Summary: Laugh Out Loud Funny!!!
Review: Mary Janice Davidson's humor is dead (ha!)on. I'm an avid reader of chick lit and romantic comedy but I thought this particular book was the funniest I've read in a LONG time. Can't wait for the sequel.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: More laughs than bites
Review: If you are a fan of dark and intense vampire fiction like Anne Rice, this book is not for you. But if you are interested in a hilarious look at how a woman who doesn't want to be a vampire copes with all the changes you'll laugh aloud with "Undead and Unwed".

Summary: Hilarious, entertaining vampire farce!
Review: I knew I'd found a droll, entertaining vampire farce when I picked up this book. However, I hadn't expected it to be a laugh-a-minute novel that had me in hysterics in inappropriate times! Who would have thought that ditsy, shoe-loving former model Betsy was the queen of the undead? That's exactly what happens when she wakes up inside a coffin. She had been run over and killed by a car just a couple of days ago. And if discovering that her stepmother dressed her up in a pink suit and cheap shoes isn't traumatizing enough, she craves blood, is a creature of the night and has to stay away from the charms of Eric Sinclair -- a tall, dark and gorgeous vampire with a hidden agenda...

I laughed so many times reading this novel. Betsy is dry and sarcastic and I lost count of her many quips. The story and characters have a caricature quality to them that makes the novel seem more like a parody than a satire. Undead and Unwed is a fast-paced, fun novel that you won't be able to put down. If you like paranormal novels, sassy and chic heroines, dry wit and low-brow humor, then make sure you give this novel a whirl. Perfect for the beach! I look forward to reading more of Mary Janice Davidson, especially the erotic novels she wrote for Ellora's Cave.

Summary: What a FUN READ
Review: There are so many reviews of this book, I'm not sure what to say. But I read it in one sitting. Soooo funny! The best laugh I've had in a while, And still so sexy and humerous. I hope we have many more of these.

Summary: pure phun
Review: A great fun read. Delightful characters. Love Betsy, don't call me Eilizabeth, Taylor, as she learns the ropes of vampiredom, without the manual. The authore has great "voice".

Summary: charming quick read...
Review: this book was an impulse buy and it's one of the few times i'm grateful i did...the book was utterly charming...betsy isn't necessarily the most likeable person (rather vain and self-involved with a sarcastic tongue that often gets her in trouble) but she's honest, loyal to her friends and family, and wants nothing more than to have her own life (so to speak)...it was just such an enjoyable fun read and i am eagerly awaiting the next in the series...

Summary: good fun
Review: very easy read. I love vampire books of all kinds and absolutely love the twist this author give us. Can't wait for more books about Betsy!

Summary: PURE TRASH
Review: If you enjoy vulgarity ad nauseam and no really redeemable characters, this is the book for you. I did like the mom. Betsy and Jessica are good friends but use such bad language when talking with one another it makes one wonder. Betsy literally takes out her bitter disappointment with her cowardly father and horrible stepmother on the whole world. Truth be told, she probably does not like herself. If you never read this book you won't miss a thing. If you really like vampire books, read Maggie Shayne or Christine Feehan.

Summary: Good Book- Whiny Heroine
Review: I read a review of this book and picked it up from the library. Much to my delight, it was funnier and more witty that the review suggested. Betsy, the Vampire Queen is truly a gal for the new millenium, but I did get tired of her whining and being pissed for the entire second half of the book. Get over it Betsy. That said, this was a truly enjoyable escapist reading adventure and I would recommend it to any fan of vampire novels/romance novels.

Summary: Great, funny book
Review: This book is nonstop quirky, sarcastic humor. The main character is likeable and funny. It took me a couple of chapters to get used to the writing style because it's basically one punch-line after another, but once I got into it, I loved it.

There's a lot of adventure and intrigue, and the plot is fast-paced. All of the characters are interesting and beleivable. I plan on buying the sequel to this novel which comes out in August 2004 - "Undead and Unemployed." I highly recommend this book.

If you like vampire novels with a female main character, also check out the "Dead Until Dark" series by Charlaine Harris.
