Summary: The worst book I've read in a long time
Review: I'm just going to give a quick list of things as to why this books did not meet any of my literary expectations (because if I go into a long review I'll probably become downright abusive). The plot was too bare. It was like someone stretched what should have been 70 pages of story into over 200. TOO much banter. The banter was so non-stop that sometimes I had no idea what was going on in the scene. In that aspect it was good that the plot was so absurdly simple, because at least it was easy to find underneath all of the unnecessary dialogue. Some banter is good, but when it goes on for pages and pages, just stop. Betsy is not as endearing as Bridget Jones or Buffy, so her little antics did not appeal to me. The author took cliched lines from movies and other books and stuck them all over the place (Hello, the shoes and sex line is from Clueless). The characters were so superficial that by the end of the book I had to struggle to find one that I even remotely identified with or took an interest in by the end of the book. (...). I still can't believe I was recommended this book.

Summary: Bridge Jones Becomes A Vamp
Review: This is certainly an unusual book - at least, as far as I know. It's like Bridge Jones' Diary meets Anne Rice. And pretty sexy, really - I mean, if you don't mind blood sucking mixed with your romance novel sex scenes - and group sex, at that. It's a quick, fun read. Perfectly mindless, but humorous. I'd read it again and definitely think the author should keep writing books.

Summary: What a great book!
Review: Funny, funny, funny! Definitely a new approach to the vampire queen persona. It looks like this is going to be a series--I can't wait for the next one.

Summary: Wickedly Funny
Review: I just finished this book last night - I couldn't put it down until I finished it. It was such a funny book - really a Scream! The main character, Betsy Taylor, has one of the worst days of her life and then wakes up from it to find out she's dead and then it gets worse. Her step-monster has stolen all of her designer shoes and that's just the beginning of the adventure. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys vampire fiction - but you MUST have a sense of humor to truly enjoy it. Pick this one up and just have fun!!!

Summary: ~~~~A creative and delightful read~~~~
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I found myself laughing out loud several times. It was a creative and delightful change of pace. I am looking forward to Ms. Davidson's next book in this series, Undead and Unemployed!

Summary: Laugh out loud
Review: I bought this book after reading other reviews. I'm glad I did. I loved it as it was definitely a laugh out loud book. You felt that Elizabeth Taylor (yes, that's her name) was a real person and you could almost relate to her everyday problems...such as how do you tell your family and friends you are now a vampire. A great take on this theme.

Summary: very sassy read
Review: I enjoyed this book, this kooky premise. It provided laughs and fun, though toward the end did seems to run out of steam. I am not a big fan of heavy vampire novels, most tend to blur for me. I enjoy the witty turn, and the lighter vamps being done now are fun.

Ms. Davidson show panche with her use of words that keeps the reader hooked. I especially love the "movie blurbs", the sharp dialog, so will look forward to the next in the series.

Summary: Not bad but not Anita Blake
Review: I'll be honest, I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand, there aren't that many strong female characters out there capable of kicking butt, smarting off, AND looking good while fighting the forces of darkness. (In which case, I'll happily take what I can get)

On the other hand...

Elizabeth (aka 'Betsy') is sooo whiny, vane and spiteful that it's hard to get too excited; even harder for me to recommend others pay full price for Mrs Davidson's latest book. For starters, Betsy spends a good quarter of this story perpetually pissed off. Why? I'm not sure--but she calls people names, lets her followers be raped in front of her, hits people whenever she gets even the slightest bit upset, and frankly, cares more about designer shoes than she does about saving the day.

It was around the time when the local good-guys were forced to bribe their would-be queen to save them with boxes of Beverly Feldman and Manolo Blahnik originals (designer shoes) that I pretty much wrote this book off and excepted it for what it was. Fluff.

But, hey, there is nothing wrong with fluff and if you take it with a grain of salt you won't be disappointed. Just don't expect this to be on the same level as Anita Blake or even Sookie Stackhouse... because it's not that kind of book/soon to be series. Enjoy

Summary: 5 Easy Steps to Immortality
Review: Take one perpetually cross (hah!) secretary
one car and a tree trunk
and mix together with 3 parts fate and 1 part hunk
Set overnight in a cool dark place (morgue)
Mixture will rise after dark!

If you can handle swearing (lots of), kick a*s attitude, a very well described male, and lots of "yeah, yeah, already seen the movie" cliches, then you will enjoy this book. If your'e a tactile person you will also love the cover art and it's kinda funky and feels nice (mmmmmmm).

Summary: One Word...FANTASTIC!!!!!
Review: First off I really think that this is more of a mainstream paranormal novel (do those exist before now??) and less of a romance. I also am very careful about which vampire books I read. Some just don't do it for me. Ms. Davidson has been added to my "safe list". Actually she tops it now!

Without going into the whole story lets just suffice it to say that the character's in this book are great, Ms. Davidson's sense of humor and wit is great, and she has managed to mix both of these concepts into a fast paced read that will literally having you laughing out loud and more then once. Yes, she even manages to mix in a little sensuality with your vampire's as well as adding her own spin on the whole vampire myth/legend. Trust me you have not read a vampire book like this one. EVER!!! I truly look forward to the next in this series. Ms. Davidson can't write fast enough for me...So hurry Ms. Davidson, Hurry!!
