Rating: Summary: completly capturing Review: Anne Rice has a way of drawing you into her fantasies of immortality. Her description of art and decor during that era is fantastic. I have read all of her books and I love the Chronicles. The ageless beauty of Akasha, The Mother and Father, the beginning of mythical vampires. There is a romantic edge to her stories of Lestat and his travels. I can't put her books down. They are awesome! "Queen of the Damned" was excellent writings. Thank you, Anne Rice!!!
Rating: Summary: Incredibly thought-proveking,disterbing and riveting series. Review: In my opinion Anne Rice has thought through the plot and circumstances thourghly and gave a vivid discription of her charcters in each volume. I especially liked 'The Evil Vampire Lestat.' I thought it was brillantly written for both mortal and imortal.
Rating: Summary: ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!! Review: This book is definately a must to be read by someone who would like to know or somehow fantasize on how the immortals (vampires) live or came about. It makes you want to cry out to all the immortal beings out there to take you, befriend you and be your companion and wait to be awed by them. It will battle your mind and spirit to choose your desire and to distinguish between black and white, fact or fictionl. Emotionally driven and suspenseful and I must add, it is great to picture Brad Pitt as Louis-the depressed and mentally tortured vampire.
Rating: Summary: It is one of the best set of novels I have ever read Review: I feel that Anne Rice has captured the true meaning of a horror novel. I think that New Orleans is the perfect place setting for the first novel, Interview With A Vampire because of the uniqueness of the city itself and the fact that a lot of eery things are there to begin with. I also like the fact that her vampires are french and not the typical Transylvanians that you typically see. The characters in these novels are pasionate, yet frightening at the same time. I feel that if you like vampire novels with a passion, like me, you chould read the vampire chronicles by Anne Rice.
Rating: Summary: So romantic, it makes you want to believe in vampires. Review: From the very first tale, i wanted to believe it was fact instead of fiction. Even though I consider myself a christian, I fantasized about joining the ranks of the undead and riding the "immortal coil" through time. For now, i'll just read the books.
Rating: Summary: historical, social, religious ramifacations of vampires... Review: the constant improvemant in Anne Rice's vampire chronicles is due to the progression of her theories in the novels. The reader can clearly see the alternative beliefs Anne Rice has included in her novels. Anne Rice has set up an age long question and search for truth about myths extreemly well. She has analized religion, history, and society by comparing supernatural beings in thier natural habitat and lifestyle patterns to theese aspects in human existance. In Anne Rice's final novel of her vampire chronicles, Memnoch the devil, she debates the theroy of creation verses the theroy of evolution. Anne Rice told the story of creation from Memnochs' point of view while intertwining the theroy of eveloution. "we witnessed millions of explosions and chemical transformations, upheavals, all of which involved nonorganic molecules before 'life' as we call it ever came to exist." Anne Rice personified God and the Archangels by brilliantly recording the thoughts and feelings of those watching the miricles being performed. Anne rice also included many small and solid theroies " i believe god worked backwards from the blueprint of himself" this is just a taste of how wonderful thechronicles are dont even get me started of Queen of the Damned
Rating: Summary: Anne Rice captures our wildest dreams in the chronicles! Review: I only rated the chronicles with a 10 because the scale doesn't go higher. Have you ever wanted to be able to fly? Or how about moving objects with your mind...what about teleporting yourself from place to place. Anne Rice may not be able to make you have an out-of-body experience, but she can very well tell you what it might feel like if you were to have one. The sensations one feels in these books is one of pure joy when she describes Lestat's surroundings. Or the absolute dread you could feel pulsing in your throat when our preternatural hero is in a tight spot. I get deeper into the story everytime that I read the chronicles over again. You might think that feeling the sensations of a vampire would be a truly wicked and develish thing...to me it would be heaven.
Some people say that virtual reality is the coolest new thing. To the people who say that, I say, "Where have you been, Anne Rice has been doing it for years".
Rating: Summary: One of the best series i ever read. Review: With the exception of 'Inerview', these are some of the best books I've ever read. Anne Rice truly knows how to bring her characters to life without leaving any angle untouched. These stories are very grafic and detailed, and should not be read by thoes with a week stomach.
Rating: Summary: OUTRAGEOUS !!! Review: After watching the movie I felt I needed to search a little more about vampires and their life, so I bought the 1st book, it took me to buy the complete collection of Vampire Chronicles... Lestat's power, Louis's poetric thoughts, and Claudia's evil mind, all togheter with Armand and the rest of the characters make this work a masterpiece. Would you like to become a Vampire ? Maybe ..... I would... should I ? Jonatan Ramirez. Jonatan.r@usa.net El Salavador
Rating: Summary: Queen of the damned is one of Rice's best novels. Review: This most intriguing novel is one of Rice's best works in all of the series. She not only made Lestat even more interesting than he already was in the other novels, she also kept our attention with her anything but boring plot. I would definately reccomend this book.
