intro to fantastical bdsm.... Review: so, ok, a lot of her descriptions are trite obfuscations of `setting' and character development is weak, but who cares. getting to the meat of the story lines, there are some very applicable erotic arousing scenes of one-on-one sadism/masochism and sexual `torture'. it was really an eye opener for me about the relationship between master/slave, that is obviously an element in our society today. at first reading i was drawn in, but quickly started to flip faster to the very explicit sexual parts. a most enjoyable book, in terms of it's quaint period setting and possible arousing segments. and i think almost anyone can read it and `find' something that too lurks in their heart of hearts...
Rating: Summary: Anne Rice's 'Beauty' series Review: The works of Anne Rice in her series of books on 'Beauty' were very stimulating books to read. To read these books are a must, especially if you want to put some spice back into your life. These were by far the best books I've ever read because I couldn't stand to put them down at all. At the end of these books you are yearning to know more. Trust me, you won't be disappointed !
Rating: Summary: Beauty's Punishment Review: This audio cassette of Anne Rice's Beauty's Punishment, alternates with stories of domination and submission as Beauty and the other slaves encounter various situations with their new masters. They even enjoy being slaves and being treated as lowly servants of the higher class through situations of extreme degradation. Elizabeth Montgomery of Bewitched, is one of the narrators of this tale and it is surprising to know that she became involved with this project given the previous images and characters she has portrayed. The language is explicit at times, and erotic. If you aren't easily shocked and are somewhat broadminded, then this is definately worth a listen!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: buy the book, it's better Review: This audio version is very abridged. Many scenes are cut out.
Rating: Summary: Back away from this book Review: This book is your enemy. I actually liked Anne Rice before I started reading these books. Just the mention of any of these books in this series makes me want to cry. I don't suggest anyone read these.....ever.
Rating: Summary: Horrid Book Review: This book was awful!! Ann must think that she is writing for children. The characters are not developed and Beauty seems stupid to me. I hated it
Rating: Summary: Better than the first, but still, the endless ass-whacking! Review: This book was better than the first because the characters were better developed and more emotional and kinky than in the first book. But, why all of the endless ass-whacking. Anne did a good job with this one, but there's very little Sex and too much S&M
