Rating: Summary: a, reader from wantagh,ny Review: THIS BOOK WAS MUCH BETTER THEN THE LAST ONE. I ENJOYED THE FIRST,ALMOST COULDN'T FINISH THE SECOND,BUT DID ENJOY THE THIRD IN THE TRILOGY. I DO THINK THERE WERE SOME LOOSE ENDS AND I STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHERE REMINGTON GOT MIXED UP IN MIA'S LIFE BUT IT WAS AN EASY READ FOR A WEEKEND. I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT TRILOGY(I HOPE THERE IS ONE).I THINK WITCHCRAFT IS A LITTLE OVER MS. ROBERTS HEAD BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE THE BOOK FIZZLED OUT IN THE END.I ALSO THINK THAT SEX WAS WAY OVER USED IN THIS TRILOGY. I CAN'T IMAGINE MY BUDDIES AND I TALKING ABOUT SOME OF THE THINGS THESE WOMEN CHATTED ABOUT.
Rating: Summary: Refreshing romance Review: I just adored Sam Logan if Mia didn't want him I sure did. He is the ultimate romantic. The picnic and music was wonderful. this book is a perfect Calgon take me away type story. I just wish that Nora could continue with the series. Leaving two characters pregnant just made me want to know how the children will turn out.
Rating: Summary: Loved it! Review: Nora Roberts scores again! In the final book of the Three Sisters trilogy, we see the fateful reunion of Mia Devlin & Sam Logan. Sam, Mia's first and only love, returns to the island on a mission that's twofold in nature: to win Mia back, and to help her save the Three Sisters from being swallowed by the sea. We find that Sam's a witch as well, and that he plays a pivotal role in Mia's destiny. Ms Roberts keeps that destiny obscured to the reader in order to give the final scene its dramatic punch. There is a choice that needs to be made, but the spell that held the island safe for 300 years didn't dictate who had to make it first. Although we know that the island will be saved and Mia will live - c'mon, what kind of romance novel would this be if the island was swallowed by the sea after the heroine's abject failure?! - it was a lot of fun trying to figure out how she was going to go about it. Buy the trilogy for excellent beach reading.
Rating: Summary: Not up to par Review: The first book in this trilogy was the best, and its been downhill from there. The second book dragged in part but still led me to believe that I wanted to read the last book. This book hardly keeps my attention and drags from the very beginning. It will be a struggle to finish. The book reads like an outline and misses the details that allows your imagination to bring the characters to life.
Rating: Summary: A Magical Read! Enchanting! Review: "Face the Fire" by Nora Roberts is the final instalment in the enchanting Three Sisters Island trilogy, which has captivated me from book one. Staying true to its predecessors, this final book does not disappoint. Full of vivid and insightful characterizations, steamy romance, and just the right dose of fantasy, "Face the Fire" will leave you believing in magic.Mia Devlin is a strong, determined, and savvy businesswoman and an immensely powerful witch. She has great friends, especially Nell and Ripley, her sisters of the heart and fellow witches, a beautiful home and garden, and a wonderful bookstore that does great business, but Mia isn't truly happy. Ever since Sam Logan walked out of her life eleven years ago, leaving her young heart in pieces on the ground, she has closed off a part of herself that she never plans to open again. Everything is going fine with her plan to keep her heart blocked off from ever being broken again, until the day that Sam Logan strolls into her bookstore and back into her life. But Mia greets Sam, who has returned to Three Sisters to reclaim her, with painfully polite icy indifference. For though the energy still snaps and sparks in the air between them, Mia knows she just won't survive having her heart torn out a second time. But Sam is here to stay, and he won't give Mia up without a fight. The interplay between Mia and Sam is expertly rendered by Roberts, as we watch Mia's range of reactions to Sam's persistence. When they are together, Mia and Sam all but send sparks from the pages, sometimes in passion and sometimes in pure frustration and anger. But no matter what Mia decides is in her heart, she had better do it fast, because the deadline for breaking a centuries old curse is mere months away. Mia can feel the evil forces hovering around the edges of her world, and if she doesn't win the fight against that evil, the people she loves will be in great danger, and the Island she so loves will fall into the sea. "Face the Fire" is a fantastic read and I will most definitely read it again. It was wonderful to see lots of Nell & Zack and Ripley & Mac in this novel (the main characters from the two previous books in the trilogy). Mia is a wonderfully strong and courageous heroine who readers will become very attached to. And though it's fun watching Sam squirm when he first arrives on Three Sisters, he will win readers over with his sincere devotion to Mia and keeping her safe. This book is full of magic and romance, and contains a lovely tale of true love and destiny that I found irresistible. "Face the Fire" comes highly recommended, so buy it today!
Rating: Summary: Definatly the best of the three Review: I loved this trilogy!!! I so glad my friend gave me the first book to read since then I was hooked and I bought the next 2 in the series the day they came out. If I had to pick my favorite in the triolgy it would be this one, it was great I loved it. In the other to books the potrayed Mia as a very sexy mysterious goddess but they never really talked about her so when I read this book it unlocked that mystery and let me into Mia heart mind and soul. Then when you add in the romantic intrest of Sam Logan it really gets good. Like the other it has fear, sadness, joy, and excitment. I highly recommend this triology this will be one that I know I will re-read.
Rating: Summary: Getting a little tired of the mysticism . . . Review: I must say, I'm getting a little tired of the mysticism in Nora's books. The dialogue is always clunkier, and the cliches fly off the page. Admittedly, I've been reading Roberts for over a decade, so I can't help but see the repetitiveness of her plots, but I really miss books like Montana Sky and Public Secrets, which focus on character and constructing a solid thriller. I think I even enjoyed the first Silhouette trilogy about the witches more than this one, because it seemed more grounded in how someone with supernatural powers would respond to real world events. This vague evil presence, manifesting itself in wolves and batterers didn't work for me. I would have liked real world evils, like domestic violence featured in the first book, to have continued to be the opposition . . . The curse plot could have worked just as well if they were fighting recognizable foes. It may be a catch-22, however, to look for Roberts to improve--- part of what makes her so readable is her likable stock characters and productive derivativeness, but that very derivativeness and cliched content is beginning to really disappoint me.
Rating: Summary: Harry Potter, all grown up! Review: I'm an avid Nora Roberts fan, and FACE THE FIRE was another outstanding story! I was a little disappointed in the first installment of the trilogy (DANCE UPON THE AIR). HEAVEN AND EARTH was slightly better, but this one is by far the best. Think of the hero, Sam Logan, as a grown-up, very sexy Harry Potter!
Rating: Summary: Wow! I Discovered the Male Nora Roberts Review: It was too long of a wait for the conclusion to the Trilogy, but what a wonderful novel!! Well worth the wait. Nora Roberts has a way of drawing you into her stories and not letting you go. For lovers of Nora Roberts, I may have found the male Nora Roberts! I recommend without reservation Shade of the Maple by Kirk Martin. Unbelievable characters, descriptions and story. And he is giving $1.00 from every purchase to breast cancer research. You won't be disappointed. Nora, keep writing! It's difficult to wait!
Rating: Summary: Great Ending to the Trilogy Review: I could not wait to read this book and boy was I not disappointed! Mia and Sam have a great spark that you can feel leap off the pages. Mia tries to fight her attraction and love for Sam not just for herself, but also for the fate of the island and those she loves. Sam on the other hand, tries to gain the trust back from the woman that he left 11 years ago and will stop at nothing, even death, to get it. It is a delightful book and fits in well with the other two. I could not put it down and just had to finish it the night I got it.
